If she has a SSN then she must mention it on the AOS forms. (They are not asking if she paid taxes - at least she did though!) The bigger issue surely is the name on the SSN matching their database because even when she adjusts, she keeps the same number since it's hers for life. Just make sure it really IS hers.

Well, I wouldn't bother since it's her mother. I would personally just write the address and call it a day.

Personally I would just write your mailing address without addition. If you feel more comfortable maybe you could write "Smith." Make sure your names are on the mailbox though.

Yes, that's it.

You always use her married name if that is what she now goes by. You're family now!!!

Hmmm are we looking at the same thing? I see it says "EAD applicants who have filed for AOS..". It's # 7A

Hi again! If your wife is a U.S citizen, then she has to send proof, such as her birth certificate. She does not have a A# so you just leave it blank. For part 2, you are filing (a) where an immigrant visa will be made immediately available to you via your marriage to USC, (your wife's petition that you file with the I-485). Leave the consulate part blank or write "None" since you are a VWP, but make sure you say you came as a visitor in section before that. It wasn't clear to me if you realize to mail your wife's paperwork AND yours all together as one file, but you do... Hope this helps!

Did you download the instructions for the form? There is a section that tell you who is eligible and then it tells you which letters/numbers to write based on what category you are in. Did you get married to a USC and are adjusting your status? If so, then look at part 7 and it says to file this paper with the I-485 and write © (9) in that section. Hope that helps!

No, I believe that if you enter the country illegally to begin with, you will not be able to adjust even with marriage to a U.S citizen.

Thank you, once again! Yes, it's what I thought but I just needed to make sure! I made a mistake and didn't mean "eight copies" just eight pages...Thanks for pointing that out also!

Would someone please clarify this for me - Do BOTH the U.S citizen and the spouse fill out all four copies of biographic information? We will be using an I-130 and I'm looking at the "What documents to include" section. Eight copies in all, right? Thanks!

Thanks so much! I keep seeing it and have wondered! Good luck!

I know it must be an easy question, but I can't figure out what it stands for! Needless to say, I am yet to file...

I know a family that that happened to. Not the FBI, but Immigration turned up on their doorstep at about 7am one morning. They wanted to look around, in closets and stuff to see if the other person really lived there.
If your situation is less than conventional, the most important hing is that you are honest about it. Good luck!
fellow VJ'ers...stupid question here

I "think" that the answer is yes...that is - everything is contingent upon that petition. I have a feeling this is posted in the wrong forum? Maybe someone else can verify...Good luck though!
