  1. It sucks. It happens sometimes, one doesn't have much control on such things. They also understand this.

You were okay at the time application was sent. so, nothing to worry.

If you get job before interview, and you can update them at the interview then you should be fine.

You should have proper job at the time of AOS even if you lose the job next week.

I don't think you need to do anything now as far as informing the USCIS. Just focus to get new job

    All The Best !!

  2. Still looking for answers to Q13 in I-130:

In Q.13: If you're US citizen, Complete the following:

a- Birth in the USA (Definitely No)

b- Naturalization. Give certificate number & date, & place of issuance (She lost her Naturalization certificate)

My wife was naturalized and now have US passprt.

She lost her naturalization certificate few years back.

    a. So, what we should put in response to Q13 b

    b. We can provide copy of her US passport but that'll be okay?

Looks like getting a new naturalization certificate is a long process and expensive too

Please help if somebody have any info on this. :( :(

    Thanks for your inputs !!

  3. thanks, this is how it looked like. I just copied the photos, 2 to 6 per page in a word document. and printed it, then decided to add dates by hand next to photo, since they didn't had timestamp, i took it from the file date. some images were snapshot from facebook, so they had uploaded date. I hope it works.

I could have make it look better using photoshop (I teach photoshop at the university) but i was lazy and just used microsoft word.

    Thanks @iowanative, Frenchican Flo:

I checked max i can put 3 photos(4x6 size) on one page. How you managed to put more photos per page?

  4. Quite impressive.

    Simple and straight !!

    No need for photo receipts.

    - My (USC Spouse name) Bank statement with highlighted: utilities payment, and partial payment of Wedding dinner and vacation at xxxx

So, did you highlight the transactions showing payments of your utilities?

    - Evidence of 18 months of relationship: 6 pages of pictures since February 2011, including wedding and vacation at xxxxx

This looks interesting. How you did this?

Good Luck with your immigration journey !! :)

  5. Hi Dave&Judy,

    1. Those documents will be sufficient.

    2. If your wife's income is fairly constant year-to-year and should be the same in 2011 as 2012, you could list her income from 2011. (For example, my mom has had almost the same salary for 10 years, so we listed that.) If not, it would be justifiable to simply multiply the hours she expects to work over the year, by the pay rate listed by her employer in the letter.

    3. You do not need to include your own tax returns, since you are the intending immigrant being sponsored and you do not intend to use your income to meet the minimum.

    4. Your wife is sponsoring you (the principal immigrant), so she checks "yes", of course.

    5. I don't have firsthand experience with this, but if your case is a spousal visa petition, it looks like she doesn't need an entirely separate I-864 or a second copy of the supporting documentation -- though you do need to submit a second copy of the I-864 (same to yours), and your wife will need to check the box in question 9 and list your daughter.

    from http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html :

"Does each accompanying family member need separate documents if they are traveling with the principal applicant?

No, however, dependents immigrating with the principal applicant must have a signed original or a photocopy of the principal applicant's Form I-864, and I-864A if applicable. Copies may only be used by dependents named on the principal applicant's original forms."

Another more detailed answer to this question is found at : http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864instr.pdf under "Do I need to submit a separate affidavit for each family member?"

    Good luck!

    1. How to answer Q8 & Q9 for myself & daughter?

    2. Can i just make copy of my I-864 set(form plus supporting docs) for daughter?

    3. OR the I-864 form needs to be filled again for daughter? Do i need to attach copies of supp docs to this new I-864 form?

    Please help

  6. I think you can request to expedite EAD (based on the following, from USCIS site):

    4. Please keep in mind that expedite requests for applications and petitions will be considered based upon the following criteria:

Severe financial loss to company or individual

    Situations of extreme emergency

    Humanitarian situation

Nonprofit status of requesting organization advocating the cultural and social interest of the United States

Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from an official U.S. Government entity, stating that delay will be detrimental to the U.S. Government.)

    USCIS error

    Of compelling interest to USCIS

so, first - call USCIS and make request

If not done, make Infopass and provide the documentation...

    Good Luck :)

  7. Why can't you put "unknown." Are you sure she ever had one? If you get USC through parent you don't have to get your own cert. She has a passport I presume.

She used to have but lost somewhere.

    But my question is that:

Do we have to have naturalization certificate (or number) when we have US valid passport?

Will it be okay if we put "unknown." and provide copy of US passport?

    Thanks Harpa !!!

  8. :time: I am assuming that you are speaking about processing AOS for K-1/K-2 visas, since your timeline is absent. Help others help you by providing some information about your specific visa process.

For more information, please consult the great step-by-step K-1/K-3 AOS guide and K-2 AOS tips guide. All can be easily accessed at the Guides tab at the top of the forum page and at the links provided.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Still working on paper work. Planning to mail out the package in 1-2 weeks.

Nothing for Timeline as of yet, but updated whatever is applicable at this moment.

Again, Do we need to file G-325A for the kids(under 14) as well ?

I think we don't need but just wanted to confirm.

    Thanks!

  9. I would make a single cover letter personally, but it doesn't matter. Make it in a way that is neat; that's the most important part.

And, Ma'am is kind of a rude word at worst or casual at best... in a formal letter you should say Madam, or use the gender-neutral formula, "To Whom it May Concern."

Do we have sample for single cover letter, by any chance?

  10. well me and my wife are married for a year and 2 months..

    we love each other dearly,

we filed the i485 request at july 25.

got my biometrics at end of august.

got an RFE a week or two later , send it a day later back to them.

and 3-4 months later was transferd to CSC..(were from florida)..

i called a year later..july 2012 to say what happend ? i need to speed it up and they approved to expedite it since i told they lady the college needs my GC so i can go to school..

a week later got my approval mail about making it faster.

a week later was transferd to tampa ..

and a month later an AOS interview..

they separated us from the beginning, everything went fine, 10-15 minutes with easy questions and we were out...

    red flags ?

mmm...no joint bank accounts, shes got my credit cards anyway on her...

and me serving in the israeli defence force and had weapon training ?

other then that we got the letter and thats it...

two days out of there and no update on uscis page :S

    were really impatient :(

Any Bona fide marriage or living together evidences submitted?

  11. Dave&Judy, I'm not sure. I didn't do anything. But when the lawyer showed up she had me sign something for them. I would talk to your attorney about that.

You got pretty good price & Attorney too !!

In Bay area, they charge 500-700 just for attending interview.

When the lawyer showed up > You mean when Lawyer showed up at the interview venue? So, we don't need to send anything

to USCIS before interview day just to let them know that some attorney will be joining at the interview?

Just for the interview thing. How it works as attorney hardly know about the couple? How you managed that?
