  1. Also you do not include the beneficiary in the section 6.

    Read thoroughly and interpret literally:

"Income you are using from any other person who was counted in your household size [...]"

So if the person HAD no income, you are not including it and don't put their name there.

Ok got it, that's how I filled my i864.

Some one posted earlier today , got me confused.

But now I know I was correct.

  2. Saylin or some one please check this attached file and especially the PART 6

    HERE'S THE BACK GROUND

    1. Sponsor is in usa earning = X amount,

    2. Sponsor mother lives in same house and is dependent. , earnings = none

    .....................

    3. Beneficiary lives in India , earnings =none

    .....................

    Note that

    1) I did not include beneficiary in part 6, a , b, c. ?

    2) beneficiary was included in part. 5 and total count of house hold is 3

    There are 2 attached pictures.

  3. I don't understand why , foreign spouse needs to be included here in the house hold.?

Because the spouse WILL be living there and the whole point is to make sure there is enough income so they won't become a public charge

She is not living together ?

Can any one she'd done light on this. I did not include spouse in household

Yeah i got that we include spouse in 5,

But why would spouse need to be in included in 6.a ,b , c

    ?

    ?

  4. Yay! Good for you... What a relief!

Well, sort of... It depends on how competent your lawyer is. Some people find that the lawyer doesn't work as fast as we would so the time savings is negated.

In addition to copying the amount on line 5 onto line 10, it seems like 6a,b, and c could be referring to your spouse, the applicant. After all, they will be included in your household size. Then their income would be 0 or "none" and in question 12, you would check the box for "this person is the primary applicant" and then write their name.

  5. How did you name to put NA in date of birth blocks.

I will write with hand after printing....

    Hello :).

Several people (including Saylin in the wiki) have mentioned that nothing should be left blank in form i-864 and you should type "none" or N/A. However, I found myself trying to do so and some parts of the form look kind of ridiculous lol (see attached thumbnail). Should it really be like that?

Does anyone have screenshots of this form- besides the sample form on the site...A lot of spaces are blank there, so I don't feel like I should follow that sample....

Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but I am scared of getting a checklist :(

Thank you in advance! And special thanks to Saylin…For her hard work reading every post, writing the wiki and updating the spreadsheet :)

I don't know what I would have done without VJ!

  6. Grrrr. Just called NVC and got a checklist for my AOS. They said my income for 2012 was wrong, even though I know I checked it like a million times to make sure I put total income for the 1040! Problem is I'm looking at the copy of my tax transcript and I just now noticed the freaking lady at the copy place didn't copy the backside of the paper, so I don't have the info to look at!

The NVC lady said you can't take "total income" off of the tax transcript, it has to come from the 1040. Which is weird, how could it be different? So now I'm trying to call my mom to see if she has a copy of my 1040, because I don't have it here in CR with me.

Also said I have a checklist for "proof of employment" when I obviously stated that I LIVE ABROAD and so it won't count. NVC lady said I need to send in a note saying "I didn't include proof of employment because I don't work in the USA"

    Grr.

How would they know what's on 1040 if you have not submitted it, if they check irs all that would be available will be transcripts.

Did your have joint house hold income, meaning just your total on w2 would be different than transcript total of house hold.

  7. I got my transcript online and compared to my I864, I wrote total income! It's just that total income and adjusted gross are the same number. How could it possibly be the wrong number??

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I just checked my transcripts and 1040 for 2013

    Here's what I found

Total income (in transcript) =total income on 1040 = adjusted gross income ( transcript) =adjusted gross income on 1040

Some how all are equal for me!!

  9. Is that for beneficiary's passport delivery after visa approval. If yes then that is supposed to be Indian address.

    Hello,

I am trying to schedule the fingerprint for my wife in new delhi

In step 5, i have a questioin regarding the mailing address/pick up for returned documents.

All returned documents will be sent to the address selected below. it is asking for a mailing address so should I put my wifes india address or my USA address?

then the following page (specify documentation delivery) ask for the closest city office where all returned documents will be sent too..................am confused.

    thanks,

  10. I call NVC everyday to see if they received my approved petition but so far nothing. I just want to check if im doing it right. I just check with whoever answers and they tell me its not in system yet. Is that pretty much it?

Check the below sheet, that will keep you aware when you might get your case no.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?hl=en&hl=en&key=0AtbvTEwLyHz1dDhjM3lXTEl1cW1SbjRwdW9YRGlIanc&type=view&gid=0&f=true&sortcolid=4&sortasc=false&rowsperpage=250

  11. First of all, my wife got her PCC from RPO -Kolkata (last month) w/o needing to change her passport. However, she did apply for the PCC as Married and did show her marriage certificate. I asked her to get 2 copies of the PCC. Once she sent me (petitioner) which I included with the IV package. The other she is keeping to be carried to the interview.

However, later I found out from NVC Filers - March 2014 thread, that for India (and maybe Pakistan, too) NVC is not insisting on the original PCC. A copy of the PCC is fine to be sent in to NVC as long as the original is shown at the time of interview.

For New Delhi consulate Original PCC is required by NVC,

For Mumbai copy is accepted by NVC.

  12. PCC issued in India will not have the following

    1. Married or single status

    2. Address of residence

To save your self a lot of issues, you can simply try to apply for PCC as single .

    Hey guys,

My wife needed to get her passport updated with spouses name in order to get PCC (a little strange). At the NVC stage when we submit the passport, is it okay to submit the old passport since the new one is in processing, and show the new one at the interview? Or should I wait for the new one to be completed and then submit that one?

  13. Just got off the phone, nothing yet for me too.

Nothing yet! but thanks for the wishes!

They told me it could take the entire 30 business days period.

    I'm at 21 right now!

For the K3, they keep on telling it is on admin. processing and of course no time frame!

I'm really getting fed up with all this!

I'm really having a hard time understanding where the NVC stands as far as the K3.

On Friday afternoon, I called them again and had a heated discussion with customer representative Joy. I told her from the beginning that I was not trying to give her a hard time, rather I was trying to actually understand what was going on.

She assured me that my K3 was not closed, but when I told her what other customer representative told me, she got mad at me and said that I already know everything and that I was not making sense bla bla bla bla..

Anyway, the emails I got from NVCExpedite said that it takes 2 - 4 weeks to process K3 at NVC before it is sent to the embassy. Customer service representatives tell me there is no time frame at all and my K3 is still undergoing necessary administrative processing.

I fell I'm back with the USCIS confusion again.

But anyway, my point to Joy was that when NVC receives I-129F and I-130 at the same time, they are both giving case # and then I-129F is then closed. but in my case, only the I-129F was giving a case number, and that's actually what got her to lose her cool.
