    Thank you! You filed a full month after I did so you're progressing well! My son and family are coming out to stay with us for the first 2 weeks of September so I'm happy this is all behind me for their visit - I just need to get a US passport now :D You're so close EV, I cannot tell you how it feels to be finished but, yes, my photo probably tells it best!! :jest:

    Went to my Oath Ceremony this morning - what a beautiful ceremony. At was at the Federal Courthouse so it was a judge presiding - he was very gracious in his comments and it was all so moving! We were in there a couple of hours from the appointment time, at the end of which we were awarded our certificates like a graduation! Fantastic experience - we were all given our first American flags and a letter each from the offices of our 2 senators and our congressman.

     

    Like everyone else who's got this far, I'm happy to be done with it; I'm happy to be a USC and feel like USCIS and I just got a divorce! B-)

    Your certificate should be prepared before the ceremony and ready for you. You will receive a welcome pack after the ceremony and there will be a passport application form in it. I believe there is a pack for everyone taking part in the ceremony.

    @Ramz same office as cdneh, my oath ceremony is 5 weeks to the day after my interview. And I fitted in a cheeky little international trip home too - don't sweat it Ramz, I told my interviewing officer that I had an international trip coming up - she didn't think it was any kind of problem. Worst case, you tell them you're not available and they send you another date.

The reading and writing portions were easy as well. I was asked for the most recent joint bank statements and 2016 tax return. Afterwards, the officer who interviewed me said I would get an oath ceremony notice in the mail. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting :)

    Good job, congrats! I'll be sorry to see this group closed when we're all done, @cdneh but we're nearly all done!! :dancing:

    How long from the day the letter is issued until the date of interview? I'm traveling overseas in 10 days. I'll be out for 2 weeks!

    It's different for every field office. Mine was in Memphis, my letter was dated 6/6, interview was 7/7 and oath is 8/11. I also traveled outside the US for 10 days between interview and oath. I hope it works out for youbut re-scheduling isn't a huge issue if necessary. Good luck!

    07/25/2017: Request for Ombudsman case assistance (Request# )

    07/29/2017: Service Requested on USCIS Website

    Good luck xtrasome; you've waited long and it's very frustrating. Every single step in this process has taken between 7 and 9 months for me. I got to a point where I had to tune out the waiting. I hope you hear something very soon. Credit to you for patience! :unsure:
