  1. Hey VJ Members and my fellow October filers,

After a long day shopping with my hubby, came back to check my mailbox, and there was my EAD and interview letter. My interview date is set for February 24th @ 8am. GOD IS GREAT Y'LL.. I called my parents in my home country immediately and they were so overjoyed to hear such great news.:dance:

And all the others who got their card production ordered, my EAD came in the mail 10 days after. So interview notices are in order for you guys who got EAD approvals. I had a very good time on this website and i will stay until I'm ready to file for citizenship. For those who are awaiting biometrics and EAD, AP approvals, stay on it, make necessary calls, call them everyday if you have to and thanks to everyone and i will be online checking frequently on everyone's progress and all the excitement.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Hey SweetnSexc congrads to you on receiving your EAD and interview letter in the mail, now that is what you call a good early Christmas. I am glad to hear your parents are overjoyed and they should be, congrats once again. Wow that is nice to get mail like that. Really nice words of encouragement SweetnSexc to all of the filers here. Have a good Christmas.

Hey guys I also have some very very good news to share with everyone in here. Like SweetnSexc, I checked my mailbox, and I also received an interview letter in the mail. I was so shocked, and I originally thought it was an RFE letter, so I had to read the letter again to make sure my eyes was not playing tricks with me. It was an interview letter, my wife, and I were so excited to receive such good news before Christmas, WOW. I am so friggin stoked, you guys have no idea. I am on clould nine guys. My interview is scheduled for Feb, 3 2009 @2pm. The weird thing is I havent heard any word about my EAD and I am a late filer, so I didnt expect to hear any news until the new yr, but hey I will take it.

I personally want to thank everyone on this thread for their advice and help in this process, thank you guys. I also want to tell everyone, that anything can happen in the immigration process, you just never know and good news is coming to everyone in here. Congrads to everyone in here on their AP, EAD approvals and interview letters. For those who are still waiting, good news is coming sooner than you know it and keep your head up. I honestly never thought I would be this lucky honestly. I will still be around here, I love VJ, I will be here till I get citizenship, and I sure do want to be around here to see everyones process. I definately have met some very cool people in here, and I am very glad to have met everyone in here and go through the same process with everyone, it sure isnt easy, I will tell you that. Good luck everyone and I cant wait to hear others in here share good news.

Merry Christmas to everyone in here and hope you have an enjoyable one in advance. Take care.

Woohoooo! I can just hear the excitement! I'm very happy for you, congratulations! February will be here before you now it and then you get to breathe abit! Yup, a very Happy Christmas in your home!

  2. Happy holidays everyone!

My girlfriend (now my wife) came here with a tourist visa for a family reunion and during her stay i popped the question and we decided to get married here in the U.S. Her tourist visa runs until march 2009. Reading through visajourney and the USCIS website, it seemed the appropriate route for us to take was to file the I-130, wait 'til we get a visa number then file for an adjustment of status then the EAD, in that order. We sent out the I-130 December 12 and we got the first NOA yesterday, December 19. Here are a couple of points we need clarification on and any help will be greatly appreciated:

    1) can we/should we file for an AOS now or do we wait until she gets her spousal visa approved and THEN file the AOS?

    2) does she have to leave in March 2009 if the I-130 (or the AOS if that's something we need to file now) doesn't get finished by then or can she stay and wait for everything here with me?

    3) can she get a social security number right now or does she have to wait until everything is completed?

i researched this greatly, directly from the USCIS website and here at visajourney as well as people we've met along the way and sometimes it's hard to get a definitive answer that sometimes you find more questions than answers. I just don't want for things to get messed up simply because the process wasn't followed correctly. On a happier note, this is the first christmas we're spending together as husband and wife and i feel hopeful and blessed that we have the opportunity. i know there are many out there that aren't as lucky and our prayers and hope goes out to everyone in this "immigration" process.

    happy holidays everyone!

    Hi,

File AOS now - I wouldn't wait it just makes everything even longer than it already is. She will not have to leave once AOS is pending - another reason you should file. I'm not completely sure that she can get a ssn right now, or it may be that she can get one that is stamped "not valid for employment purposes." Once she has an EAD she will be able to get one with no problem. (Yet another reason to file now!) If they DO allow her one, she'll probably need a valid I-94/visa in her current passport along with any other primary evidence requested. Someone else will chime in here because I can't give you a definitive response - good luck though!

I'm so glad to hear that! Your EAD AND interview letter on the same day, is truly wonderful news indeed and it's really not that far away either. Thanks for all your positive vibes for us fellow October filers. I'm really happy for you! It's already a Happy Christmas, huh?!

  4. Anyway, so I got another CRIS email at 9pm this evening saying that they had ordered my card...again?! I guess they really mean it this time, huh?! I read a couple of other posts on different threads saying that they do that when they are about to send your card - I wonder if there is any truth to it, we shall see. So, yes, another touch on I-765 today.

It happened to me too!! I got another "Card Production Ordered" email on the 18th.. we shall see how long it takes to actually receive the card!

Me three! Got two emails saying "Card Production Ordered." One said "On Dec. 11.....card production ordered", etc. and the other said "On Dec. 17.......etc (same exact words.) So I guess they ordered it twice. I'll believe it when the card arrives.

Okay, so whoever gets theirs first buys the drinks, right?!!!

  5. Still no news for us today ... we did get 3 inches of snow over night with 6-12 inches over the next 24 hours forecast.

i wouldn't be able to go to work even if I had a job.

    (Brrr)R

That's funny - at least I got a chuckle for the evening! We had a ton of snow too today and it's still coming down! I usually can't wait to get rid of it but it was cute to play in it with my daughter this evening. Couldn't get the girl to come back inside even though I was freezing my bajeeba's off...she wanted to bring a snowball in the house to keep - awwwwwwww, love her!!! :P

  6. Hey all.

Just checking in to see how all are doing.

I still have absolutely no idea of where I am at, and STILL haven't got my Biometrics. Should I be worried. By the looks of our spreadsheet, I should be. I mean the least they could do is update me on that additional tax stuff I mailed in.

Hey TonyDanza, I was thinking about you and your case a couple of days ago! Sorry to hear they are coming up short in the Biometrics department...How are you doing with the time constraints that you mentioned before? Yeah, you're right - usually there is an update to say "case resumed" after an rfe is received...I wish I could tell you what was going on...Time will tell, I guess but the wait is torture!

  7. you will have the same number on your ssn, i think that's all.

I had one because of a J1 visa 10 yrs ago and it followed me, I also filled up all my paperwork with it when they were asking for a national number or so.

Same situation here, your number will stay the same but eventually will have your married name on (if you want it to...) There should be no problem switching it over and once you've adjusted it will just be a regular, valid card without anything else on it.

  8. We are going to call USCIS tomorrow and get a request for servicing or some ####### for the EAD. I have called USCIS like 3 times in the last 7 days. KIMCORENE you can call USCIS on the 61st day after you got the NOA1 Or after they recieved it. Well they told me to call and I know our dates are close so you should call. For the AOS you have to wait 90 days from when they recieved your response to the RFE or from the RFE date that you got the letter. One of the 2.....you should call and ask anyway.

So if you call, what do they do - expedite it or something? Day 61 would be next Tuesday for me...Sure would like to get my driving license soon with the EAD as primary evidence.

Well since we have not gotten a biometrics appt they will do a service request to get a biometrics appt. I THINK! I am not exactly sure how it all works as we have yet to do it. I am off tomorrow so we are going to call then since my husband has to be present. I tried to do it at work on break but they wouldnt let me since he was not present. Will let you know details tomorrow. :)

BETW yes the wait is a def a killer. Its like the K1 visa process all over again....worrying and all.

Oh, I see! So I guess I'll just wait it out, then - the card will come sooner or later! I think I'll just about have a fit when I actually see it though! As for the interview, I guess I can admit that I have recently been daydreaming about going home to visit and returning via the "Permanent residents" line at the airport next year! I'm so glad that the Holidays are here so that some of the sting is being taken out of waiting. At least we can focus on something else for the most part. And it snowed here a couple of days ago! My daughter was mesmerized even by the little sprinkle that we got! She held her face up to the sky and tried to taste the snowflakes - Oh to be a kid!!!

Anyway, now that I am completely off topic - who's next for an update?! And where is TonyDanza? Any biometrics appointment yet?

More, more! - More news, people...I love good news!
