  1. Just an update....On Tuesday, my husband attempted to enter Jordan, and after some arguing and standing his ground....they let him in! Yay!

The journey alone....traveling from Latakia to Damascus. Waiting for the next bus in Damascus....then traveling to Jordan....I was sooooo worried! But he made it. For anyone trying to enter Jordan....here is my husbands story....

When he got to the border, it was packed with Syrians. Mostly men. NONE were allowed into Jordan. They told my husband to go back to Syria. (i omitted the cursing) After some arguing, he finally mentioned that he has american wife, and going to us embassy. The guard asked why he should believe he has american wife. My husband had our Photo Book in hand! Showed him our pics! He let him pass.

Guard #2 said go back to Syria. More arguing and standing firm....my husband told him the story and gave him the interview paper. Finally! They said he can enter! The ONLY man allowed to enter.

Now, I had drilled it into his head....be prepared! Have everything IN YOUR HANDS!!! Proof right there!

And do your research! Even Syrians entering Jordan from another country, will be denied. So be prepared...do not turn and walk away....stand up for yourself!

    I wish everyone luck!

Our interview is in a few days.....so I pray he is approved without a/p....doubtful...but hopeful.

  2. Thanks all. I am not sure why his friend was denied. And his friend is Syrian. Was hoping to hear from him today, but I didnt. I told him to make sure he has his paper with interview date, round trip airline ticket, and possibly hotel reservation. So they can see that he is not staying.

I talked to mimolicious and she gave me that great advice! Also, I did email the embassy there, and only got the automated response. No reply. I don't think they will reply. What can they say...."yes, we know you cannot enter the country, too bad for you"

Louza, thanks for the info about the visa, that is great to know!

Sandranj....I did request to have the interview at Beirut. They denied the request. In order to change embassy he needed to reside there for 6 months. Since he still lives in syria, they said no.

  3. Why can't you take a screenshot of a page without the sex talk. Then just send them a snip of your conversation. They don't need the entire thing.

just take screen shots of conversations. If I had printed every page of every conversation It would have been thousands of pages. No one is going to want to read all of that.

lol.....i just replied the same thing....I did not see ur post here! duh

  4. So, I talked to my husband tonight. He is Syrian. He has to go to Jordan this month for his interview. His friend, has a tourist interview in Jordan on July 10.....well, he flew from Damascus to Amman, and was denied entry to Jordan! OMG!

I am so worried now that my husband won't be allowed in! Jordan is saying there is nothing like that happening to Syrians, but it is! My husband was going to take a bus to Jordan, but with all the roadside bombs, it is too dangerous. So he is planning on flying to Jordan.....what if he is denied at the border? What should we do? I am really nervous about this.

Any advice, or words of comfort will be appreciated!

  5. Congrats and thanks for updating, I really have been thinking about you and your hubby as I haven't seen you post for a while.

Thank you. I really haven't had anything to post. We were kind of "stuck" at nvc. I have been keeping more to myself lately....as the situation rapidly deteriorates in Syria, I barely sleep, and I am kind of in depression mode. The case complete is a big relief though.

  6. No one will know the answer to your first question.

The second one.. did he list it as an alternate name? There were spots where you got to fill out any alternate names on various forms.

No, we did not list it as an alternate. I only realized it was spelled wrong after we completed the form, and he scanned in his bio page of passport for me. That was when I saw it! After it was too late.

  7. My husband is from Syria. His interview is in Amman, Jordan. I am just curious from other mena members, what are the odds that he will not get put in administrative processing after his interview?

Also, a question.....we discovered his name on his passport is spelled wrong. Will that be a problem for interview? Anyone else have this issue...I know arabic to english....does not translate exact...and there are many variations. All of his other government papers...birth certificate, military, police, our marriage cert all spell it the way we did on all of his forms. But his passport has it spelled different!

    Should we worry....any advice?

  8. Still not scheduled for the interview. NVC still gives me a dead end when I inquire as to when it will be scheduled. I hate the NVC with a passion, they have made so many mistakes on our case since day one. I will be so glad when it is forwarded to the consulate. Seems to me since everything in Amman has to be electronically that it would make the process move faster. Seems people at the NVC can't read email as quickly as they can read snail mail. Perhaps our husbands will both have their interview at the same time. I am going to Amman for it, will make me feel better if I am there by his side. Luckily I am able to go, I know it isn't easy for most to be able to do so.

OOOHHHH, I thought you had it scheduled already....I don't know what is up with NVC....seems like every little blip makes them freak out and its like they don't understand the simplest of things! Maybe they will have it at the same time...that would be cool! Wish I could be there for the interview...but I cant :(

  9. My husband had to get 2 police clearance certs. One from Oman and one from Jordan. the one from Oman has a different spelling than all the other documents, birth, marriage, passport ect. But it does have his picture and resident number on it, matching his id from Oman. from what I understand in Arabic it depends on who translates the documents because the alphabet is different and based more on pronunciation and the way it sounds. My name in arabic is translated in a different spelling than it is in english. I have no idea how it will play out, but we are hoping for the best...we cant have the spelling in Oman changed because as a child it was the way it was translated when he became a resident there even though it doesnt match the spelling on his birth certificate...who knows wacko.gif

Yes, I do know arabic does not translate perfectly to english...and the spelling is up to whoever does the translating...I am just worried....all papers have one spelling except the passport. Your interview is coming up soon....good luck...and let me know what happens with it....

  10. Well.....when we were finishing up the DS-260, my husband had to scan in his passport bio page. I noticed his name is spelled different on his passport!!! O....M....G!!! The way he spelled it, and I spell it, and its on all our papers, all of his government issued forms - birth certificate, military cert., marriage cert., and police clearance - all spell it our way. His passport is the ONLY thing that is wrong! I texted him, and called but woke him up. I guess....tomorrow, I will tell him that he has to either have his passport corrected or get a new one. (am I correct in assuming this) I don't want to be thrown into a/p after his interview.

Seems like Syria is working against us....his safety....now misspelled documents....omg...just another hurdle.

  11. Case Completed.

    Waiting for interview date.

    Congrats!!!!

YESSS!!!!!!!!!! Just called NVC and my case was closed an hour ago. The only downside, I have to wait past the weekend for the interview date, but I'll take it! I am so anxious!!

    Awesome! Feels good I'm sure!

Horray, got the IV Invoice and paid the Bill this morning. :D

Getting all of our documents ready for our DS- 260 to send over, and awaiting our interview date!!!

    So exciting!

    Congrats!

aaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!! Yay! Medical passed! One more hurdle left - bring it on, Montreal! :D

    Very nice! Congrats to you!

Medical exam completed today, Result will be ready May 23rd, YAY!!!

So happy for you Rujby! Congrats!

  12. if it;s electronic how do i get the shipping info? If i call the NVC will they know perhaps? And for my ds 260 package I sent a photocopy of our marriage contract(that is what is required from the amman consulate as opposed to a marriage certificate), I got an RFE from the NVC to send the original copy, they would not complete my case until I sent it...

reply deleted.....sorry...oops...u already got ur answers...lol

  13. Hi all...congrats to all with good news!

I have been mia for about a week.

Well, after paid IV bill, the ds-260 appeared. So was waiting for husband to go online. (In Syria, they do not have home internet unless wealthy) so he was very sick....so I waited. Then we finally started on Tuesday....took 3 hours to get half way through! OMG! Remember, it was 4 am his time....and he is sitting at an internet cafe! so, he went home to sleep.....Wednesday....he was supposed to go online with me to finish....he never showed....didn't hear anything....i was pissed! Today....he went online, we finished it....emailed all the supporting documents....but get this....I was so mad...and i told him....and here is the reason (which makes me cry)He said "do you know what is going on here? I don't think you do! I could not leave my home! There are times, when I cannot go outside" O...M...G.... his life is at risk everyday....and it just sucks that they don't rush him through because of it. Can you imagine not being able to go outside for fear of being killed? I asked him why he didn't text me....but I already know he cannot speak of it. We have to be very careful of what is said....

So, sorry for the story....but just thought I would share. I only want him here. Safe.
