We are going to call USCIS tomorrow and get a request for servicing or some ####### for the EAD. I have called USCIS like 3 times in the last 7 days. KIMCORENE you can call USCIS on the 61st day after you got the NOA1 Or after they recieved it. Well they told me to call and I know our dates are close so you should call. For the AOS you have to wait 90 days from when they recieved your response to the RFE or from the RFE date that you got the letter. One of the 2.....you should call and ask anyway.
So if you call, what do they do - expedite it or something? Day 61 would be next Tuesday for me...Sure would like to get my driving license soon with the EAD as primary evidence.

What does this mean? Just a random touch? I already got the notice that it was being transferred to the CSC.Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.
The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.
If you already received the notice, then I bet that is just random - a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing!

Actually just read this on USCIS website:
On December 8, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you.
Expedite worked.
Congratulations! October filers are movin' on up!

I'd just like to comment on the birth certificate part of all your questions! You most definitely SHOULD add your son's b/c as bone fide evidence whether it's on a 'technicality' or not. He is a priceless product of the two of you (whether or not your were married at the time...) A seven year old living with both of his parents is way more effective evidence than a name added to a lease, for example - that is of course, just my opinion!!! I think they want to see that your name is on the birth certificate, therefore legally and financially binding you to a minor - most people don't take that lightly. If you can add your wife to the lease, by all means do it - and the joint bank account is great too. One more thing - is it possible that you have Life insurance with either party as the beneficiary or Medical Insurance together? Those are good evidences also...
Good luck!!!

do not worry about no changes after biometrics in our case it just showed as the last update being the day of the biometrics but no change to the status of the application.
GOOD LUCK!
Exactly the same here!

That's the one bad thing about Chicago - too darned cold in the Wintertime! It was pretty cold here in Boston today, traipsing around looking at a gazillion trees! Where in Italy are you from? I traveled there once in my young, free and single days...Milan, Venice, Florence, Pisa and I'm sure there is somewhere I'm forgetting...
My husband and I will be moving to San Diego, CA as soon as I get my Green Card
I can't wait!!
I'm from Torino, which is still pretty north and close to the mountains, but it was NEVER this cold in the wintertime!
Oh yes, I think they had the Winter Olympics there last year or so! San Diego is beautiful, I was on a quick visit there - are you guys going to move there for work or just "because?"

Hi October filer!
I received I485 interview letter today mail without prior email notification. The interview is set for January 27 2009. I have F1 visa and mailed my AOS package on Oct 13th 2008 and was delivered on the 14th. And I got my biometrics done on Nov 20th...Now just waiting for the interview
This is good - very, very good! Let's keep it movin' people!

Hi October filer!
I got two emails from CRIS yesterday, and my EAD and AP were approved!!
It's kind of strange, because I haven't received my biometrics letter yet, so I wonder why they approved my EAD.
If they don't mention it on the next notice, I'll call them to ask about it...
Wooo-Hoooooooooo! Bring 'em on!!! NEXT?!!!!!

Feel better soon, Rosie! My daughter woke up with a runny nose and sneezing this morning so I guess she's got her third cold in three months! Sheesh, these little germ-mongers! But on a better note - we went out and got a gorgeous Christmas tree today and I just can't wait to decorate it tomorrow. Christmas trees yet, anyone? I just LOVE this season!
Thank you!! Well.. in Chicago we had around 15 degrees these past few days.. hard not getting sick for me (I'm Italian... not used to these temperatures!!)
My husband and I are planning to put up our Christmas tree tomorrow!

Hi, I'm just popping in from October filers to see how your interview was!!! Did baby girl behave herself?!!!

Just want to make sure this is normal -- we filed for the AOS in mid-October. NOA's were sent right away. Had the biometrics in mid-November. We are pretty sure we should be getting an RFE for the medical because we didn't send it with the package but wanted to get the AP paperwork in right away, just hoping that we could travel for Christmas - not going to happen. But we haven't had ANY movement ("touches") since the biometrics. Is this normal?
Hi, I got a touch on the day of Biometrics and nothing ever since, so yes - I believe it's normal! Some people don't get anything more until "Card Production ordered" or "Approval Notice sent" I hope you get your AP soon, though! Good luck!

After biometric was complete, there was a touch on AOS and EAD like two days later.
I'm just looking at your timeline, Shieun...so much for my observation about Biometrics and Interview dates! I see you had your bios done AND you have an interview date set! That's great! January is busy for October filers!

Hey Canadianmade! I did, I called the FBI and they told me the prints were accepted and already sent over to USCIS.. now I just have to wait for the EAD and the interview letter to come, like most of us October filers
That is fantastic news Rosie, I am very glad to hear you got answers, I love to hear stuff like this. I am in the same boat as you are, I am waiting for the EAD and the interview letter as well. I am just amazed that, our group is already receiving interview notices, I believe its a total of 5 interview notices so far. I hope this happens for other people in our group.
I'm with you, Canadianmade - I am amazed too by the speed of some of the interview letters in this group! Wow, it almost makes me a little nervous to think about it!!! I'm not expecting one anytime soon, though - don't know why but I just have a feeling I may have a long wait! On the other hand, I DO want my EAD though! That would be wonderful!
Thank you Beantownbabe, I just think its so crazy, their are other filers who posted before us, like for example the july filers, who either didnt receive their interview notice or just did but it is in december or january, so that says alot. I am hella nervous about this too. Why do you think you wont be expecting one anytime soon? Why do you think your journey will be a long one? When do you think you will get your EAD? What line of work are you going to get into when you get your EAD? I just dont want to get RFE and it would be cool if us filers got our green cards came fast. I know some will get theirs faster than others.
Hey again - I agree, I've looked at some of the other posts and am in awe that some people wait so long and others are just lucky and quick! I believe the Boston office to be busy - seems like a popular place to be, so I think the workload would be greater. That's my way of thinking anyway, but they are more than welcome to surprise me with a letter! Hopefully I'll get my EAD by mid-January - that would be the late end of the three month estimation time. It's not that I want to go out to work though, I used to work with kids, but I will still stay home and work with my own toddler for a while! I am more anxious about getting my driver's license and with the EAD, I'll be able to use it as a primary I.D. I notice that the October filers who got interview dates did not get their Biometrics done yet and the ones who DID, they are waiting on letter...I wonder if there's anything to that or that's just a coincidence?!! Funny, huh? And yes, keep those RFE's away from me!

I just received a letter to say my interview was cancelled and sorry for any mistake...............and that I should receive another letter to confirm with a new date or something...
I posted about this your other thread - for those who get canceled - there have been a few people who had their interviews canceled so they didn't go and they had their application canceled.
the general wisdom on VJ is to go the canceled interview anyway.
If and when we get an interview and if and when it's canceled that's what I'm going to do.
R
You know something, you're right - it's good advice to go along to a canceled interview anyway and the very least they can do is turn you away. Better that than get a notice in the mail saying that you failed to appear...Alxmrt - why don't you plan on going anyway?
-
Happy Thansgiving All! You can add another interview to the mix!!
We got our letter yesterday and we are set for Jan 14th! No EAD or AP yet but it looks as if they were a waste of filing time. What a perfect day for our interview as my wife's and daughter's B'Days are the 15th and 18th! What a nice gift!
I have copies of all that we filed in Oct. Is there anything else other then the typical joint account items that we need to bring? From what I can tell from the NOA, it looks as if we have already acquired all necessary docs. This was not expected so fast. Good Luck Everybody! It looks as if things are moving swiftly for people.
Wow!!! Even more congratulations are in order! Looks like a Happy New Year is in order!
-
Oh shoot! Two interviews?!!! Are you serious?!!!!!! Congratulations guys, that's fabulous news! I'm not expecting one for a while for some reason...
-
You have enough photos...you'll be fine!

i find myself checking online everyday just now, just hoping that for some crazy reason they have updated it. It's just the helplessness that i find hard there is nothing we can do to speed this up and its frustrating.
Hopefully we all get through this nice and easy and for the people that have had RFE's i feel for you i really do, i'm dreading ever getting one i can only imagine how you feel. It will all work out in the end and we just have to be patient which is easier said than done in this economic climate i can't believe i'm actually eager to work!!!
I hear you! I've become obsessed with checking and I hate it - this online thing is both a blessing and a curse at the same time, since it can make even the sanest person crazy! I wish I had the willpower to just look at it once a week, but I just can't do it...You are right about the feeling of helplessness - it's rough! I just have to keep myself busy and at least there are Holidays coming up which should make time fly a little more! Pretty soon we'll be into a whole new year and the interview letters should be rolling in...

Thanks BeanTownBabe!
Needed that.
It is just so painful to be counting days and then to have arrive 12 days late, not the form I was expecting, but a form that will probably delay an additional two or so weeks. So almost a month back. It's like ####### are these ####### smoking? They cant make a 3 min call to the person who spends a hundred hours gathering all sorts of very hard to come by material, and who pays thousands of dollars, and wait endlessly and patiently! No bloody wonder there are so many illegals. They damn well desirve it cause whoever put together this #### show might at well be the designer of the indian electrical grid.
I will post what the form says tomorrow afternoon and hopefully can get some additional helpif anyone is in the know. Thanks for the pick me up though
I agree that sometimes you have to jump through hoops in this process. And you're right, it would be so much easier and better if they could just pick up a phone, but I doubt that in this lifetime it's gonna happen - it's just too straightforward! This is one heck of a ride and it's the suspense of it all that's so frustrating, especially when you can almost see the finish line! Hopefully you'll post and we - or someone will be able to shed some light.

Hi all.
Well I had a depressing day. Pulled up to my mailbox and freaked in excitment as I saw what I thought was my biometrics letter from USCIS.
Nope.
Instead a nice yellow RFE regarding my i-485. Apparently, my joint sponsor who is a real estate agent and friend who makes well in excess of 125,000 per year, is not adequately above the poverty line. At least this is what I am to assume, as the yellow letter is some generic piece of mail back garbage with three boxes which USCIS has checked all three. And the description next to each box is about a vague as it gets without any case specificity.
I feel like swearing and slamming my hand through a window. I am SO frustrated. I spent WEEKS checking and rechecking that material not to mention I am on such a time crunch although I know we all are
What I dont understand is what I am missing. Of course it is Sat today and the office is only open Mon to Fri so when I call I get nothing.
I included for my wifes affidavit of support, and for my joint sponsor, a photocopy of each of their most recent tax refund statements (whatever its called.) My wife is a bartender so her on paper income didnt exceed 125% of the poverty line this my friend's joint sponsor who far exceeds the limits. The year before he made near a quarter million.
Anyway, not sure what I may have been missing. Any clues? I guess I'll try posting this in the main forum too but alas the wait for biometrics continues.
Blah, I'm going for a beer. ;(
Oh #######! I was excited for you and then I read the post! I read a number of other posts here before where they wanted proof that the joint sponsor was a USC - maybe it's something like that...Can you post exactly what it says and maybe we'll have a better shot at helping you?
I don't blame you - you need to go sink a few cold ones, you deserve it! Keep your head up though...or at least try to!
AOS FILERS: OCTOBER 2008
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

It's the wait that's the killer! I keep looking out for the mail now for something...anything from these people! I need something official with my new signature on it to be able to get my license since I don't have anything yet.
Kimcorene, I've been thinking of your biometrics situation and remember reading from a couple of previous filers that they didn't get their bio appointments either yet they got interview dates - their biometrics were simply done the very same day as their interview! Let's hope something like that is in the works for you! Fingers crossed!
Waaaaaaaaaaa - I've only been touched once! Touch me, too!
