    It's optional if you want to take the child to the interview, As long as you have your childens birth cert. with you and shows his name on it you should be ok. Now as far as him having a BIG tattoo with your name on his arm, will NOT be considered "proof of relationship". Everything else you should be ok. Good Luck.

    Sorry you are going through this... But at this point it is clear that he want nothing to do with you... I say give it sometime where you both can understand you faults, one more then the other, cause you as a women/his wife did your job, you stood by him, and treated him as one should, but that didn't help. I guess you should let the ball run, until it stops. Eventually he will admit to his bad doing, and have the courage to apologize to what he has caused you. You mention you filed a complain againsit him was that for his Citizenship? Or the green card? Sucks to hear this type of stories after a 10year GC has been issued.
    My prayers go out to you.... Keep your head up!

    As far as him getting the visa Domex must have provided you with a tracking number you can go on to there website see link http://www.domex.com.do/domexrapido/tracking.html, once there you can check the progress of where the visa is. Now tipically it can take anywhere from 7-10 day depending on the messenager...
    I myself had a little issue with getting my husband visa within the time period they said I would get it. But eventually I got it. So I sugguest that you be on top of them and check and call them to get the status of it.
    Good Luck!

    GodsGift225 got a reaction from DeniseD in POlice REport - does it have to be translated
    I DID NOT translate mines and it was accepted... Remember it clearly states "All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC"
    In other words since your police report is coming directly from DR and your are applying for the visa from that country you do NOT need to translated.

    Once you are APPROVED, you will pay DOMEX ($9.50 pick up or $12.50 delivery), You have either options. It's advicable to have it picked up, cause it take to look before you get it delivered by the messenager.
    It depend where you are located there is a domex office in Santo Domingo (Capital) and there is one in Santigo you can have it picked up depending on your residence.

    I must agree with the prior posts, you will be in for a long one, especially knowing he liked to an IO and had his prints, and photo taken, will be staying on file. And the day of the interview they also finger print you there.
    It's a difficult sitution that at the moment you main obtion is to consult with a legal speciality who has actually done this type of work in the past, you will invest lots of money in this process, and above all time... So continue to do your reserch and see where it leads you and how much you will be investing in this situtions, if not look at your other options... Have you consider maybe moving to DR?
    Well I hope and pray you can resolve this situation, and wish you the best of luck!

    You can take it to the canceleria, But if he got it legalized you have nothing to worry about. The problem with the canceleria is that if he isn't found in the foil book, and/or register is will be an issued, cause that's where everything is kept.

    FYI don't get the extracto you actually need the "INEXTENZA" acta de nacimento, Although in some case it has been accepted as extracto, But from what I was told Inextenza is what normally used when it's referring to traveling process. Now the cert. doesn't not expired but it's good to have it current because when it's legalized and they stamp it on the back with the signature they also put a date on it I believe is the issued date, so they date your went to take it out. So normally within 6month is fine. Again is DR we talking about....
    I wish you the best of luck your will do just fine, you seem to have everything under control just have an extra pair of eyes look over everything just in case you miss something. Other then that "SU VISA ASIDO APROVADA".... lol... Bring him home girl!!!

    I also was wondering about the DHL but to my knowlegal the only way you would be able to track it is once the pkt has been shipped and from what I've been advised from NVC they hold on to your file until the embassy has scheduled a date for the interview, so in the meanwhile you case is actually still in NVC... But here are some instruction on how you would track it.
    Go to www.dhl.com clicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think your's might have left NVC
    EXAMPLE:
    * Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A
    * Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011
    * Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011
    Account Number - Leave this blank
    Shipment Destination: Santo Domingo / You Choose your Country
