  1. Congrats to all the NOA2's - and my most heartfelt thanks for getting the heck outta my way! :P

    Welcome, Shezita! Good luck!

    Welcome Shezi We're Feb 29th too :).....

Thanks guys - nice to have a bit of company with people who understand! My daughter gathered my entire extended family for a big 'surprise' bon voyage party last weekend. If one more person asks me when we get married I might just burst!

How to plan the beginning of the rest of your life when you've been waiting in line for nearly 6 months....

A lot of Feb filers are getting NOA2s now though so let's hope that line keeps moving :D

  2. Thanks Nick! That really clarifies things. I just wondered how many copies of the police report I need? Seen as they aren't free & it's cheaper to get an additional copy the first time round then order another one later on if I need it once I move to the US for AOS or other procedures?

I ordered a copy at the same time as requesting the certificate since they are £5 per copy. I think it's still only £5 if you order a copy afterwards for up to 3 months - but I could be wrong :)

Either way, I think it's worth just paying for an extra copy.

  3. Thanks Nich-Nick, yeah I do look at the dashboard and I try to factor in the law of averages to keep a perspective on it. I guess I've managed to keep a lid on my impatience the last 4.5 months because I've been in school. 1 day into the summer break and I'm already agitated about the late projection. In an ideal world, it would have been great to make the move during summer before starting another school year - but I do appreciate that life doesn't work that way.

Thanks for taking the time out to reply :)

  4. Ok technically, this doesn't fall in to the 'NOA2 to interview' category but I watch this thread every day so I thought Id post my question here.

We're still awaiting our NOA2 and, in the last month, our VJ adjudication timeline projection has gone from July 11th to Aug 20th. We're assuming this is wholly as a result of the olympics since we've had no RFEs/other communication since our NOA1. Is anyone else in this position?

  5. Don't send all that. Not needed at all for London. Only the I-134 and proof of income.

This thread will show what's next in post #1 http://www.visajourn...terview-thread/ The rest of the thread will be your best source of info for the London part. The police certificate link has changed but is corrected on page 2. It will be changing again soon...August I believe. That's also brought up in the thread.

You are extremely informative Nich (?) - I read and re-read your advice.... the waiting makes me forget some of it so I go back to it again and again :D This thread and the one you refer to in it are the most useful ones for me so far.

    Thank you!

  6. Hi VJer's,

I just wanted to share our good news! We received notification through the USCIS website today that our petition was approved! We are both so excited!

I would like to thank everyone who has made this site and all the information provided as we submitted everything correctly and had no troubles!

Now I have to try and get my head around what we need to organize now. Any tips would be appreciated!

To everyone else out there waiting - hang in there! Your turn will come soon! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!! You and I posted our I-129s off the same day... I think the Olympics in London have really slowed things down this end though. Good luck to you for the next part of the process :)

  7. Hey everyone!

I've got a quick question about the police certificate. Basically we don't have anyone to sign the passport photo. We don't know anyone with a job from the list that could sign the photo, and the doctors/nurses he is currently with say they don't sign passport photos any more (just called today) because applicants would fill their forms out wrong and it would be rejected or sent back and it would make of a lot of paperwork for them so they decided to stop doing that. That's what the lady on the phone said any ways lol

Has anyone else been in this situation?

Also I kept trying to find threads talking about this in search but couldn't find anything, but I might missed something or hidden behind pages, if so sorry for being repetitive.

    Thank you so much!!

    Hi Louise

I'm a teacher in the UK and endorse photos / passport applications all the time so I asked a colleague to do mine - does he know anyone in a local school or college? Most GPs in the UK will do this though they tend to charge a fee. I should consider doing this myself :D

  8. Hi all

Like someone in another post, I've been lurking here for a few weeks, gathering as much information for us as I can :D We finally posted our application pack off yesterday and are settling down for the long wait.

The short story is that we have been together nearly 2 years, have 10 visits between us in the last 18 months (UK/USA). He came over to the UK 2 weeks ago to propose (I accepted!) and we decided to get the process started.

I can't tell you how reassuring some of the experiences here have been to read. We expect there to be obstacles, in planning to move from the UK to the USA I am prepared to jump through whatever hoops there are. We just want to be together.

    Thanks for reading :)
