Need to find my closest Montgomery Wards to get my replacement. I always thought we should have bought Craftsman tools because of course you remember what they said. "Craftsman tools. Wife got this Russian tortoise from a breeder here in FL. He(?) is fairly small, a little less than 2 inches in diameter. I'm doing some research and learning as much as I can. This little one burrows and hides away during the day but after work we get him out in the sun and warmth and he comes around. Loves spring mix salad and dark green romaine lettuce. He has small pellets of food but doesn't show any interest in that.

We are ....you guessed it, down in the Keys again. Holiday weekend coming up so we took off early and are not going back to work until Tuesday the 9th! We are so over this thing called "work" and we just don't give a damn about our patients anymore. OK, that was a little harsh, but we are just about ready to end this part of our life. Will be done just prior to the end of this year and then we are officially "old farts". Even more funny, on the way down yesterday we stopped at a McDonald's to let the dogs out and pee. Decided to eat and ordered a chicken value meal and a wrap. Wife and I shared the fries and the one drink. The bill for the two of us came to just over $8. I told her we are getting to be just like all the other old folks in Florida. Wife said she wouldn't sit with me if I ordered a senior coffee. The SUV was packed to the gills. Besides the usual supplies and cooler, had the two dogs and a large dresser for the bedroom. Also had to find room for a new temporary addition. A tortoise! Wife bought that to give to her grandson for his birthday. I guess that's better than the cat she was originally planning to give. I'm going to have to seek help from @Ontarkie on proper care of a tortoise. It's a very young Russian Dwarf tortoise. Hopefully the family will take decent care of him.

The wife and I started the K-1 visa process in 2005....and are still together. 20th wedding anniversary will be in June.

Had my squamous cell carcinoma removed today. She got it all with the first cutting. Tomorrow morning I begin the prep for the colonoscopy. Clear fluids, broth, or Jello. Made me wonder if Jello shots are ok too?

Yes, I have observed that the less expensive Colgate formula toothpastes generally come from Mexico. I've used Oral B Glide floss picks for years and have noticed recently their poor quality. Breaking and shredding. Looked at the bag and sure enough, made in China. I've been giving out Oral B toothbrushes and Crest toothpaste and small sample packs of Glide floss at the office. I assumed it was all made in the USA. They even imprint them with my name and phone number. Guess I had better take another look. Edit: Just ran off to check since I had a few new in packaging Oral B toothbrushes here at home and it does say in bold lettering "made in the USA*" *with US and imported parts

Ah, another problem I have started to have. Caffeine is starting to give me heart palpitations. I don't drink coffee during the week, but I do have a couple of cups each day Friday thru Sunday. By Monday the ticker is going crazy. The last two days I noticed it more than ever. My wife checked my pulse and got very nervous when she noted that every fourth beat was "missing". Guess that's just a result of PVC's but not having any dizziness or chest pains. I will mention this to my Dr next month at my physical. I'm really going to miss that morning jolt on the weekend. Should have just shot you in the bad hip with that Shingrix. Hey look over there at the homeless guy dumpster diving for coupons!

Well, as a matter of fact, they will be doing BOTH an endoscopy and colonoscopy for me. I'm just requesting they do the endoscopy first....

I'm having my colonoscopy next week. This will be my second one. Of course I'm dreading the prep too. Wife's first colonoscopy will be the week after mine. Last week was our dermatology appointments. The doctor says my wife has the best skin in town. Of course she does, she never goes out in the sun, at least not without sunscreen and being covered head to toe. She's even got a burkini (never even knew there was such a thing) for swimming in the Keys. Dermatologist hit me 5 times with the liquid nitrogen, and cut two areas. One area was OK, and the other was not...squamous cell carcinoma! Next week will not be fun. Tuesday is my pre-op appointment for the colonoscopy, Wednesday I have a large excision to remove what my be left of the squamous cell, and Friday is the colonoscopy. Later in the month will be the blood draw and visit with my primary. I'm hating August already.
