  1. 1) We sent copy of US citizenship cert for N400. Now that my interview is in few days, can't find his original US citizenship cert.

    Will his US passport work?

    2) We also sent Tax transcript from IRS in my N400 package, since its not a copy, and IRS online download is no longer available, do we need to bring "originals"?

We got copies from our tax service providers, should this suffice? Since what we sent was original from IRS but wrote as cooy on the cover letter.

    Thank you!!!

  2. Approved: 10/8/2014

Got the actual green card in the mail: 10/24/2014

Also note the USCIS case status check is still not updated. So guys, don't pay attention to this.

  4. So I got a case update today via email saying that our address had been updated on our case file. Strangely enough we hadn't updated it (even though we needed to) but we had not updated anything. I called to follow up on it, and we were told that it was a glitch. Ummm ok....

    This happen to anyone before?

Hey guys, i started this thread and it's been many months since i've come here well, because no updates at all.

Just yesterday i called and they voice message on USCIS says my address has been updated yesterday?

I did file AR-11 change of address online back in Feb 2014. What is going on?????

I learned of this because my Re-entry permit i-131 was getting delayed so i applied to expedite request which got rejected yesterday, also it said my address didn't match the one on file...but i've been getting all my mails to our current new address.

    So frustrating!!!!!!

    1) I-131filled & signed

    2) I-131 $360 Fee + Biometrics Fee $85 = Total check paypal $445 to U.S. Department of Homeland Security

    3) Front and back copy of my I-551 also called Green card.

    4) Copy of official ID: showing my Photo, Name, and DOB

    Am I missing anything guys?

    1) Do i need to include Cover letter and Passport photos?

    2) Do i need to write 2 separate checks for i-131 $360 and biometrics $85?

I have read the instruction here:

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-131instr.pdf

    Thank you!

  6. Thank you guys ! have a nice day !

    Your address.

If you filed a form 1040, 1040EZ, 1040A or other similar form 1040 intended for residents, then you have filed as a resident.

If you filed form 1040NR, which is intended for non-residents and can only be used by certain classes of people (such as those on student visas, those foreigners not living in the US but with US source income, etc), then you have filed as a non-resident. My understanding is it would not be legal to use form 1040NR if you are a citizen or LPR.

    * Do not construe the above as tax or legal advice!

  7. Hello all,

I'm filling out I-131 and i'm stuck on below question:

    Part 5.

Question #1. Since becoming a permanent resident of the United States (or during the past 5 years, which ever is less) how much total time have you spend outside the United States?

    1a) Less than 6 months

    1b) 6 months to 1 year

    1c) 1 to 2 years

    1d) 2 to 3 years

    1e) 3 to 4 years

    1f) more than 4 years

it has been in US almost 2 years and have never left US.

Do i just not select any of those answer options? So how do i answer the above question?

There is no option for: None or spent 0 time outside the U.S.

    Thank you!

Ok so I DON'T need to apply for reentry travel document as long as my extended green card is valid?

    hopefully you will get approved before that. but in case you didn't get approved by then you need;

your expired GC with the original extension letter . good luck

Most people do not realize that the airline you choose to fly has a lot of power in this situation. Unable to board the aircraft, unable to return to the US. Please check your intended airline to make certain they accept the expired GC and the extension letter. Most major carriers do. This is one time where trying to save a dollar or hundred may cause issues when trying to return to the US.

Hopefully you will have the new GC by then.

    Good luck,

    Dave

  9. Hey guys,

What happens after the ROC case is approved?

Do we get Permanent Residency card? When does it expire? and when can we apply for citizenship?

From what i understand, basically what we have now is A Conditional Green Card and after ROC case is approved we get A Permanent Green Card which is valid for 10 years and within 10 years we apply for US Citizenship?

Please help clear this for me :)

  10. Hello guys,

    Background info:

I am currently in process for Removal of Conditional Residency.

I have completed the below steps:

    1) Applied i-751 in late Feb 2014.

    2) Received 1 year extended stay letter (Expiring around April-May 2015)

    3) Completed biometrics appointment.

From what I have read, it takes about 6 months to get the ROC approved. 6 months from now would be September 2014.

I plan to travel abroad around November or December of 2014.

    My Q's:

    1) What paperworks do i need to get ready for traveling abroad in around Nov/Dec 2014?

    2) Can I travel with just the extended stay letter (extended green card) from above #2?

    3) Do i need to apply for travel documents? What is a travel documents? any info, link please.

    Much appreciated !
