  1. Got the Bio's done today. Arrived at 10:50, filled out paperwork, fingerprints done by 11:15. Nice and easy! One quick question the wife is concerned about...these pics..are these the ones that go in the greencard or do they take more recent pics at interview. Naturally, she does not like the pic they took.... ;)

She's stuck with the picture I'm afraid! I look rough in mine also!!!

I called the FBI today about my fingerprints and a nice lady told me they cleared and they already sent them over to USCIS for processing.

    YAY!

That's great news! See - all that worry over nothing - it'll drive you loopy!

  2. I got my NOA for I-130, I-485, and I-765. But I cant track my case status online with my I-765 EAD. I guess it has not hit yet on the system online or maybe it never will but atleast I got my important ones in. Im not to worred about that.

But what does concern me is my check for my I-485 AOS ($1010) cleared on 10/7/2008 but not my I-130 ($355) has not to this date. Has anyone else encountered this? I got all my NOA at the same time too!

I thinking that maybe they didnt need my I-130 from the beginning cause she was already here as a Visitor? Im just really curious what is going to happen with that check if anything. Im tempted to spend it but Im not sure if I should.

Don't spend the money! I bet that check will cash soon and when it does you'll want to be sure the money is there!!! If your wife was already here, then she definitely needed the I-130 since that's the Petition for the Alien relative (spouse.) Good luck!

  3. Yes! Got my 3 NOA's today telling my the biometric schedule letter is coming. It said I had to bring the NOA's in to the biometric appointment cause of the bar code on them, just as you all said, so I am wondering if I can now go and try the walk in. Is there also a bar code on the appointment letter, or just the date and the NOA forms are the form you need.

On a side note, I received a letter from the f*%#ing IRS for the very same day I get my NOA's, which was today. HAHA Classic America. Wasting no time and getting their hands in my pockets. Dammit. ;)

Congratulations! Seems quick, huh?! Just a word of caution - when I was at my appointment last Thursday, at the second checkpoint, I gave the woman the I-495 NOA by accident ans she specifically told me no - that she wanted the ASC letter instead. I don't know if it was because she had already stamped the ASC letter, or what the deal was but that was my experience. There are three bar codes on the ASC letter, but I don't recall them being scanned or anything. Good luck if you try a walk in!

Oh yeah, tel the IRS you don't want whatever it is they're selling!

Rosie - don't give up yet! No-one said your fingerprints were bad yet!!! And just one question - what does "Soft LUD" mean in your timeline? Thanks, I'm just curious!

You're right.. but that's just me.. always paranoid!!

LUD means "Last Update Date" and "soft" because even if there's a date change, the status is still the same. In my case: "Current Status: Case received and pending."

Thanks for that, Rosie - guess mine was the same then, a 'soft lUD'...

  4. The NOA's show the receipt of forms I-485, I-130 and I-765 and they should also show your Alien number. You will get two then one in the name of the Petitioner - three in all. Mine were received about a week and a half after they got my package if that's anything to go by and Bios were scheduled soon after. I think that's pretty standard. Good luck in getting everything in time! I would go in the afternoon if you do a walk in - I'm sure it will be fine...

Hey Beantownbabe, I know this is not my conversation, but I had no idea that the alien number was located on the NOAs, I adjusted from

a visitor visa, so the A on the I-485 NOA is my new alien # because I didnt have one when I filed.

No, neither did I but the person at ASC said that's what it is and the same one is on the ASC appointment letter. Interesting stuff...

  5. Hi guys, sorry the spreadsheet hasn't been updated in a timely manner but it was crazy busy at work for me and Kimcorene is busy with the move.

I just updated it as much as I could see the information being posted on this thread, let me know if I missed anything!!

I just came back from my biometrics appointment and I'm just a little worried because some of my fingerprints were reading "match warning" on the screen.. I'm just afraid they get refused by the FBI because they're bad prints or something :(

Welcome to all other October filers!!

    Hi Rosie!

Funny - the same thing happened to me with my fingerprints! I wanted to tell the girl who was doing them to be sure she did it properly but I thought it may be better to keep my mouth shut and let her do her job! There was a percentage next to it too, so maybe it just has to be over it or something - we'll see! She did mine a number of times though also.

  7. Thanks/ So if I do have my letter and ID, do you think they would go for a walk in. I can wait till I get my letter for sure, just wondering if you think it is worth a shot?

I see you are filing in Boston? The actual office is right near the Fleet Center at the North station T stop. Are you any where close? If you are, I would say to try a walk-in and see what happens. My appointment was at 8 am on a Thursday and there were a good number of people there infront of me. It's like a production line though and they shuffle people through very proficiently. I asked in the general forum a few weeks ago if anyone had done Bios in Boston and a couple of people responded and had luck with walk-ins, so they are definitely possible. You MUST have the letter though because like someone else said, it has your bar coded info on it which they scan. They also tell you that you must not bring cell phones, etc. but really it should say that you have to turn them off before you go in 'cos everyone had them! Good luck!

  8. For those who are doing or have done the biometric 'walk-in' attempt, I am wondering if that is only after they recieve their NOA or their Biometrics scheduled appointment. I am wondering if there is any point in trying a walk-in prior to recieving the letter. Prob not huh? Just racing the clock for the army SF deadline which I am trying to meet, so any extra time is a massive plus for me.

And what is up with still no NOA ;(. That damn thing better show up soon, I'm loosing my mind trying to confirm that my package even made it to the right address seeing as I am the only person I have seen that had a different lady sign for my package...Chiba. Man this waiting game gets ya, huh? ;) (And this is just the start)

I just had mine yesterday in Boston and they check I.D's and appointment letters three times before you get to go in so there is no point going without an actual appointment/letter. Yours will come soon and it's *usually* within a two week timeframe - the appointment that is...

  9. Completed Biometrics. Went really Fast and smooth 30mins tops. My wife had her passport with her other last name on it. Lucky we were prepared with Marriage Papers. So dont forget that if you dont have an updated ID with your current marital last name.

Sounds like my experience - I had my passport as I.D with my maiden name, but thanks to VJ came armed with my marriage certificate - they didn't care about it! I had to ask the woman if she needed to see it and she told me no! Like you though, I would recommend that you take it anyway!

  10. Hey Beantownbabe,

Nice to know that you got your biometrics done, now everything can get moving right..ink..lol technology my friend and there should be touches soon.

So I went to Biometrics this morning - all went well except for the fact that it was raining and it messed up my "look good for the picture" hair!!! I looked like a drowned rat once I got inside, but it was a smooth process and quite interesting. I don't know why I didn't even realize that they scan your fingers...I guess I'm old and expected to come out with ink everywhere! It was interesting to see all the different races in the office and now I'll wait to see if my file gets touched online. Who is up next?

Yes, I notice it got touched yesterday afternoon, I guess when they input the information from Biometrics. Both I-485 and I-765 - We filed I-130 also, but that status remained the same. It will be interesting to see who gets their EAD's first, huh?!

Did you have to put your hair up when taking a picture like on passport photos??? Just a thought...

No, she just said "look at the camera!" and as soon as I found it she clicked. I heard one of the other people ask someone else, "do you want to smile for your picture?" I just got the click!

  12. Hello guys , I'm alos Oct filed :D i just check my status online its said

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

On November 5, 2008, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address.

What that mean ?? Its mean i request for REF ??

Hi - It means that you will soon receive a letter from USCIS asking you to provide information. Sometimes, it could be that you forgot to sign something for instance - or it could be that they need tax information or something like that. Infact it could be anything and sometimes it is something that you provided already and they lost it! All you need to do is wait until the letter comes, then find out what they need and send it back to them - your case will resume once they receive what it is they are looking for. Good luck!

  13. My case was transferred to CSC two days ago!

On November 4, 2008, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made.

Great! Maybe no interview for you guys then! Hooray!

  15. Speak to a lawyer, but the best advice I can give is this; when you are done speaking to him/her, come back here and ask again for advice!!! I'm serious too - there are some VERY knowledgable (sp?) people here and there have been many a poor soul had bad advice from immigration lawyers. I don't think the overstay is the big issue and thankfully, the SSN was not one that belonged to someone else. Has he been using it over the past three years? Anyway, speak to the Lawyer and be sure to update us! Good luck!

  16. Ok so we got our RFE letter today.....I sent in my information for the sponser but also sent in my mothers because I knew my income is wayyyy below poverty level. The RFE says that they need the most recent taxes for the joint sponsor.....Would that me my mother? It also states that the joint sponser needs to be a citizen.....SHE IS! Am I supposed to send in her citizen letter or is that just a standard thing they put down?

Yes, the joint sponsor is your mother - if you are the Petitioner. I think the Citizen part is standard wording - I've seen that on a few threads here. You would have to send her passport, birth certificate or something of that nature. Good luck!

Ahh ok well she was born in Cuba and became a citizen later on down the line. She has her citizenship certificate so I may just send a copy of that in. Only thing is the Citizen Cert. has her maiden name....She is now married and with a different name. :(

I am not the petitioner.....My husband is. Well unless my understanding is wrong I think the petitioner would be the person not from the US right?

Okay, so you can send in her Citizenship certificate/copy - and if you can get your hands on her marriage certificate then I'd add a copy of that with it. And yes, your husband is the Petitioner then and you are the Beneficiary. Good luck!
