PaisleyLady reacted to EAS in getting depressed......why does everything bad happen to us...in egypt hell
You don't have to visit Egypt IF your bf can travel to another country. Just pick a third country to which you both can gain admission.

PaisleyLady reacted to relshamy in very confused and need help!!!
Just for your info guys the expiration date has no affect anymore once the consulate receives your packet, so don't worry about that. Our case expired on April 10th and our interview was not till May 15th. Good luck to all of you waiting...

I do not agree in the slightest.

No.
Immigration should NEVER be a system where the people who can afford to pay more get better service.

Just thought I would let everyone know that after four and a half months of being here in the US, my husband has finally been hired for a full time job position. So now he will be working full time, and also keeping his part time job. YAY!!!!

PaisleyLady reacted to kristen_maroc in Do we need a sticky for newbies?
So... after a few years here, I've seen the drama, I've seen the... strong women sharing their sometimes unpopular or "harsh" opinions with newbies and/or people who they characterize as the "rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns" folks... the skepticism that many MENA people get when they post here without telling their USC partners about this place... and it got me wondering...
Do we need a FAQ or "Welcome to the MENA boards" sticky? Something to explain a bit about the tone of the boards to the newbies who come here and might get scared off by the content here? Because I know that the "reality checks" are needed, but it seems like there are an awful lot of questions that come up a lot. It feels like we're constantly describing red flags, etc.
Is a FAQ/introductory post something that we might want to work on as a board and make a sticky? It could include things like:
- What is "MENA" and other acronyms?
- What are "red flags?" How do we overcome them?
- Why is there so much talk about fraud on the MENA boards?
- Why do people keep asking me hard questions that might seem irrelevant or like they don't trust our relationship? (answer- because that's what you are up against at the consulate)
- Past interview questions
- Why do people here seem "harsh?"
- Country-specific details that come up often
Again-- just a thought! I know that it would have been helpful to me to see this all in one place when I first started... before jumping into the discussion head-first, so to speak!
Love and respect to all!

PaisleyLady reacted to goodlucklife in THESE TWO THINGS ARE IMPORTANT FOR ANYBODY CONSIDERING K1 VISA!! MUST READ
Meant with some tongue in cheek but with a message to this poster....
First...there is no need to shout. I do not understand why you dont understand that when you use capital letter, it is shouting.
Second.. this is called visa journey.... The definition of journey is taking a path and discovering new things. So if folks type things that seem repetitive, it is only that they are discovering things on their journey. This isnt caled "visaIKnowEveryThing.com. I do not understand why you do not understand this
Third This journey we are all taking is a long, hard and emotional one and sometimes some people may need to vent things when they are upset or frustrated because we are all in love and miss our loved ones. So are you venting because you are frustrated If so , I can understand it but maybe you should vent about your own issues and not blast others for trying to learn and understand what to do on their own visa journey.
Meant with the kindest of intentions........

Actually my k-1 petition was approved as of last week my NOA2 date is jan21. We don't get CASE NUMBERS from the Uscis. We get case numbers from the NVC. The USCIS issues "receipt numbers"

Question to all of you veterans and people 'in the know'.... how can you tell when your file has been 'touched'? Thanks in advance, and good luck to everyone still waiting. My adjudication window keeps moving (forard... argghhh) but it has settled into next week.

190 days *Sigh* :'(
I feel myself losing it this week. I was so calm for 5 and a half months.

PaisleyLady reacted to Sooooon in Vermont July Filers!
totally the same!
i was being really patient and collected about the wait, you know, because that's just how it was and there's nothing we could do except wait. There's no queue jumping, dream act petitions or whatever that caused the slow down, christmas, no amount of phone calls would give anything but script ad being told to wait... it's just the cards we're dealt.
but oh man, when it passed 6months, i just got peeved off! even if we get approved this week (doubtful), i'm still going to miss valentines, our anniversary and his birthday. if we get an rfe, that's like what at least a month or 2 turnaround. our lives are passing by because of this bs. and wth is happening with csc? you cant just stop approving petitions, surely they coulda left a couple guys on them.
