Pangga&Shine got a reaction from St&Sv in Wife's SSN still not being recognized by some entities after 6 months
WE are almost twins!!! My Wife here Nov 2012, SSN in 2 weeks, married in Dec 2012............. For what it is worth I did TURBO TAX and E-File both Federal and State with no issues on taxes. We went back to SS Office after marriage to chnage her name and it did not (check out in system). After AOS NOA#1 we went back to SS Office and now was able to change her name on SS Card. So the FEDS are happy at the SS Office so we get the smart idea to now get a STATE ID Card...... WRONG..... they say try later "their system not working with BIG BROTHER".... We will try again after we get the EAD & AP in the mail. If still failing at STATE- ID CARD we will try after AOS and Green Card......SSSShhhhhheeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

IF you miss your flight time DO NOT PANIC. Simply go the that Airline Ticket Counter and they will RE-BOOK you on the next flight out. This has happened to me on several occassions due to many reasons and I was NEVER asked to pay anything extra. Be sure to let you Hubby / Friends in Philly the NEW TIME so they too will not Panic.

Where is the USC Petioner in this process??? What is the USC telling you?? I find it really amazing the number of Benifactors that come here for help on their own. I applaude them for doing so, however the USC should be here on VJ DAILY!!!. The USC has to be the LEAD DRIVER imho. All the answers are HERE on VJ, emails, phone numbers, escalations processes, Congressman/woman, Case numbers, tracking numbers, Ect...
You should not and do not have to go through this ALONE. Yes some USC are more PROACTIVE than others.
Sunshine and I are on VJ DAILY for HOURS each and every day since March 2012.
This is nearly a Partime job!!! The Amount of effort put into this is equal to the amount of results you get out of this. If you think you just start the process and the GOVT will finish this on Auto-Pilot then you are sadly misinformed. It has to be (YOU & HIM/HER) vs (2 Governments) and VJ is your seceret weapon!

Now that we have established Herseys is a GREAT chocolate and not cheap in my book either do not look past the keyword MINI's. I like the Mixed Variety Bags, they are individually wrapped so no other fingers been on them while trying to break those large Bars into smaller sizes. Secondy what do kids do when you split something? They look to see which one is bigger! This way, no fingers and all same sizes . Also the MINI-Peanutbutter-&-Chocolates (Reeses) are VERY POPULAR with the Adults Too and ME!!! LOL . I froze 5 Bags of Mini's then wrapped in news-paper, 30 Hours later they were PERFECT condition to eat.
PS: Do NOT forget the UNO Card game, found at WALMART $4.00. Stay with Original UNO for now

Pangga&Shine reacted to sms78 in does racism go away after moving to the US?
I think you might want to put yourself into his position and re-think why your husband acts that way.
First, you must know that to him the US in which many different races live together is SUPER unique. Coming from a highly homogenous place myself, it was very difficult to comprehend that at first.
The first semester in US college, I took an Asian American Study class upon the school counselor's suggestion. He thought it would be easier for me because I'm Asian. Guess what? It was the hardest class ever. The professor often asked me what do you think about this and that "as an Asian." I couldn't answer because I never considered myself as Asian. I know it sounds funny, but in Japan most of people there are Japanese so there is absolutely no need to label oneself with one race to protect and respect its culture and/or heritage that way. When I was in Japan, I was always just "ME." I didn't need to form my opinion as Asian at least daily basis anyway.
So in US I felt restricted. Felt like I was forced into this small category of "Asians." It was a very strange experience to go through. Beyond my wildest expectation.
Also I was taught many times that I'm being a "race ignorant." When I first came to US, I had 3 doom roommates. 3 black girls. So all I hang out with were black people. I thought it was completely normal because I learned in school in Japan that in US many different races live together peacefully. I was soon "forced" to realize though that my definition of "normal" is not so normal after all.... One time I went to an outlet mall with 1 of the black roommates and her family. They joked "people's gonna think we kidnapped you because we are big black people and you're tiny Asian girl!" Another time, I asked girls if they want to go to kayaking with me. They said they can't go because kayaking is a "white people's sport." I learned this categorizing or border-building based on one's race has a significant meaning to many Americans whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.
I felt I was slowly pushed into this mysterious thing called "racism" and learned how to survive with in. It eventually happened. It took long time though. So be patient with your husband's adjustment. I still feel "offended" whenever ppl ask me an opinion as Asian. I still feel like I'm not Asian!!!! Laugh at me because I know it doesn't make sense!!

Asking the maiden name of the petitioner/fiance's mother is a well known and common question. Asking for the landline number is fairly new and very stupid considering so many today only use cell phones.

They asked us the same things a year ago. I made at least two different posts about it, one back when it happened, and another one recently. I just made up a number and told her to give it to them. And how can they know if it's a landline or not? Just tell them it's the ONLY number your fiance' has.
My fiancee' had to call me during the CFO interview in Afghanistan to ask my number, which of course I didn't have... not sure WHY they need that.

It's not about vengeance or about seeking validation for it, is about justice, that's all it is!. Why would you allow people to wreck your home, play with your emotions, scam you, treat you and hurt you?. I truly believe we have to respond to any violation or abuse and not let people rob your peace and wrap your heart. Vengeance does not call for punishment. We have a system to protect us,many people are saying "oh Immigration won't do anything against him blah blah blah", well they are wrong! I go to the Immigration Court almost every day of the week for the past 10 years and I saw thousands of people being deported!. In 2011 the United states deported 396,906 people, 54.6% of them were criminal offenders, but 46% of the deportees were people out of status, illegal, fake marriage, people caught at the border etc, they are not sleeping, they work hard!
I am an attorney and I own a non profit organization who helps victim of domestic violence as well and our message is SPEAK OUT!!! To say let go, move on, forgive him/ forget him is not constructive. We build a strong society with moral values when we demand Justice! She said she was psychological and physical abused by her husband then she must not let him get away with freedom. We need to teach our kids to demand justice and respect because without justice a society would fall apart.

Pangga&Shine got a reaction from TiklingGuy in How did you earn your first buck?
the first time i earned money was when i was in 3rd grade and i sell in school. I bought a pack of menthol candies for Php3.25 and sell it and gathered five pesos a pack. I made Php1.75 a pack. Then it get bigger i sell chocolates, biscuits. Back then it was still allowed to sell in school. In 5th grade i thought of cooking my own product so i made yema and maja blanca and sell it in school. Then in high school not anymore allowed to sell food in school so i buy stationaries and sell it on my classmates. Back then writing letters and philately was so popular. Always grabbing the chance whats "in" just to make money. Then time comes that not anymore allowed to sell anything in school so had to stop selling.
Its just so good to reminisce selling during class and my classmates were always so excited whats in my bag.

Based on how criptic your post is, I think there is more to this story.
I think you both have overall commuinication issues that you both need to work on.
    This may help
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampo
My future brother in law brother in law is married to my fiance sister. He had kids from previous marriages and she did not understand child support and alamony. And went down a poor communication path that you described above. In the end, once they both communicated anf took TAMPO out of the middle, it ended up being she felt excluded from the children because they made no effort to accept her as a mother.
Hands down, I will say that Filpina's nurture their children to be loving, it is hard to find that in the states.........
Work it out, communicate, or stay divorced permently.
And for the rest of you stop being so insenstive and saying SEND THEM BACK. All of us have chose for a reason to bring their love to the US, in some cases it doesnt work.... Can you send your American Ex back to their parents NO
