Ok, got it. Thank you.

Sorry for all the questions. They have him a paper that said he had to remove conditions with an i 751 before Aug 2018. One year, two years...so confusedIt's not two years, it's one year.
-
Can you explain what that is? Can he work? Does he still need the i 551 something? What he has is an endorsed immigrant visa. It serves as a temporary proof of LPR status for 1 year after POE.
-
I just read another post that said the oval stamp is it. And beneath his photo on the visa it says upon endorsement serves as a temp I 551 evidence for permanent residence for one year. But I don't understand why it says one year and it's really 2 years. That part confuses me.

My husband's passport was stamped at the Atlanta poe. It's an oval stamp that says admitted and the date then in ink it has cr1 and a number under it. She said with this you can work, get a driver's license, and some other things. But I don't see anything that says I 551. Is he missing a stamp? Thanks.

Now you can hear it from two people...smile. Same thing happened to us when we were doing the k1. They extended it. Best wishes for the interview.

It's the email NVC should have sent you. The one he has to take to the interview.

Awwww Awesome! Yes I know what you mean about the values many Nigerian men have...family is very important and taking care of them. Am super excited for you two and us. Wishing you a long and strong and forever relationship.I am excited for you! I hope the very best for you!
My hubby too is home and today he is mowing our 2 acre lawn with a push mower and wont let anyone help him! He is sooo cute! I am going to reward him with stew and rice! Being married to a strong, hardworking and protective Nigerian is blissful!!

My husband went to the pick up place two days after it said issued on line and was able to pick it up. But that was in Nigeria. Congrats!

Im so frustrated. Delta.com will only let me search tickets originating from the USA. I need to bring my husband here from Lagos Nigeria. Delta has a flight from St. Louis to Lagos Aug 23 for $1,164. But I can't look up Lagos to St. Louis, so I called them. The lady said the cheapest fare is $2700 !! and that was using the flexible days(round trip because its cheaper that way). I asked her why such the big price difference and she said because it isn't originating here in the states. And she said that was the average fare and I wouldn't find anything cheaper even looking at different dates. I think people on here have found tickets a lot cheaper. Please tell me how you did it.

Thanks everyone. Your answers are very helpful.

Has anyone had any trouble purchasing a plane ticket for their immigrating loved one using a credit/ debit card? Because it was a problem one time. They were asking the person boarding the plane to show the credit card that was used to purchase the ticket. Which of course he wouldn't have because it will be here with me in the states. I know someone was even denied boarding. Specifically, asking about delta. I'll call them and ask too.

I know, right? So many clueless people in charge of such important things...and people's lives.

Even if it says issued? And says its been printed? OK. 14 business??? days from interview? ThanksLagos issues Visa 14 days later just like they say at interview. The website doesn't give any info. Just go pickup after its been 14 days is best (some have had it as early as 10 days but they went to Visa center. ). They know nothing there. Sorry.
Thanks for the congrats and best wishes we've been receiving.

The website went from ready to administrative process and on the 11th it said issued. My husband asked me to call and ask if it's ready to pick up. Because he can't get anyone when he calls. The first time I called the lady said I had to have case number and Passport number so I had to call back with the passport number. I got a person who sounded new and unsure and kept reading a script. Said I had to set up a profile for him so she did that. Then she said he had to wait for an email notification from the embassy. I don't know if she knows what she's talking about. It's Lagos Nigeria. What do y'all think? Ready for pick up?

Thanks for your replies. Yes it's a nail biting time. I'll try to relax. And yes, this isn't the end, there is more to this journey. I'm resting my mind from all the steps that remain. I need a break.

Recently I've seen a couple of approvals in Lagos for cr-1 visas only to be called back for a second interview and delaying or withdrawing the approval over some type of waiver. What's up with that? It makes me nervous because my husband just got approved last week and I'm holding my breath wondering if they are going to call him back.
-
No. He has to wait 10 days to pick up his visa. I'm glad he will be coming in the summer so he can ease more easily into the cold weather. LolAwesome, a huge Congratulations !
:joy:

Contact me when you are settled in and we get together somewhere since we live close !
Will he be able to see his first July 4th fireworks here ?

My husband had his interview this morning. He called me at 9:20am his time and had already had his interview and was approved. Thank you again and again God. He said it lasted less than 10 minutes. We are so happy.
I want to ask some questions. I'm suppose to go online and pay an immigration fee and it asks for an A number. Should he have that now or does it come with the visa?
He's going to go to work where I work (after we take some time off to enjoy this and take it all in) so I want to know how soon he can work...like does he have to get a social security number first, or a green card, or something and does it take long?
And what is the unopened visa package that the immigration fee web site is talking about?
Anything we should know about entering the port of entry or anything he must have with him?
This site and many wise and terrific people here have helped us tremendously on this journey and I want to say I greatly appreciate you. Thank you so much. I'm sure we will still have more questions and hopefully will also be able to help others by answering some from our own experience.

Yep last flight is 6/26. So no more non-stops for me to Nigeria. :protest:Good thing my husband will be here.
I'm so happy for you. I know it's been a long bumpy journey for you. I hope you continue to be active here on vj. You are very valuable and much appreciated.
My husband has his interview July 1.

I read a news article that United has permanently stopped flying to Nigeria or anywhere in Africa.
