Yup, going prepared with a joint sponsor to the interview is an EXCELLENT idea! That way, if they do request one, you can hand over the papers right away and save you time in AP.
That is a great idea. Even though I'm not really close to being under the dollar amount, I may get co-sponsor paperwork ready just in case. Better to be prepared for anything!
Thanks Saylin and Julie B!!
HI folks,
Good new for today is that i just received my Case number and IIN.
Bad news is that they assigned US EMBASSY IN ISLAMABAD FOR INTERVIEW instead of US EMBASSY IN ABU DHABI
I have been living in Dubai from last three years.
Question: if i send them my proof of residency (Copy of residence visa, copy of Overseas National ID card and copy of Emirates ID) will they change the case number?? will this thing cause more delays? Where should i send the request to change the Embassy?
Congrats on your case number!! Sorry that your embassy isn't the one you needed! Hope that someone can help!

Thank you Saylin!! What I was planning on doing for the interview is have my hubby bring the i-864 packet all ready to go from my joint-sponsor and an i864 from myself, since i-864EZ's can't have a joint sponsor and that's what was in the original package. Anyway, would that work?
-
Hey, I have a question...should I be calling to find out if they received and accepted my AOS package? Saylin, you said it takes about a week to review, right? And when they say accepted, it means approved...correct? Or is there some kind of approval process that goes on in the interview? Sorry! I thought I'd be out of questions by now! Thanks in advance!

Or buy an unlimited US skype plan for $6 a month!
but I agree...it doesn't speed things up. We all just call every day because we want fo keep updated as much as possible on our cases. Good luck!
-
Finally good news today--case complete! Woot! "And there was much rejoicing."
Now to begin the wait for the interview date...
(And I got my computer back from the shop, it's a good day.)
Good luck to everyone waiting--may you get great news from the operator too!
*dances*

Awww thank you. I lie no way I cam stay away until Monday you kidding. NVC is our crack and we are the crack heads. Once we get case completed we can go to rehab heaven with our hunni's. hehe
I know I can't blame you...I wouldn't be able to wait either.
Anyway, call me addiction recovery then, because my AOS is paid! Can't believe it!!
-
Come on girl don't give up! Though waiting until Monday will probably help your stress level a little bit!
-
Thanks, Saylin! Yes, you're right. I was meshing the wording of the AOS cover letter instructions with the instructions in the NVC's e-mail with the DS-3032.
It's so funny, I get all excited about stuff and no one gets it...I'm like, I got to pay a fee today! And get funny looks....
Glad to have you guys! Esp. you Saylin!
-
i was finally able to pay the visa bill. i have everything ready to be sent in.
congrats!!
-
Okay, answered my own question about the DS-3032 - I knew it but I just wanted to be 100% sure because sometimes I get confused. In the packet the NVC e-mailed us, it states that it's not necessary for electronic processing. OK!
-
Look at you showoff. Congrats. isn't it funny. Bet we never thought we would be congratulating people or ourselves on paying a bill. LOL
I know, as someone earlier on this forum said, we know the government has had an effect on us when we're excited to give them money!
Oh and thanks! Hang in there, girl, your case should reach the NVC any day now!
-
Hey, so I got an e-mail with the DS-3032... Ignore it, right?
Oh and my AOS fee was available today!! Not until the late afternoon though. Just paid it!
-
I feel like I been left "Home Alone" and my family don't know I am gone. No wa ooo! Come back, Come back! Come and get me Winniiieeeeee, Danaaaaaaaaaaa
:crying:
Okay I am bored at work and want to vent. Stressin needlessly, AOS anxiety. I just want that in and looked at and approve. Come on now.
UGH I SO KNOW THAT FEELING!! Hang in there!!!! it should get there any day now!
I'm seriously feeling for ya babe! Wow, this is like waiting for the USCIS procedure, but we can call and get a "no" everyday instead of just typing in a number and seeing it is not moving. I'm not really sure which is worse. I just know WAITING is the ABSOLUTE WORST...when you want to see your baby.
I'm headed out to lunch. Text a sista'! And keep calling!!!
I don't know either....the USCIS was like, checking constantly...now that I'm in the NVC that's what I'm doing..... But it's so much easier to check than to call the NVC and be on hold for 20 minutes, yet during those 20 minutes you get the happy hopeful feeling of maybe it's today, or, yeah, I'm getting something done by calling the NVC. Only to be disappointed and trying not to get frustrated!
Concrete planning HA. Like you can't buy tickets for your love one home (at least you shouldn't) until Visa is at hand. Heck some folks get approved told pick up Visa in x days and still issues. This process has finally finally wore me down. Just want to sleep Rip Van Winkle. Wake me when its over.
Wake me up when September ends!!
hmmmm about the interview, i say BRING IT ON.... need it now more than ever...... LOL at concrete planning, you can say that when you have the visa in hand,
i know, right??
-
Ok, that's what I thought!
thanks Saylin! You rock.

Remember, the DS-261 has no connection with the AOS bill. The DS-261 is part of the IV track, as is the IV bill.
It's optional. But I recommend it. I included one in both our AOS and IV packages.
Yes that's true, Saylin! But I guess it's a good day since they let me log in and do the DS-261 the same time they are creating the AOS invoice. That is what's happening when they're not letting me log in anymore, right?
My AOS package was approved today. I know it's just a small step, but, I'm still happy. Initially, I was like "pffft, no biggie." But, now, I'm on cloud 9. And 6 days! I think that the government is trying to make it up to us for making us wait 157 days between our NOA1 and 2.
Whoopie!
Congratulations!!
-
Okay, guys, my payment portal's blocked and my 261 was available to submit!! So I just submitted it and printed out the confirmation pages! I guess I should be getting the AOS bill soon!
I put myself as the agent.
Okay, so excited!
-
Just got off the phone with an agent who told me there are no updates on the case.
I at least expected them to know of the DS-3032. She said that they haven't even asked for it yet.
Is it possible that I sent my DS-3032 too early? Should I resend? Are there any consequences for resending it?
The AOS disappeared from the payment portal on Friday morning. I am hoping I get to pay the invoice today. I feel my case is moving very slowly. Is it just me, or are others experiencing this too?
I think everyone's experiencing this right now!! >.< The NVC is behind on processing...maybe because of the new waiver policy in June? Who knows. Hope we get our invoices today!
-
I thought you could but to be on the safe side I am going to have my wife do them in Juarez
Yeah, that's what we're planning too.
-
Oh and I have my Affidavit of Support packaged scanned and ready to go as soon as I get the bill and pay it and all.
and....
no joint sponsor! wish me luck!
-
If you have an ASC in your area you can do the ASC but medical and interview both have to be in Juarez
Good to know!!
Let me know about the medical stuff...can you get vaccines before you go or is it best to just do it there in case they didn't like the ones you took in your hometown?
-
And I thought waiting for the NOA 2 was hard.
I know, right??Since everyone says that this part is faster you think it's gonna fly by, but..maybe that's why it feels longer! Hang in there!!!
Guys guess what I just got my case #, IIN, and Beneficiary ID and gave my e-mail address!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!
 CONGRATS TO YOU!
thanks girl!
-
Just called NVC to find out about my interview date. The operator said "You should call back in the 3rd week of August to find out the interview date"
*cryyyyyyyy*
lolz
Don't cry! You know they're not telling the truth!
-
It won't let me edit it...it would be cool to update this a little bit.
