PI isn't eligible for electronic processing, everything you do will have to be by snail mail.
The petitioner will handle and sign all the affidavit of support package details. The Beneficiary will have to fill out, sign and send the documents for the IV package. The beneficiary can do this ahead of time and send it to the Petitioner, and the petitioner sends in the package to NVC or they can mail the IV package directly to NVC from where they are.

Soooo, our IV bill appeared as PAID early this afternoon! My DS-260 has been completed (reviewed by me at least 10 times and by my Hubby at least 5) and submitted. Supporting documents e-mail has been sent and auto-response from NVC has been received. Yaaaaay!!! As prepared as I was to complete the DS-260, it took longer than I expected and my brain is drained now!
Feels really good to have that done!! Now to wait for our "Case Complete"!!!

NVC gets the open dates from consulate, NVC schedules you in an open slot, then informs consulate, either the next day or a day after your case is sent to your consulate. Until then the consulate has no idea you exist.

You should, especially paper packages. In case something slips out of your package or gets lost, it can easily be put back in it's proper place.
It's not required, but NVC also suggests you do the same thing for the same reason. I've seen many people have papers lost out of their packages and they have to send in another copy because there wasn't a case number on each page.

There is a difference between disability and welfare. Social Security Disability is for workers that have become unable to physically or mentally work. It is a process to qualify and doctors back them with evidence. As a US citizen, we pay into the Social Security fund out of our wages. Welfare on the other hand is a government program for people that do not work and have no income so the government gives them a check if they find them eligible. You shouldn't have anything to worry about with her being on disability. Good luck!

There are no I-134 "files" or guidelines. Typically the consulates use the I-864 guidelines. Not sure where you are looking. There can only be ONE co-sponsor for the I-134/visa. Better not use that source any more, it is not accurate.
The "government benefits" you refer to would be welfare benefits. Disability is not welfare and is acceptable income. If the disability itself is enough you do not need a co-sponsor.
What you SHOULD do is get yourself more educated on the process, which you are doing now, and be careful what you read and assume.

The green card is the permanent residency card. with a CR-1 you were eligible for a green card as soon as you made your entry into the US.
If it has been three weeks since you arrived, you can take your passport with the visa (which is your temporary green card) and apply for a social security number at a local social security office.

OK, since yer husband is showing up with you - get a wheelchair from the hotel (yes, they do have them)
and then have HIM push you to the IV unit - figure 13 minutes push ride. Plan accordingly.
    Good Luck !
    You have to wait.
In the meantime - what's the exit plan? Ultimately, you can't jump on the plane till you have passport with visa stamp. Do you know the return policy on the US Embassy / Haiti / IV Unit? How many days? It's important, as someone has to buy a plane ticket on extrememly short notice (which means the ticket is about 600 percent more than if bought 3 months prior) .
Seriously - what's the exit plan?

Her fiance had to have filled out all the forms for her and signed her name, so all she handed over was her birth certificate. Or he filled them all out and told her, sign here. Then sent the package. There's NO way the petition was approved with missing documents.

dna proof not needed for a uscitizen living in the usa.
it's the reverse when the pregnant one is the foreigner.
as to pictures - bring all, have them ready to show.
You need to pine on and on about how your wife is pregnant, and rapidly show her increasing size via the photos, and keeping pining about how you need to be there to help her.

I got a call from my Congressman's Immigration person this morning. He called to tell us congratulations and good luck with the interview. He's been keeping track of our case since our NOA2. He also said that once Mr. Sheeshka is approved Congressman Roe will be sending him a letter welcoming him to Tennessee. I thought that was very nice. (and I'm sure a wonderful gesture during the election year.)

It's Labor Day here in Paraguay too, that's why my husband's interview, which was originally suppossed to be today was moved to yesterday. He was approved after a short and simple interview (albeit an hour and a half long wait beforehand).
Thanks Saylin for your words of wisdom and for helping us and so many others get through NVC quickly and with a little less stress. We're going home soon!!!

If you were a US citizen or green card holder during 2009 and 2010 your worldwide income should have been reported on your US tax return.
Current and continuing income is the primary concern for the affidavit of support. Do you meet the requirement with your annualized 2012 income? If yes, then you ought to be in good shape.
