Thanks, please let me know how it is or if there's anything in particular they want and I can have that ready.
Good Luck
What's everyone else think about my list????

I would suggest going back armed with your knowledge and ask to speak to a supervisor if necessary.
I had a similar issue this week. I went to get my Canada license converted, (in Mass.) and they did not want to give me my Mass. license. They wanted a green card, and of course I don't have it. My K1 was expired, and to make matters worse, I don't have an I94 in my passport because I used my AP and on the way back in they only gave me a stamp.
I had every piece of ID they could want, and I was prepared for them. It took till closing time, but I walked out with my temp. and the card's in the mail!
Be persistent. Know your stuff and speak with a supervisor.

Let me preface by saying I know I put this in the working/traveling forum-I'm a little touched this morning. I'm copying here because I really want to get as much feedback as I can. I'm not sure how quickly my post would be moved. So I apologize for the screw up. Now..onto my post!
Hey folks, the interview is just a few days away and nerves are starting to creep up.
I have all the things on the Interview list they tell you to bring but I wanted to run by everyone what I have for supporting doc's.
We just moved July 1 into a new place, so there are no utility bills yet.
What I do have is this:
(in no particular order)
- wedding cards from friends/family
- our wedding invites
- marriage cert from the church (yes we have the real one too)
- cell phone bill with both our names on it (and our new address)
- lease agreement (both our names on it)
- letter of endorsement from the local YMCA (I've volunteered there while I couldn't work)
- letters from family after I've moved (asking how are you etc etc.)
- we have 2 joint accounts and we have our bank statements which have both our names on it
- wedding pictures
- pictures from the new house and around town
- I have life insurance with my hubby as my beneficiary (he has none)
- we have a joint credit card, but statements only come with 1 person's name on it so we are going to give a photocopy of the credit cards (same account number on them)
- paystub from my new job (only been there 2 weeks)
- car insurance showing me added
- letter from my new employer (I'm the foreign spouse)
And then of course every frieakin thing we've ever submitted, which is a sweet mother of a file.
We have all the essentials (passport/marriage cert/birth cert/NOA's etc.)
I'm bringing a copy of my 693A even though I submitted it with my AOS.
We're bringing a new I864, 3 months of pay stubs for my hubby, and a new employer letter, even though we already submitted all that too.
As for the photos, we don't have many after the wedding. We took some last weekend and I have some of our new house.
Is the above enough?? We don't have health insurance so I can't use that, and due to the fact we moved we have no utility bills with our names. In the old place, we didn't put me on the bills because we knew we were moving so what was the point. Will this be an issue? I am thinking no, but as everyone, you get paranoid.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
I have the next 4 days to copy everything I need and get all my photos together.
How's it look? I'm going through Boston too so if anyone has been there recently it'd be nice to know.
Thanks

I'm wondering if having copies of our credit card together will work. Statements do not include both our names.
We have bank statements with both our names on it, and I have life insurance with my husband as the beneficiary.
We do not have health insurance yet (can't afford it).
So, as far as finances go we have 2 bank accounts with our names on the statements, 2 credit cards (same account #), and life insurance with beneficiares. We just moved so have no utility bills yet with our names on it.
We have our lease with both our names, and car insurance with both our names. Our AOS interview comes only 5 months after I arrived so there has not been a lot of time for me to get established.
I have a letter of endorsement from our local YMCW where I have been volunteering. I also have a letter from my new employer since getting my EAD.
We have photos, letters from family and friends, wedding pictures etc.
We have a cell phone bill with both our names on it. This should be enough I hope.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I printed out the food and language part for all my co-workers at my new work.
They died laughing and found some things very strange. The 2-4 for example.
It's great-I love the site because it's so innocent and true.

Just because they offer it doesn't mean you can afford to take it. My husbands work offers health insurance but for a family plan, to cover him and me it'd cost him 1/4 of his monthly take home. Something we can absolutely not afford.
Hope this helps to enlighten.

I know someone out there must have a saved copy of their AOS Interview checklist.
I am about to start gathering all our stuff for AOS and I am hoping some lovely VJ'er out there has their list saved and would be nice enough to paste it here.
I know this question has probably been asked 10,000 times, but I just want to make sure nothing has changed in terms of what we have to bring with us to the interview-which ot my understanding is pretty much every single piece of anything you have ever used thus far. lol.
Thanks for anyone who digs up their list for me.

July 27th in Boston here. I'm nervous but this weekend I will be getting all the documents together so I should be a little better come Monday.
Yikes!!
Good luck to all with upcoming interviews.

Yep, that's it. Thanks a million!!!

Just a note, when I crossed on my AP, they didn't put a new I94 into my passport. I questioned it and was told, by a supervisor, I didn't need one. All I needed was a stamp-which I got.
I have my AOS interview next week so I'll update everyone on what happened with that!!!

A while back someone posted a link to a website that had a bunch of funny canadianisms/americanisms.
It said things about americans in Canada and what they noticed. I can't remember all the details but the website was a riot and of course now I can not find it.
Can someone please repost the link for me if they have it bookmarked?
Thank you kindly

Hey folks, I haven't been around much lately, we moved (yay) 2 weeks ago into a house that needed a sweet mother amount of work!!!
Then last week I started my new job-thank god.
So, now I am just starting to think about our AOS interview that is in (oh my god) less than 2 weeks in Boston.
I am wondering if anyone has had an interview in Boston recently?? I have a big list of things I have to bring I know and next weekend will be the sorting/labeling/copying/assembling and whatever else I need to do.
I was just hoping someone could shed some light on any recent Boston interviews.
Or, any tips or things I should be aware of.
I've been away from this site for only about 3 weeks now but I feel completely out of the loop! yikes!
I feel the panic starting to creep back.
My husband (USC) will be getting a new letter from his employer, we have recent paystubs, and we'll do an updated I864. I can't think of anything else that I don't already have.
Is NOT having any state ID a bad thing? I don't have my Mass. license yet, but I'm assuming lots of folks don't.
Anywho, any tips, advice, experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Watch for me this time next week when I am posting, ohhh about 20 posts. lol.
I've missed VJ!

Congrats and good luck to you!!! I am sure it'll be great!

I knew that one too. I just got back from a visit to Canada and I had lots of Timmy's and brought some home.

Call up Montreal and inquire. You've been waiting long enough to call I'd say. Maybe they can shed some light. The contact info should in your packet 3. Make sure you call during the hours specified (2:30-4 I think).
It can't hurt.

Congrats!!!!!

Congrats!!! Onto the next phase!

The best was when I tolf my mother-in-law what poutine was and how it was made and how absolutely delicious it was. She was so completely grossed out.
And trying to explain what cheese curds are-sweet mother that was a chore.
The drugs are for me-they can have the food. haha.
2 more days till I visit.
And I have seriously made a list on a piece of paper from this post!!
AOS Interview
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
-I'm not bringing any passport style photos, and I don't think you need it, or that would have definitely been on the letter.
-I don't think there's a reason for a checkbook, but mine is in my purse anyways, so it'll be there.
-If you submitted the vax suppliment I think you are fine. Just think, if it hadn't been fine, you would have been RFE'd for it.
- I don't know about the cards etc, I'm not planning on copying them unless I heard otherwise from this board. I doubt they'll even look at them but better safe than sorry.
- As for "All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status" I am not too sure what it is they want. But hell, I'm bringing everything possible so I'm sure I'll have whatever it is they need.
As for preparing documents, we'll be using an accordion type folder thing. I use file folders to separate things: for example one folder is "All USCIS mail" so it has all the NOA's, RFE, whatever they sent us. We have another that's "Supporting documents" which will be the biggest by far and include the photos, cards, joint accounts etc. We'll have another that says "All filed forms" which will have our I129F, I485, I131, I765 etc. And so on. We'll do a separate folder for taxes/pay stubs...and I just keep going along.
I always make one folder called "Must Haves" In it, I put all the things the interview letter states I Must bring with me, like marriage cert., birth cert., my AP, and whatever else was on the interview list that specifically states I must have it.
I'm not doing the binder thing because I don't want to hole punch 200,588 pieces of paper.lol.
Let's all be sure to post and keep in touch via PM this week so everyone knows what's going on.
I've used the same system for my fiance interview and anything else I've done for Immigration and it's been good.
Does anyone know if we need to take that stupid Xray with us? I hope not, it's pretty awkward.
So, you guys think I have enough??
I just copied all missing pieces of old forms so now I have a complete package. I'll be a photocopying madwoman in about 2 days.
Good luck and congrats to all
