  1. I had absolutely no problem. I was in a pick up truck, all my stuff hauled in the back. It was all covered over with a HUGE tarp, pretty big. I had a generic list of say.. clothing-4 boxes kitchen items-2 boxes, etc.

It was one page no biggie.

Not only did they not take it, they didn't even ask me about my belongings or care!

You will be fine. Pack it all up and just make a general list should they want it. I crossed on a land border so I had a lot of stuff including my wedding dress which of course was less than 1 yr old.

You're fine, your hubby is being paranoid. :)

  2. Hey folks, although I was not affected by this IMBRA thing, as you can see by my timeline, I just want to let you know that I feel for you. This process is a huge task from the get go and I just want to give you all a vote of confidence to let you know that you can do it. You can hold out, you can wait, it can be done.

And to let you know that there are so many of us that read your posts every day, even if it doesn't affect us. I don't respond personally but I read-boy do I read.

If there's one thing I've learned-it's patience. I don't like it, but I've learned it. ha.

Anywho, I just wanted to give you all a big giant hug from me to let you know there are lots of people out here who read your posts about the IMBRA, RFE's, everything....and I for one think everyone deserves a congratulatory nod (or drink) for making it thus far!!!

Good Luck to everyone, everywhere in this crazy maze!!!

  3. Woooooooooooooooooo

My AP was approved today!!!! wooooooooooo hoooooooooooooo.

Also, my EAD was touched, let's hope it's a good sign. I am only a few days behind the others who were approved today.

Fingers crossed and Congrats to everyone on their string of approvals today!!!

Woooooooooo...time to plan a trip home to Canada!!!!:dance:

  4. Mass doesn't require a SSN for a marriage license.

As for the bank, I opened one without an SSN and I am pretty certain everyone can. There will be a form he will need to fill out which states he does not have a SSN. It can be done.

You can put him on some household bills without an SSN, to help establish his residence.

You can add him as secondary users to your cell phone, etc. Things that need to be done eventually, and it'll make him feel great if he's already included in some things.

    Hope that helps.

  5. Yep yep, it has to be a lease, or utility, or something to that effect. I have my name on nothing because we are moving, so it was pointless. However, the phone/satellite/ internet/ will be in my name once we move so I'll be all set.
