L+T got a reaction from Ms C in Are Bar Girls Disqualified From Getting a Visa?
In the OP's case it seems possible to honestly answer no to all 3 questions. Considering question #2, have you been a prostitute? Unless your are charged with the crime and convicted, the answer is no, in the eyes of the state. Only a court of law can deem you a prostitute. Anything else is personal opinion.

She or the kids should not apply citizenship yet as they are not even resident. You cannot come on a visitor vist with intent to immigrate, especially stranding the kids in the meantime. They should file CR-1 and include the kids. Once approved, the kids have up to 1 year to follow if they are under 21 years old. They will enter as full residents and can then work toward citizenship. In the meantime, while waiting paperwork, they could visit if there is already visa for this... but is best to return and do interview in home country and enter on the CR-1 visa.

    Hey everyone,
Thank you for all your thoughts. I have been reading the posts and staying in tune with everyone. Congratulations to all of you moving onward and forward in this process.
I haven't been posting here much because I simply have no news to offer yet. I am trying to stay strong through all of this. It's hard, very hard. I feel like I am wishing time away at this point - and that is no way to live. So I am trying to focus on other things. I am pretty sure that I have found the wedding dress that I am going to buy... I just haven't pulled the trigger and bought it yet. Probably this week.
Our file has been with an officer for more than 30 days now and still nothing. (wonder if he went on vacation or something). I am really dreading the thought of another RFE. Our original RFE evidence was received by them on July 18th. On the RFE it said that they could take between 14 and 60 days to review. According to my calculations 60 days is up around Sept 18th, so I am really not expecting anything much before then.
I thought that going through the courts and gaining full custody and permission to move with the children from my ex would be the most difficult part of this process. Once I got that, I thought we would be free and clear and this immigration stuff would just be paperwork. I was not prepared for the stress, anxiety and depression that this process has been. It has actually turned out to be the most difficult. It feels that we have come sooooo far on this road, only to hit a major road block.
My family and friends all say "good things come to those who wait". While I understand that... nobody that hasn't gone through this really understands how difficult it is to live in limbo, just wanting to have a normal relationship, instead of living on the computer, because that is the only way you can spend time with your loved one. They just don't get it... they can't possibly understand how lucky they are to be able to go to sleep beside the one you love.
This process is a serious test to any relationship. I am pleased to say that I think in the end it has made our relationship stronger and will continue to.
Onward and forward... days come and days go, weeks come and weeks go, months come and months go... but eventually I will be with my love.
    Kim
PS: If there is going to be a meet-up in the States for all of us January filers... please, please, wait for me to get there..

What is your service request for? They are currently averaging 188 days out of vermont. Better to wait outside normal processing, 5 months + 30 days (ie 180 days) to put in the request.

Great time at the Social Security office today, only 5 minute wait to reach the desk... Very funny though, we go up and place the application, passport, and MC (with name change) on the desk and I say new applicatant with name change (this is all!!). She starts looking at the documents and the guard comes over to us and ask if she can speak english, and she say "yes, ok". Then he tell me to let her talk and answer the questions and I say ok, but "she hasn't asked any questions", and he say "well, it seems like your doing all the talking".
OK, so thay ask her "have you been here before" and Lidia is like "what"? (of coarse i know what she means, but keep quiet) and she ask real slow have.... you.... been.... here.... before....? And lidia say "what do you mean". Have.... you.... been.... in.... the.... USA.... before? Oh, No. "Is this your first time applying?" What? Have you had a card before? What? Is this your first time application for SS card? "Oh, yes, first time. (laughing to myself by now). "Do you have work authorization"? "Confused look. Do you have a work card? Looks at me. Couldn't take it anymore and tell her we have not yet applied AOS. (thinking back, i should have just let them two work it out...)
Anyway, 2-4 weeks to get card in case you are wondering.

I really hope that you do not take what I'm about to say the wrong way.
Your response to Beth's frustration is exactly why I have pretty much stopped posting in the January filers thread. I find myself reading this every day really hoping and praying that you and the others that are still waiting receive their NOA2s at lightning speed. I thought that this thread would be a place for everyone - even those who HAVE received their NOA2 and are waiting for their interview date - or even those who HAVE received their interview date - to talk and discuss any and all frustrations they might be feeling, as well as successes that they have in their lives. But it doesn't really seem to be that way, which is kind of hard because you know as well as anyone else that no one else truly understands how hard this process is unless they, too, are going through it. I do not post how frustrated I am with our embassy, how they DO take months to schedule an interview and how seemingly heartbreaking it is, because I don't want someone to chastise me for feeling those feelings. YES, it is wonderful to know that the first stage is behind us and YES, I hope that every single person in this thread gets their NOA2 really soon and can move to the next stage, but it's really hard to find some encouragement in a place where some people seem to put you down because their situation is not 'as bad' as someone else's.
To be honest, yes, both Beth and I are very fortunate to be able to live in the same country as our fiances. But our lives are also on hold waiting for the visa because we are overseas, which I do not ever complain about because it was the path that I chose willingly (and we live in a very dangerous country - which I never complain about on here because again, it was MY choice to live here). Try to remember that everyone's situation is different and we all have our own frustrations - just because we voice them doesn't mean that we are minimizing yours or anyone else's situation. I truly hope that your NOA2 comes soon.
I really hope that this thread can be a little bit more welcoming to other frustrations that are not related to the NOA2, so people can feel it's ok to post where they are in their process and feel ok to vent about something that is bothering them.
I hope I did not offend you in any way, that's only the way I've been feeling lately.

It's my understanding if you are above the guidelines then you just need the pays stubs, tax transcripts, W-2 and letter of employment. Occasionally they can ask for the bank statements if your self employed. Others can chim in and correct me if I am wrong.

I agree, are you sure the RFE is for proof of meeting or is it for the written circumstance of meeting? Tell your lawyer to send you a copy of the RFE. Perhaps they want to know HOW you met, not DID you meet. Both are required.

It's no wonder taxes are so high when we have able bodied people milking the system for un-employment benefit. I think it will look bad any way you do it if he must explain why he is a dentist and cannot find a job to support his family, and needs a co-sponsor.
