First- let me say I agree with everything discussed below. Just spreading the word and getting others' opinions as I believe this is the most important election of my lifetime and possibly many others. Thanks!
    POSTED BY KATHLEEN LEE
Dr. Krauthammer is frequently on the Fox News Channel. He is an M.D., a lawyer and is paralyzed from the neck down. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their children.
Last Monday was a profound evening, Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the Center for the American Experiment. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned and articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fearmonger nor an extremist in his comments and views. He is a fiscal conservative, and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally. Even two Democrats at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free ...
    Summary of his comments:
    1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions. It's very hard to know what's behind the mask. The taking down of the Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment.. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.
    2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton .. He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite.Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES!
    3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA on Great Britain or Canada.
    4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada .. God forbid!
    5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he DOES, not what he says..
    6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States, but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate and coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America, as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!
    7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist.
    8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Republicans are pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty and Bob by Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and state's rights.
    9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don't have. This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse. No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The Media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a Pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.
    10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed; fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Democrat would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was.
    11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will be hard, but we're right on most issues and can reclaim our country, before it's far too late. Do yourself a long term favor, send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's futures depend on our good understanding of what is really going on in DC, and our action pursuant to that understanding!! It really IS up to each of us to take individual action!! Start with educating your friends and neighbors!!!
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the play by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 billion annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans.."
Please pass this on to everyone including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader?
REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT....."Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?"
If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over.. If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them.
Please pass this to everyone. I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why this is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king...

You don't have a job. You want to bring her here. Instead of trying to find a way to support the both of you in the US, you would rather hang in the Philippines. That's not a great plan.
Be a grown up. Endure the separation like many other couples. Go get a job to support yourself and your future wife. Sacrifice a few months together to prepare for a lifetime together.

We Are The Art reacted to HeatDeath in "They were spinning their centrifuges faster!"
Both quotes in that graphic have technical errors and gross oversimplifications, but the bottom one is so wrong it's probably fake. Nuclear professionals wouldn't make the mistakes that quote does. Centrifuges are not spun "to make fission occur". That's ridiculous bs. Nuclear reactors don't work that way, and even if they did, that would have nothing whatsoever to do with the manufacturing of nuclear weapons.
There are several different kinds of uranium that occur in nature. They are all uranium, but some kinds have more neutrons in their atomic nuclei than others. When you want to make a nuclear bomb, you need large amounts of extremely pure uranium of a very specific kind, with a very specific number of neutrons. If you have uranium atoms mixed in with the wrong number of neutrons, your nuke won't explode. So it is very important to separate your uranium into the different kinds, so you only use the right kind in your bomb. Centrifuges are used to purify the uranium and sort it into the different kinds, so you can make sure that you're using only the right kind in your bomb, and that there isn't any other kind mixed in there. a single centrifuge can only sort a very tiny quantity or uranium, and needs to run for months or years continuously to do so, which is why uranium purification facilities run literally thousands of centrifuges.
So the bottom quote is silly. I don't know what they think Iran is using centrifuges for, and it's pretty obvious they don't know what centrifuges are for.
Now Ryan's quote is also, at the very least, badly oversimplified on the technical points. It is true that running a centrifuge faster will purify the uranium faster, and get you the necessary quantity of pure uranium to build a bomb that much quicker. However, the bottom quote is correct, at least in this area - centrifuges are designed to run at a specific speed, and you can't overdrive them by very much without causing damage to them. In the worst case scenario, a centrifuge running too fast would suffer a structural integrity failure and explode, making an enormously toxic mess over a radius of a few dozen feet on the factory floor.
A reasonable interpretation of Ryan's quote is that Iran is actively attempting to reengineer and retool their centrifuges to run as fast as possible, and are making every attempt to purchase and use as many centrifuges as possible that are as fast as possible.

Fast forward --There was no riot, The Video had nothing to do with the attack. It was a coordinated attack by our enemies.
The Obama administration lied and blamed it on intelligence failures. For once i agree with them. Lack of Intelligence caused the deaths.

Instead of worrying about a rouge Islamic state that has vowed to nuke Isreal off theface of the earth as soon as it gets weapon, you laugh and smirk.

So, why the sudden and unexpected change in normal/average processing times?
When I called USCIS to inquire about the delay (which the USCIS itself recommends if/when your application runs beyond the normal/average time of 5 months) I was told the delay was due to "higher than expected numbers of applicants" overwhelming the system. I am certain this overflow is directly connected to the "executive order" issued by Obama in June of this year (Google it) which grants "children" ("children" up to 30 years old!) of illegal aliens exemption from deportation under existing immigration law. (When you call USCIS the pre-recorded message you hear even states that there is a "special" department newly established to handle all such applicants expeditously) The latest word from USCIS also indicates they are now transferring thousands of cases (as is evident from numerous recent posts here on VJ) to other offices in order to facilitate this huge influx of applicants, is it any surprise that so many legally filed cases are being unduly delayed? "Immigration Reform" my a** !
We who have filed for our loved one's to enter this country legally, and paid the required fees, and secured all of the necessary documents, and waited so very patiently, and jumped through all of the bureaucratic hoops, and literally placed our very lives at the mercy of a system which strictly dictates whether or not our chosen partners are "worthy" of admittance, are being forced to accept these conditions whether we like it or not! I brought $10000 with me so that helped until I was able to work...
Now we have no credit card debt whatsoever, don't owe the IRS, have not had any late payments for anything in 7 years and have FICO's of almost 800! (no substitutde for hard work and self-discipline!)
I think one of my poll questions would be - was the US Citizen completely truthful to his/her significant other before they arrived about their financial situation/history?!!!

We Are The Art reacted to Gary and Alla in Maine mayor tells Somalis to 'leave your culture at the door'
Burlinton has a lot of refugees. They come from all over but are made up of three primary groups.
Bosnians, Somalians and Citizens of non-slavic Former Soviet Republics, such as Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, etc. Alla makes a pretty good part time job of interpretting for the last group until they learn English.
The Bosnians and FSU citizens quickly adapt, they learn the language, dress in western manner and often own businesses, they work in the community all over, just like any other nationality. The students Alla had in her ESL classes quickly move along to the next levels if they are Bosnians or FSU citizens. They are soon doing well and she loses them as students and interpretation clients...which IS the idea. She feels well when they say "Thank you, but I think I can try going to the doctor myself"
Somalians on the other hand, rarely attend the classes, when they do they stare out the wondoews, do not participate and soon leave. They dress in traditional clothes which look like they took all their drapes or bedsheets and covered themselves with them. They do not work in the community, have no businesses that I am aware of. They all live in some areas which have been set aside for refugees, places formerly occupied by Bosnians, Georgians, Armenians that have moved on and have their own places.
The Mayor in Maine is exactly correct. If they want to succeed in this country, yes they need to assimilate to the culture of this country. To usggest otherwise is to simply keep them dependent on others for handouts. There is nothing wrong with keeping tradition...heck, we do not wear shoes in the house and Alla eats that stinky Russian fish, and there is always a pot of borscht in the refrigerator, vereneki in the freezer, prenicki for cookies...but they have all l=earned the language, drive cars, work in the community and basically adapt to the life here and are independent. Anyone sayign "we" need to adapt to "them" is simply saying they want to keep these people isolated, controlled and dependent so that they stay that way.
    I agree with the mayor.

We Are The Art got a reaction from JE06 in Vermont Service Center 6 MONTHS for NOA2????
In our case, VSC received our I-129F on February 13 2012, we finally received our NOA-2 on September 17th. 7 months & 4 days = 215 total days! And yes it is SO frustrating to see some receive theirs within 30 - 40 days but, what can one do but wait? I was one step away from calling my Congressman when the NOA-2 finally arrived but at least it is now "in transit" to the NVC. From what I'm hearing, (per the service I hired to assist with our application) there is also a slowdown occuring with the NVC which is running approx. 30 - 40 days behind schedule before being forwarded to the Embassy (Manila) and to add to the agony, interview dates for Manila are also running about 2 months behind apparently due to flooding there earlier this year! IF all goes according to the current schedule we will have a total wait time of about 10.5 months. There is a small chance that the process is slowly "catching up" but, there is also an equal chance that some other bureaucratic or technical delay will occur before this agonizingly slow ordeal is finalized. Still, we are indeed thankful that progress is at last being made.
It's very hard to find any comfort in such prolonged waiting times ie. "more time to prepare" etc.. when the only thing that matters to you is being reunited with your fiancee'. And as far as "forgetting all about" this excruciating process once you are finally reunited, I say BS! This experience has, and will forever, leave me and my fiancee' with deep scarring and a permanent bitter taste in our mouths. While I may sound harsh or even bitter to some who read this, and while I admit to being a little of both in this particular matter, I do also steadfastly believe that we (American citizens) do live in the greatest country on earth and benefit greatly from the freedoms and privileges afforded us as Americans. Despite the bureaucratic difficulties and the other inevitable complexities associated with this great nation which I too often complain about, I am proud to be an American. And, I will look forward to the day that my fiancee' will become my wife and assume her proper position as the newest American citizen.

Come November, I will also not forget to exercise one of my greatest and most valuable Rights as an American...I Will Vote.
May we all secure that which truly makes this the greatest nation on earth; Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Well duh. That is common sense everyone knows that a man is supposed to run the house or it will create problems. Women say they want everything 50/50 but if your not THE MAN of the house a woman will not respect you. The same exact reason women say they want a polite respectful gentle sensitive man then always run to bad boys when they have chance. Demand respect and you will get it Its genetics men are supposed to hunt the animal women folk are supposed to cook it

We Are The Art reacted to Nick + Elizabeth in Vermont Service Center 6 MONTHS for NOA2????
I am right there with you and couldn't have said it better myself. You took the words right out of my mouth! I will forever be angry about the time we have lost. I am 31 years old and have waited my whole life to meet this man. We want a life together and a family. I will not have children after 35 years old as you greatly increase your chance of complications. After 35 a pregnancy is considered a geriatric pregnancy. Certainly, we will want to wait till he has found a decent job before we start trying as well and in this horrid economy who knows when that will be. All this wasted time makes me feel incredibly angry, when we should be beginning our lives together. Instead we're caught up in all of this red tape and the dream act. Yes, I'm not afraid to say Obama will NOT be getting MY vote. I didn't vote for him the first time and I won't be voting for him this time. I feel completely let down by my government at the moment.
However, like you I still believe America is the greatest country on Earth. If I didn't we'd have gone the other way around and be headed to the UK. Still, I'm angry. I'm bitter. I want my fiance here with me. I'm f(@*#*& heartbroken.

We Are The Art got a reaction from Nick + Elizabeth in Vermont Service Center 6 MONTHS for NOA2????
I can't say that I resent the employees that perform this much needed and important service but, I CAN say that I very much resent all of the precious time that has been forever lost.

We Are The Art got a reaction from elmcitymaven in Who DIDN'T meet online??
My fiancee' and I initially met here in Texas over 16 months ago, I was on a business trip and she was here (from the Philippines) on a short-term visa. As difficult as it may be to believe, it was truly love at first sight for us. We filed our I129-F back in early February 2012 and FINALLY received our NOA2 about a week ago. 7 months and 4 days! We have heard that Embassy interviews in Manila are taking about 2 months to be scheduled (allegedly due to the flooding in Manila earlier this year which caused a back-up) so we are yet again waiting very, very patiently for the bureaucratic wheels to turn. If that schedule holds true, we are expecting her arrival in The US sometime in December. Time goes by agonizingly slowly when you are in love and apart, and having "faith" in "the system" is NOT my strong suit but, at least the wheels are turning and since receiving the NOA2 I am more encouraged than ever that this difficult first process will soon be completed. This process will continue for several more years (even after we are married) before it is finalized and we both have accepted the responsibilty of seeing it through to the ultimate end which will result in her becoming an official citizen of The USA. That will truly be the 2nd happiest day of my life, the happiest day will be when we are finally married and together forever. We all suffer during this difficult time, it's simply part of the process.
I believe a relatively small number of dual-culture couples actually initially meet in person, whether in one's own home country or abroad as the case may be. I also believe that there are in fact many differences between those who do VS those who meet initially via the internet. Additionally, I do believe that true love is possible in either case and I commend anyone whom can succeed in this most difficult of human endeavors. True love is as rare as it is beautiful no matter where or how it happens, when it happens between 2 people from different countries the difficulties and rewards are magnified immensely. In our relationship, the odds of us meeting at all were absolutely astronomical. Everything had to happen in the absolutely exact correct way, in the exactly correct time, and in such a perfect fashion that it boggles the mind to even consider how and why. With that said, I firmly believe that we are truly meant to be together despite our vast differences. I suspect the same is true for a large percentage of the other couples here on VJ, much more so than in many so-called "normal" couples whom meet domestically.
What is more interesting to me is the reason behind why so many Americans, primarily American men, (I can only speak from an American/male perspective although I also know that many other men from other Western Nations also seek the same) seek and pursue relationships with women from other countries. I'm sure that is a subject which may be best posed on another forum and will solicit a wide variety of diverse and passionate responses. Suffice to say in my own personal case, and quite by chance(?), I finally found in my Filipina fiancee' all of the qualities which seem to be exceedingly rare in the "typical" American woman. Regardless, I fell in love with HER as the person she truly is, if she had come from Pluto I would still feel the same. I consider myself to be a truly blessed man and to my amazement, she feels the same about me.
Depite the many difficulties involved in obtaining the necessary requirements to marry someone from another country, the wait for a visa is a small price to pay in exchange for securing someone you truly love and whom truly loves you in return. As for me, I would walk on my lips across the Pacific Ocean just to see her smiling face again.
