  1. Hi all

called USC asked for 2nd tier supervisor and what do you know today there is no one on staff at that level today ( I guess its some holiday i didnt know abt) so she gave me voicemail and I wonder if I will actually get a call back? It's been 4 months and few days( 12/6/2013 is my NOA1) and my case was transferred from NBC to chicago office 1/30/2013 and I havent heard anything since.. not an excessive amount of time yet, but I dont want to get lost in the shuffle and seeing that more people seem to be getting NOA2 that have filed after me, I'm getting annoyed. Oh well here's hoping they will call me back and actually have something useful and accurate to tell me. Anyone else ever leave a voicemail? or is it a conspiracy LOL!!!

    Sherry

You can surely visit your Local office and try to find out whats going on with your case. You should also make sure that they have your case. By going there you will make them look at your case.

I am not sure if they will return your call or not.

  2. Hello,

We are November filers. My wife and I filed for I-130 late in November 2012, and we received our NOA 1 a couple of days later- and since then have been in the land of "initial review". NOA 1 seem to be from NBC office. Reading some stories on these forums, we find that many that had filed a couple of months after we did, have already been approved. wonder how cases are organised.

What is your nearest Local field office?

  3. Hi all,

We got our official NOA2 today, The date on it was April 4th ( the same date as our infopass), we received it in mail today ..:)  . Now waiting for NVC processing... Good luck to you all, hopefully everyone gets your NOA2 soon. I recommend you all to go to infopass and get an update, looks like they open ur file when they see you... :bonk:

You are surely right.. they open your case when they see you...Congratulations again..

  4. ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD its official! Status just changed again online!

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IM SO HAPPY!!!! I hope you ALL are next!!!!

    Congratulations.. ENJOY your approval...

Do you know the date of your transfer to Local office?

  5. I think our local office would be Atlanta but I've heard that they're super slow so I am really hoping that's not the case!!

Yes, Atlanta is preety slow. Wouldn't be bad idea if you have your husband visit your Local office and try to find out. Local office provided lots of information and by going there I avoided getting RFE(They were going to send an RFE about my marriage date) as I answered some of their questions and cleared doubts.

  6. No, we haven't been notified that it has been transferred to a local office. However, as my husband and I are living separately (with him in the US and me in Australia) I believe that it won't get transferred.

I haven't been notified of my case being transferred to Local office, but I called in March and found out that it was transfer on Jan 9. I went to my Local office and they confirm that they will be processing my case. If he was living abroad, it wouldn't have transferred but he is in US, so most likely it is at Local office. If your case was at NBC, it would have been approved by now.

You should call USCIS and talk to Tier2 officer, you should specifically ask if your case is currently being processed at Local office.

    What is your Local office?

  7. Thanks Robinhood. still waiting for NOA2 from NBC which might take some time.

I hope you get that real fast. at least your file is approved. I went to my Local office yesterday, officer at the window went inside to talk to other officer who is assigned on my case. He came back after 20 mins and said everything looks ok he went through my file. He asked me about my wedding date because he was confuse with the date formate on marriage certificate as it was from India. He said they do not need anything at this point and file has everything in order, officer will look at it when he will finished with other files before me. So at least I have some news that someone is assigned on my case and everything is fine. Hopefully will hear something soon.

  8. Sorry for the delay, By the time my wife came out from USCIS office it was Mid-night in india. I am not quite sure if its good news yet, below are the details

Her appointment time was 9:45 AM, As soon as she got her number called, went to the counter and a old aged officer(she said he was very kind) was sitting in that counter. My wife gave him NOA1, he scanned it and started working on his computer. He did not ask her any questions but by wife was telling him all the details.. blah blah.. A couple of minutes later, he called someone inside and a lady came out and they both started to talk to each other. My wife could barely hear them.. the lady office said "no 29th..", then he said " no, thats fine, i can do it". Later she typed something on his computer and went inside. He went inside too and brought my file ( YES, physical file, it has all our documents, the photos etc that we mailed to CSC). He asked my wife only one question while he was going through the docs, " Where is your husband now?, does he live here?", My wife replied " No, he used to be here, Did his M.S in computer science, later worked here for couple of years. Now he is in india". He said, everything looks fine and your case is approved and stamped the file with RED APPROVED MARK.

He said, i have nothing to give you now stating the approval, he typed something in computer and said i informed NBC and US consulate in india about the approval, NBC will send you the Approval notice in 15- 20 days, and US consulate will call him for interview (He did not mention abt NVC, was that by mistake?). My wife thanked him .. came out of the office and called me shouting ' YEAHHHHH!!!! its approved'. we both are happpy, But i was a bit skeptical and asked her to calm down a little as we do not have anything on paper or email as its approved.

A couple of hours later we got the below automated email from USCIS, which is new ( i never saw something like this, is this normal). Does this mean our petition is approved or NBC will take the final decision as its mentioned below?

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

    Your Case Status: Initial Review

On April 4, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we certified our approval of this case and sent it to the appropriate appellate body for review. They will notify you directly when they make a final decision. If you move while this case is pending, follow the instructions provided in the notice and use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Does this mean we are approved or we need to wait for NBC to send NOA2 to officially celebrate?. sorry for such a long post, but i wanted to give everyone all the details i could, so that it might help you guys.

    Congratulations

  9. Do not believe USCIS, bunch of liars and lazy people. First time when I called they told me my case is still at NBC and after week when I called they said it was transferred to Local office in JAN. Answer suppose to be same because I made both the calls in March. I am really frustrated with the whole process. These people just care about illegal immigrants but they have no sympathy and care for USC. Nola123 had similar situation, I suggest you see her blog.

  10. Ok keep me posted on what happen there today n good luck.

Just came back from Newark. It wasn't bad as people are experiencing at other local offices. I explain officer that my case was filed on Nov 30th and was transfer to Newark on Jan 9. I asked him if he can dig deep in to files and see when I should expect some kind of communication. He asked me to sit, he went inside and came back after 20 mins. He asked me about my marriage date and I told him its Feb, 7, he said it says 7/2, so I told him in india they usually write that way, he said he thought so but just wanted to ask me, then he asked me that my marriage was registered in Sep, So I told him I left right after my marriage and could not register, so I went back in Sep and register. He said it is not relevant. Here find exact words .... " I looked in to your file and it looks good to me. I do not think you will receive an RFE, but its all up to the officer who is looking over your case. I looked at your documents and your wife's documents, I do not think anything is missing at this point. You should expect some kind of communication soon. The officer who is looking at your files is currently working on cases which was transferred in Dec and he will take the cases in order it was received". He did not say how many days but He did everything he could and I felt satisfied. I got detail information both the time I visited Newark.

You should definitely go. I believe it will make difference.
