Hi there! Finland allows dual citizenship so there's no risk of losing the Finnish one. You do have to register your new citizenship with the Finnish authorities though afterwards, and from what I've understood, aside from obtaining an apostille, the process is free of charge. The registration can be done through an embassy abroad. I'll find out soon enough, my oath ceremony is next week... Here's info about the policy in Finnish:

I haven't seen a zip code breakdown of what areas Chula Vista and San Diego offices serve, they both serve "San Diego county". I had my interview in Chula Vista although distance-wise I live way closer to the downtown office.

Got email notification yesterday that my oath ceremony has been scheduled. Quick, considering that my interviewer told me it would take 1-2 months- only took 10 days!

I sent in only what was specifically asked for, then brought all kinds of proof with me to the interview. I was only asked for my green card and passport, that was it.

Got home from vacation to find my interview letter had arrived in the meantime. Interview scheduled for Aug 14, notice dated July 9. Received email notification of upgrade July 8. Don't know when the actual letter arrived.

OP, I would suggest for you to read up on the cycle of abuse. (Resources here, here and here.) From what you are saying, it seems quite clear that you are being emotionally abused by your husband. Even if you don't think so, it's good to be aware. Abuse that's not physical often gets overlooked, even if the consequences can be equally devastating. I wish you all the best! <3

I wondered the same thing but assumed they only wanted trips outside the US within the last 3 years. That's what I listed- not what I did before I arrived here.

2015 US Passport Application Tracker List

Did an infopass yesterday to get a USCIS perspective. Although it's the CBP that process re-entry, the USCIS didn't see a problem with the name discrepancy. Tickets in the passport name, then the worst the CBP could do would be to pull me in secondary in which I would explain the different versions that can all be derived from legal documents (which I carry with me)- no problem.

JACo, my passport was very recently renewed.

Trying to book tickets overseas, not sure what to do with these insane airline "security" rules nowadays...

Say my first name officially is Mary, middle name is Jane and I have always gone by Jane, NOT Mary. Last name Green (married name). Maiden name Brown.

Name on my foreign passport: Mary Jane Green.

Name on my 10yr green card: Jane B Green.

What name do I use to book my tickets? According to the airline, name on the ticket has to match the name on the passport exactly. So despite the fact that I have traveled as Jane all my life, according to this I have to now start traveling as Mary Jane. So Mary Jane Green.

What about when I re-enter the US with my green card that says Jane B Green?

Does anyone have experience with these situations? Your advice is highly appreciated.

Done with biometrics! Chula Vista ASC was busy today- they were turning away walk ins, I showed up an hour before my appointment time and was told to come back in half an hour.The waiting time once inside was about an hour. The actual appointment went relatively smoothly and the person I dealt with was friendly enough.
