Thanks, Saylin! And yes. I filed for 2011 and I requested my tax transcripts. I didn't file for 2010 because I didn't meet the income requirements. I guess I should file anyway? There are ways to file for past years.

Thank you, Sheehskabelle and Amenspanglish! My husband had a rough time at the border this morning and I started to get a little paranoid.
You're welcome! Good luck!

I have some questions, can anyone help? Thanks in advance!!!
I'm just trying to make sure I have everything ready to go for the NVC process because I want to quickly get through it, and I do pretty much, EXCEPT:
My boss still has done nothing regarding W-2s, paystubs, and since I'm a nanny it's not like the family has a company letterhead to write my employment letter on. I'm getting a little nervous, now that I know that on the USCIS website it says that all sponsors need to submit proof of current employment.
Luckily, I have a joint sponsor who has paystubs and the last 3 years' tax transcripts.
But nothing for me.
What should I do?
I also have some questions about the DS-260. I changed my address with USCIS after sending the i-130. The change was successful. I now receive my mail at my new address. However, when we fill out the DS-260, it will ask for where the intended immigrant plans to live in the U.S. and the i-130 has my parents' address. If I put my new address as the where he plans to live in the U.S., will the NVC stop and say, hmmm...the address here is different than on the i-130 we received, and therefore delay the process? Should I put my parents' address and just submit a change of address after he gets here? Where I live now isn't where we plan to live either, so I'd have to change it anyway. Just curious what your opinions are about this. So far, that's my plan. Luckily, there is a separate spot for where you want your mail actually sent. *phew*
Okay, last question. Do you need cover sheets with your Affidavit of support and Visa packages in MEP? How does that work? I know there are links to those around here somewhere...
Thanks again for your help! Hopefully this can help others too!

Just got case complete email today!
On the email I received, it showed this:
"The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa."
My husband flew in this morning to spend a few days with me for our 1st year anniversary. Does that mean he can't visit me before our interview? Or does that just mean that he shouldn't plan on moving down until he gets his passport back after the interview, which he isn't planning on doing?
Congratulations!
The second one. They just don't want people to get all ready to leave and plan to move and then get denied at the visa interview.
Congratulations on your anniversary, and best of luck!!
I accidentally sent out DS-230 to the NVC, my invoice is still processing...will it be a problem?
Shouldn't be a problem. By the time it gets there, your invoice should process.

Oh my, reading all of this makes my stomach churnnnn.. I think I need to buy some popcorn! Lol! I like that attitude!

Wow this week has gone by very fast! I've had NOA2 for almost a week now...can't wait to get my case number and get this show on the road!!

Grats on getting your interview date!
O is referring to original documents (like birth and marriage certificate), whereas Y are other things, just not necessarily originals (like the photocopy of the bio-data page of the passport).
All you should need to bring to the interview:
-interview letter
-passport
-medical results (if not sent directly by the panel physician)
-passport-style pictures (2 required in Canada)
-proof of relationship
I still recommend bringing a copy of everything you've submitted (in addition to what's required). It's always good to have everything, for that "just-in-case" reason.
I highly suggest doing EP as it's cheaper (don't have to send packages!) and easier. So, you just scan your originals/certified copies then bring them to the interview where they'll check it over then return it to you.
And hehe, glad my FAQ was helpful!

Saylin:
Technically, you only need one original/certified copy of the birth and marriage certificates. Photocopies are sent to USCIS, and the originals/certified copies are sent to NVC. You don't bring new certified copies to the interview as the consulate/embassy already has the ones from NVC.
Not to say it's bad to have multiple certified copies (I myself ordered 3 certified copies of my birth certificate, along with my husband who ordered multiple certified copies of his birth certificate and our marriage certificate), but it's not needed in this process (unless it gets lost).
Thanks, Saylin! I'm going to probably do MEP, in which case I will need originals at the interview (since you scan to NVC). I guess that's why I got confused! By the way, I printed out your FAQ sheet! Your info is so helpful! Thank you!!!
And...CONGRATS to everyone who got their interview dates! I'm a few weeks behind y'all I hope! Happy trip planning! Whoo-hoo!
-
Sounds like fun stuff! *prepping myself with lots of perserverance and annoying call-making*
I recommend to all that you order a few certified copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc. because not only do you need them for the NVC stage, but for the interview as well. I'd rather have too many than too few!
Anyway, glad to see those case numbers! Can't wait until I get mine and get this show on the road!

Okay! Good to know! Thanks!

Good to know! Good luck!

Asking if they received your case, I called 2-3x per day.
Thanks! I guess they're used to it.
-
Thank you for posting! So helpful! ! !
Just got NOA2! I just have one question.
In the info it says to call the NVC a week after NOA2 and every day after that... Asking what? Won't they get mad if you're buggin them every day?
Best of luck to everyone with your Interview Dates!
-
Has your case closed with the NVC yet?
In your Affidavit of Support packet, you need proof of your current employment. W-2, recent pay stubs, or an employment letter with company letterhead stating the annual salary should work.
Also, I think copies of your tax returns are good, but I also recommend ordering your tax transcripts from the IRS. It's free and should arrive in about 2 weeks if you have time.
-
From what I've seen, it usually takes about 4 weeks to get your case number from NVC. Go to the place where you got married to order a certified copy of your marriage certificate
Oh and congratulations! And good luck!

Thanks!
and good luck!

Thanks!! Glad my approval announcement still helped cheer you up!

Thanks Cori and Rob. Like I said, i know the feeling! Glad to know this lonely wife can hang out with y'all too. Haha

Hey guys I'm really sorry! I didn't realize this forum was for i-129F only!! I thought there were i-130s here too and that they were similar. We did a long distance engagement (and now we're long distance again) so I know how you feel! Best of luck, and again, sorry!
I called the USCIS today and got no where. But they did say to expect an approval in the next month and they had all of my information.
That's what they told me. I think I just got lucky but within the next month is still good news! Best of luck!

Thanks guys! Bring on the approvals!

And scott76, don't worry! I'm sure she'll understand!

What was on the AOS checklist that you didn't send? Just curious.
If you've paid the IV fee, you can go ahead and mail the package.
