Ok I have been paged back to this post by concerned Nigerian members who don't want to type what I am about to type. ( I am known for this type of message and the ensuing mess it creates )
You need to run to a yahoo group romance scams and go through their document " they may be a scammer if " because you ARE being taken advantage of. You have had your head filled with the idea that you need to rescue your man from the conditions there and that you have to send all your money after an accident ( I paid for my sister in laws hysterectomy and that cost 600 usd ) You will not be the first woman that has been brain washed by a romance scammer, nor the first one to have actually met their scammer but I can tell you without hesitation you are being scammed . This young man grew up there and the conditions you are so taken aback by are the norm to him. Yes he wants to live the high life and he has enchanted you with sweet words and tales of suffering but it is you that are a victim here not him

Many different business and sports make a mockery out of the military. When I got back from boot camp in my uniform nobody gave two sh!ts about someone in the military...now they fall all over themselves to show how patriotic they are with bumper sticker or some add for their business.

Did your Science class teach Greek Mythology as a credible theory?
There's nothing special about Christian creationism that makes it any more credible, except its popularity. I'm perfectly happy with creationism being entertained as a myth, but not as a credible theory, unless we take every world creation story from every culture and give it the same credibility.
Why stop there? Let's teach about the Vimanas, or show kids episodes of Ancient Aliens in history class.

A generally nervous man was skydiving for the first time with a group of his friends, who ensured him they'd done it before, and he'd be fine. The instructor was an Indian man.
Due to the nervous nature of this fellow, he asked his instructor, "so all I have to do is pull the cord? What if the parachute doesn't open?"

One reason Atheists might try to 'enlighten' the religious is that the religious tend to apply their religion to the rights of others. There isn't a non-religious reason for people to be against gay marriage, for one example.
Personally, I could care less what people believe personally. What I care about is what the inspiration is for laws, rules, and regulations that we must abide by. If those rules are inspired only by religious doctrine and don't serve any purpose other than appeasing a god, I have a problem with it.

I want to give my opinion on this issue. I am 11.5 years younger than my fiancee. I am the male, and I am the U.S. citizen petitioner. With that out of the way...
I have heard that it is very easy for Americans to find Filipina girlfriends. I have also heard that there are many Filipinas who want so desperately to go to a country like the United States, that they are willing to pretend to love someone. It is a common issue... I have read about it many times, from many places. Do a search for "filipina marriage visa scam" on google or similar, and see.
This doesn't only happen to men, and it doesn't only happen in the Philippines. It's very common that younger men scam older American women in the Middle East. It's also common for people to be scammed in Africa.
With that said, of course not every relationship is a scam! There are true relationships with no ulterior motives. There are even relationships which start off as scams and turn into honest relationships. I don't even want to judge which is which, because I don't know any of you well enough to even attempt it!
I do think, though, that for Americans travelling abroad, it is very important to be careful of someone's intentions if you find that you are able to meet a partner a little too easily. Many people have been taken advantage of in the past, and surely it will happen again in the future.
That being said, if you are sure your relationship is legit, that's all the convincing I need.

Perhaps it's because people are following trends...
