  1. Hello !

My wife and me are working on putting together this AOS package together.

I have few questions on I-130, please help: (caution :D : They might sound dumb to you but i am just making sure)

    a. It says Family name in CAPS. Do we need to put other names, address etc also in CAPS?

    b. What is the better way: Print the blank forms, then write, and sign OR Type in the forms, save and print and then sign it?

    c. Under other names used, should be put nickname? I am thinking to put NONE to avoid any confusion.

    d. for 14. - arrived as: (i came on HIB) what should i put; WORKER/HIGHLY SKILLED WORKER/H1B

    - Also, the I-94 i entered with was expired long time back, Never went out of USA after that, i got new I-94 after H1B extension which is expiring in Dec 2012. Which one i should use?

    e. For C.17 - List husband/wife and all children of your relative: Here goes Petitioner name or Beneficiary name along with Beneficiary's children?

    f. For 20. What to put here?

    g. For D.1 Separate petition... My wife will be filing for my Daughter as well. So, she need to put her name here here? And relationship - Step Daughter?

I think for today this is sufficient.

If you guys pass this test, i'll give you more :D .

Thanks a lot for your :help: !!

    Take Care !

  2. colombian Food is really good but I'm Saladorean so ofcourse I will make it a mix... I know hubby loves my food... hahaha... (He eats it all and says most of the time that he will have a delicious lunch at work :yes:B-) )

    I guess is just love....

Nice... I always like trying new food... love new flavors.

I'm glad your inlaws love your food.

    mrsGORE & isa30:

Looks like you found a friend in each other.

    Good for you !

Kindly be aware that everybody is reading this(& spending time). It would be a good idea to PM or email each other for the personal discussion that is out of thread scope.

    Just a friendly reminder :ot2:

    Good luck !

  3. Thanks!! I also just realized my current lease expires July 31st and my friend who I rent from said she would be happy to add him to the next lease if we feel it would validate our marriage. She said it's up to me! Either way, she will be working on the new lease this week so I have to let her know ASAP. So yes or no?

Whatever you can get showing both of your names whether its lease, bank a/c, credit card, health/Auto insurance, car titles, Letters, photos, boarding pass, cable/water/power bills etc are good for you.

  4. 2. I only use one big envelope to house all the paperwork, and use paper clips/fasteners to hold the separate forms together. But in reality they take those out right away in the mail room I believe, and put it in their own format.

    a. I believe the intending immigrant needs 7, and the petitioner only needs 1. Check the list I posted earlier. Someone please chime in if I am incorrect.

    b. i have seen other VJers use tabs , etc. if it helps you to organize it, why not ? Ultimately you want to be comfortable with what you are sending.

    c. I believe B/W copies are sufficient.

    Good luck!

Was any form was notarized? or any document?

  5. Well, of course, we want to live together.. But, she's finishing her graduation from Chicago AND working full-time as an internal auditor (she recently got promoted). Even if she transfers her credits to Florida, she has to lose her job. On the other hand, I can easily find a job in Chicago as an IT Analyst, but being on L1 Visa, even if I find a job, I am not legally authorized to work for any employer other than my petitioner.

We are trying to be together as much as possible. We've been meeting every 15 days after our marriage till now.

Without any doubt, I am going to request my employer to transfer me to Chicago, but that might take a couple of months. In the meantime, I do not want to delay the application process. So what should I include in cover letter? (It has to be in the cover letter for I-485 and not I-130, right?) My plans of me trying for a transfer??

Thank you all for all your advice and suggestions.

    - MG

You can search cover letters on this forum. That will serve as checklist as well.

Point here is that are you going to explain your reason for not living together in the cover letter itself?

  6. I'm 9 years older than my husband. We go for our interview next week, I'll update here if the age difference is brought up at all. I've read it's more likely to be an issue when one person's culture looks down on it. That's not an issue for us, since my husband's Canadian.

I didn't do anything different at all on our application with regards to the age difference. I don't really know what we could have done.

only thing i guess you can do just make your application stronger with more evidences, affidavits from family/friends, joint finacial actt's etc.

  7. Hello !

    How the household size calculated?

for ex: My two kids from previous marriage visit us occasionally. I have legal joint custody of the kids with my ex-wife and kids live with my ex-wife. I pay child support.

My present wife will be petitioning for myself, plus one kid (other was born here).

So, how the household size will be calculated for my wife's income? Wife+myself+1 kid OR Wife+myself+ 2kids.

There is no other from my present wife side.

Also, How it works for the salaried person?

Is it gross salary(before tax) that should be above poverty line(125%)?

    Thanks !

  8. My wife is 16 years older than I am. And I've never been more in Love with someone. I've never been this happy in my life. Sometimes I jokingly call her a cougar. We are so deeply in love.

My wife is 12 years older than me. But we love each other, and so involved with each other for the last couple of years that never felt that gap.

My wine is getting tastier as she is getting older :-)

But in practical world USCIS see this as red flag.

Wanted to know if you guys did anything or present yourself/your application in some special way that to

handle this red flag of big age gap?

    If so, please share.

Also is someone (done with AOS) has similar experience, please share your thoughts on this.

    All the best !!

  9. They will take into consideration the gross income of a self-employed person... That's before deductions and such.

are they in good order, specially the pics? I put 2 pics in a zip-bag for I-485 right after G-325a, staple in a blank 8.5x11 plain paper and the same for the I-765 2 pics in a zip-bag staple to a white plain paper and put right behind the form. is it ok??

    - Are you done with I-130?

    - Did you send the evidences for bona-fide marriage?

    - Don't staple, just use clips.

  11. I received the tb skin test on Wednesday and had it read earlier today(Friday) the "nurse" said it was positive and sent me to get x rays. She didn't measure or touch the injection site!!

I noticed that on form I-693 the doctor has to state the size of the reaction right? How are they going to know what to write if they didn't measure my reaction? They also did not ask for I.D prior to examination, I'm very concerned as to what they are going to write on my form!

Any who how is this going to affect my application?

Due to BCG vaccines during childhood, mostly people from Mexico, India, China show exposed to TB.

Next step is to go for chest X-ray and you should be fine. No worries, its' common thing.

At the most you might need to take pills for the next 6-9 months (which is not going to delay your AOS filing).

    Good luck !!

  12. there is no A# for F1 and H1 visa holders. stop trying to find one on ur i797 from h1 approvals. only way to get an a# is to apply for an immigrant visa.

And where USC should see the Alien#? (sorry for dumb question)

She (USC, my wife) was naturalized after gaining citizenship thro' her father.

Also, naturalization certificate mandatory or passport copy can be used in place of that?

If she couldn't find her naturalization certificate, from where we can get new naturalization certificate or just naturalization certificate number?

    Thanks !
