  1. hello dwheels and friends here,

Well my day went like this call NVC early and the lady said your case is complete and you are now waiting on an interview date.

Call back on Monday or wait for your email notice.

I said ok thank you and the call ended.

Two hours later and I got two emails from USCIS one saying my case is at USCIS and in AP.

the other said my case was being updated to go and check the website for information.

I then call NVC and the lady said they still have the case and to ignore anything from USCIS and to protect my email address.

Then she stops and says we have an interview date for you. I said what? she said you have just been given an interview date

just one hour ago. She said your interview date is September 10th. I was so speechless. I said thank you and hung up the phone,

Then it hit me and I was yelling and screaming. omg I was so happy...

What a way to find out... BUT we have an interview date and that is what matters.

  2. It happened to me tooo!!!! This is the first time i am hearing/ heard of rescheduling interview dates by the consulate. We were initially scheduled for an Interview in July as well (which is after 2.5 months from closing our case) and My wife recieved a call from the consulate. When asked for a reason, she was told to contact the people who scheduled the interview and there will be no mails sent (Seriously...??? ####### are you to calling me then?).... I called up the Consulate to check the call was not a fraud and to ask for a valid reason and it was told that it was due to the Holidays.. I have no idea what holidays on this planet falls between those days.. However, I have written an email to the consulate mentioning that we had travel reservations already made for the dates as per the initial letter. I have mentioned that I am not willing to shell out a good sum of money for the unknown holidays reason. I am a US citizen and i deserve every right to know.

What is the new date for interview?

  3. what is really wrong with this indian embassies?

Not sure if the issue is with embassies, seems everything is going wrong at NVC. How is it possible that Delhi and Mumbai embassies have no appointment slot available in Aug. If they are so busy then why don't they cancel some non immigrant appointments and take immigrants as their priority. Almost getting to 3 months in NVC. Cant believe this is happening. Very sad and frustrated.

  4. Thanks for the update Robinhood.

I actually got a bit excited when I saw that you posted in the topic, but who are we kidding!

I wonder how is it possible for NVC not to schedule any appointments for the whole month of August for India.

Highly doubt that all the dates in August are filled up with the non-immigrant visa applicants!

Usually during Aug many student visa applicants are taking appointments. I am wondering if that maybe the reason for no dates for Immigrants but then not a single date is unbelievable. Some of the July interview were reschedule to Aug due to rainfall in Mumbai and Delhi.

  5. I think we made a terrible mistake by becoming USC before marriage. It may have given us other privileges, but waiting for a mere interview date for a month is simply awful. We can't plan ahead with our lives and just spend each moment in agony. While the non-immigrant visa applicants get to pick and choose dates for their interview!

I think the stress from this journey has officially taken few years away from us.

You are absolutely right. Since 2010 I have changed 5 jobs just so that I can stay with her. She moved to Canada for a year so that I could visit her every weekend. I feel that because of this broken immigration system, I am pushed back so much in my life. I am depressed and sad. It is hard to work and concentrate on my career. I know few who came on student visa and brought their wife along and they sometimes laugh at me just because I am USC and I am suffering. Some of my wife's friends are here even tho they got married last year because they are non immigrant. Can you imagine what we are going through. K1 is faster than CR1/IR1. Very frustrating and sad situation.

  6. Same here. I see student visa holders bringing their spouses and kids right away with no delay and with bare minimum income and then depend on some kind of welfare, while citizens and permanent residents who have strong ties and intention to make the US their permanent location has to wait months and months to bring their immediate relatives.

illegals have more rights then we who chose to go on legal path. Student visa or Work visa holder can bring their spouse along but we who pay taxes and are American citizens do not have rights. I do not believe in current immigration system. If they want to change something then they should start with helping Citizens first who wants to bring immediate family rather then talking about legalizing illegals.
