If your passport is valid, then your passport is the ultimate proof of citizenship.
-
Congrats!! DONE- how about that!
Hello guys!
My husband's interview was today and he passed with flying colors
His Oath ceremony will be held this Saturday August 13th.
Good luck to everybody else. I am so glad we are finished. We started in 2012 with the K-1 VISA and now my husband is almost a US citizen

Just get a good lawyer and go for it...ya never know!

Fair enough...just curious as I said...
It isn't a blanket statement but more of an observation followed up by asking fellow filers to comment. We have seen the old applicants process more quickly through their field offices using the old application. We know there are variations in time from applicant to applicant but have not seen any information contrary to this. Further, the USCIS initially published mandatory use of the new application in early May, then moved it to August and has now switched it to October. When you factor few if any IOE are moving with the fact that USCIS has set three different dates for use of the new system, it is alarming. That is why questions about the IOE are asked here becasue that is what forums do--ask each other questions. Yes 5 months is the standard but at my field office, NBC applicants have been running 4 months with inline coming in month 3--that hasnt happened with others.
Just an observation
-
Where does blanket statement "NBCxxxxx cases move faster than IOExxxxx" come from? It looks like 5 months is generally the timeline for N-400s and it has been for a while now. However, each field office can be slower or faster...by a handful of weeks...so most of us should be getting noticed next month and September for our interviews...As I said just curious what's the basis for the speed of application process (IOE vs NBC)

Just the one you need your visa stamp in
Hi All,
I have multiple passports - australian, german and a United Nations Laissez Passer. I am the beneficiary of the K1 visa application.
Do I include copies of all passports? I have traveled to the US on my Australian passport on 10/2015 (to visit fiancee) and will visit on 08/2016; and on the UN passport in 11/2015 (for work). In 2008 I traveled to the USA on my previous German passport.
Nowhere in the I129 F form does it say to include a copy of the beneficiaries passport - or have I just overlooked this?
I think I should include them, as I am showing entry stamps into the US as proof of visiting my partner, but I am worried that the different numbers on the documents will be confusing.
Finally, I will apply for the K1 visa at the US embassy in Australia as an Australian citizen
Thanks!

Nope since you are not coming in...
I will likely be out of vacation time due to wonderful trips to see my fiancée so I may not be able to go fly with her when she comes to the USA. Atlanta will be the POE. My question is can I meet her at the airport before she goes through customs/immigration. I want to be there with her when we do this and was wondering.

I'd say if shot of whiskey can't fix it take another ..
also keep the faith...it happens
I have just spent the past two hours painstakingly filling in the DS-160 online.
It has locked me out twice. The first time I didn't even take a note of my application number so had no way to get it back up on my screen.
This time I saved it the whole way along, got locked out even though I had been saving it as '20 minutes' had passed since I last saved which is not true, had hit the save button EVERY page of the way.
I tried to log back in using my application number, date of birth and secret answer and it won't let me in.
At this stage I feel like simultaneously crying/screaming anyway as the whole form is RIDICULOUSLY thorough and I have spent FOREVER trying to ensure my answers are correct.
I am so hormonal (girly time of the month) and this stupid form is about to break me.
Any help/ideas?
-
even if you do...look for your city...everything else is irrelevant...different localities process at different speed
Whatever you do, DO NOT look through the March 2016 filers page found here. Their in-line, interview, and oath ceremony dates will make you cry.
Seriously, DON'T DO IT!
-
Yeah, I think we are all just ready for this to be over and done with it...It seems to be 5 monts is the norm...now the timeline might have shifted somwhat, but not too bad..
Yes to Cheezees .They basically told me that and said if I don't hear anything in 60 days then I can call them back.Lets just cross our fingers and hope they get to May filers soon.
-
Same here IOE number ....Bio done June 7th...no updates.
I am a June filer myself. Has anybody on this forum with an IOE receipt number gotten an inline-for-interview or interview-scheduled notification. Based on my research on the web, no one with an IOE receipt number has gotten farther than the biometrics stage. I would love being proven wrong :-(. I had hoped that with IOE receipt numbers things would go faster than NBC receipt numbers but sadly it appears that the opposite is the case.

Well, it looks like things are pickin' up in Dallas...USCIS processing times has just updated their processing times: as of May 31st they are working on Dec 2nd (last update was on October 22nd on April 30th ). Soooo....since this was a month and a half behind I'd say they are already on mid Jan early Feb ....so May filers in Dallas maybe 2-3 more months
...Wishful thinking but I hope it is more than just that.
-
All I can tell you is keep calling them...That is only thing you can do now
Just got off the phone with NVC, still nothing.
-
You need to file work authorization permit in conjunction with your AOS ...then she can work...takes about 60 days
I was under the impression from my immigration lawyer she is able to work in the US as she has applied for a SSN and is authorized to work. You are able to work with a K1 visa.

I guess it's promising...Thnaks
This was discussed here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/593952-in-line-for-interview-exactly-1-month-before-anniversary/ and I can personally confirm it worked for me. We had a lot of early filers in March thread, just check the timelines most early filers were placed in-line for interview right on spot 30-days before, and a few 1-2 days later.
I hope it works for me too...we'll see in a few days
personally for me, it was exactly 1 month before. check out my timeline !
-
Great- thank you...Few more days to find out
Few people in VJ have made observation based on the timeline/tracker that most of the people who had filed n400 under 90 day early filing and who had their biometrics done early were getting inline for interview update exactly one month before the GC at the earliest but no sooner than that. Others in the same category who didn't get an update were possibly stuck in background checks or had biometrics done late. So it's just based on the trend.
I think there is a separate thread on this discussion about peopke receiving in line for interview update exactly 1 month before the 3rd/5th GC anniversary. -
I was wondering where does this come from
- just curious (and hoping it is right
because I am right there in two days will be 1 month before my anniversary
)
Based on your GC date, the earliest date you can get any updates for "in line for interview" is 7/22/16, one month before you GC anniversary date.
-
Good point...It looks like Dallas is about 3 - 3 1/2 months for interview after Bio....Thanks
Check out the prior months for a good estimation. Good luck!
-
Does anybody have a decent idea what the timeline is for Interview after the bio- I'm guessing 3,4 months but I may be totally wrong...Any insight?
-
For some reason I was never able to log in with cellphone one-time password validation code but email worked...On the separate note when I look at processing times @ https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do and Look at Dallas...updated May 12th for March 31st data...showing processing September 23rd ...so behind in updating...
They are testing out and updating the website. I was able to load and preview the beta version of their site last week and I think they're still making changes. This week every time I logged in, it would send me a one-time password to my email and my phone, although sometimes just using my password worked.
-
That's just plain and simple AWESOME...so fast!! Let's hope that is the name of the game...N400 much faster than any other process...I guess it would make sense since it is the end of the line
That's awesome!! N400 moves much much smoother than the torturous I751. My interview is set for end of June. Good luck in your N400 journey nitehero.

For as long as I can remember biometrics (and before that fingerprints) were always in a separate location. There are a few of them through out the metroplex. I know one in Fort Worth had moved (few times) so not sure where yours is but the process normally lasts for about 10-15 minutes plus the wait. Fairly quick and easy. Your interview and Oath ceremony will be in Irving (field office). They have been separate for at least 20 years here in DFW...If I have to guess I'd say most of biometric testing and verification is run by 3rd party contractor for the DHS...that's why they are in separate locations, plus not all of them are required for immigration purpose...Hope this helps.
Anyone familiar with the N-400 process in Dallas?
We live here and have just received a Biometrics appt - in a location which is apparently several miles southeast of the Dallas Field Office. I assume the Field Office is where interviews take place, which is much closer to us. Surprised at the two being separated. Also, any idea how long the Biometrics appointment generally takes? Ten minutes, an hour? (We did all the previous activities in Spokane, WA and it was very uncrowded and quick, even though far from our then home in Idaho.)
