When approved, they are sent to the DHL counter to pay for the visa delivery. You can ask for them to be delivered to a home address or stay at a DHL office for pick up. We picked up in Kingston. The visa's are ready anywhere between 5 days and 3+ weeks. There is no rhyme or reason why some are quicker or longer.

YES!
Trade marking as we speak so you guys need to get this AOS thing outta your system.
Ahh Mr Smiley makes an appearance. I'm thinking Kennard is currently ROCing since he's been MIA for 3 months.

the post office is the cheapest and most reliable you will probably find
Agree. I think thats its because your in Washington. Thats far traveling to JA.

Some of my friends call it rum cake or black cake. Eat too much of it on an empty stomach and it make you drunk.
Pinkrlion - I wish you the best on your up coming wedding. I have been married now for 15 days and getting ready to file the Adjustment of Status paperwork.
So Mr Smiley....you're busy AOSing huh!!??
Its nice when its finally in the mail! Hopefully well get his GC in a Jan/Feb. I need to call them today and make sure they have the correct address for us. It took 3 attempts to get the EAD. I'm not going through that again.

Thanks. Is the Ceritifcate of Non Impediment really necessary? I was told by many that they really dont ask for it. Someone from the embassy said that to someone I know. But, you are right, I will start getting the other stuff together. Also, I'm planning to get the interview expedited as well. Thanks for the words of encoragement.
Required?....yes. Regardless if they look at it or not...bring whatever they ask for. Be organized and prepared.

Just follow the steps they tell you. I moved and notified them. It was easy and did not impact anything. The sooner....the better.
-
He should have received a document indicating what the embassy wants to see. Ask him to scan it to you. The directions for the next step should be on there as well. Meaning getting an interview back on the books. The reason you may not be getting too many people responding to "WHY" they need these documents...you may not ever get the answer to. While it may show my profile as a newer VJ member...I go waaaaaaayyyy back. I dont recall seeing too many cases whereas the Jamaican was previously married. I suggest not focusing on the WHY but the HOW. How to get the documents needed and how to get the interview.

We'll never know why they request the things they do. Just look at it as a task and not a personal attack on you. Provide them the full divorce decree (like Darnell sugguested). Once you have it, request the blue slip interview (which are very eau to get in JA) and wait. You've made it this far. Keep moving foward.

Hang in there FB14!!! We all know how frustrating it is. Start getting the other documents together. Have him start getting his non-impediment and police report. Start getting your packet together. Get him to sign and return the DS-230. The quicker you get these things in place...the quicker you can get that interview date. It will soon come!!!

agree with previous response....no

so, what result from today?
wellll...kind of said the same thing about the 60 days. But he strongly stated, "Will it take 60 days??...probably not". He said as soon as they get the card back, it immediatly re-issued. 1-2 day turn-around. He says that they are waiting for each system to correct the address and then its kicked back out. He says "hopefully very soon". I dont know if it was his sympathic tone, but I believe him.
Thanks again for your help!!!

thanks Darnell!!

do it exactly as I wrote, above, using a telephone.
Good Luck !
Okay...but what is an ISO?
-
hmmm...yes I did write National Benefits Center, but I did call the USCIS per the website. What is an ISO? After speaking to the oh so helpful "Jessica" for 30 minutes...I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was then placed in a que with a hold time of 25-45 minutes. I just do not get how they know every step of the way (ie approved, card production, returned, when I called) date by date, but they cant tell me anything else then you need to wait another 60 days before I should be concerned. LMBO!
Oh..and another thing "Jessica" recommended was that I schedule for an infopass meeting. Really??? would this really help? or is this shutting me up and getting me off her phone?
-
ah - returned mail !
I know you wrote 'national benefits center' but ...
I suggest you call into USCIS National Call Center, get an ISO,
inquire about returned mail pieces
then go over the address again, also asking that the returned mail piece be sent out again using that updated address.
Good Luck !

Hi
My husband's EAD card was approved on October 29, mailed November 2nd. Checked the USCIS website and it stated that it was flagged undeliverable. Found out that they omitted a letter on the apartment address. Corrected the address with National Benefits Center on November 8th. As of today, Nov 18, still no card. When I call, they say we have to wait 60 days and that there is no other information that they can provide.
Has anyone had this issue? If so, did it really take 60 days to get the card? If not, how quickly did it get turned around?
Thanks!

One way will do. That's what the airline told my husband to buy when he was migrating. As others have said, it is best to compare the cost and see which has the best value for you.
agree! We bought 1 way as well. But searched to see which would be cheapest.

On the blue slip there is an email address. You just email them stating that you now have the documents needed and to please schedule a blue slip interview. I called the DOS and they told me the date. I then emailed the embassy just to be confirm and they emailed me as well.
email adrees: kingstonIVappointment@state.gov

Hello Visa Journey!! My husband had has interview yesterday 11/9/2012. He said he was asked where we met, who introduced us, etc. The IO reviewed all the documents and said everything was in order; However, he was still given a blue form requesting more evidence. I was scheduled for C-section on 11/8/2012 so our daughter was only 1 day old when my hubby was doing his interview. The IO is requesting a copy of the birth certificate and photocopies of my passport pages with the stamps showing travel. I was very disapppointed because I did not think they would request a copy of the birth certificate since I was just released from the hospital today. I will be sending the info to the embassy in Jamaica via email on Monday just very disappointed because we are going to have to wait for them to schedule another appointment for them to review these documents.
Blue slip interviews are very quick to get and to get in there and process. We got a blue slip too. Got the additional paper work they wanted and got the interview 9 days later. It can be even quicker than that. Good luck!

If you were approved your husband will receive a green card a little while after he enters the US. Your attorney is trying to get more money out of you for nothing. Unless you have a difficult situation. The entire process can be done without the assistance of an attorney. You will have to apply at the office for his SS card.
Agree!!
