Same as last time you posted the question. You are adjusting status based on marriage to a US citizen, correct? Why would you have to be away from your family? At this point, the virus doesn't affect anything related to your Adjustment of status case. You have to be patient and wait.
Once you file a proper I-485, you will be granted authorized stay.
Maybe I am overthinking all this. Thanks

If you AOSed then that B1 is probably cancelled anyway. What bases are you adjusting from? If marriage, then did you include the I-130/I-130A. Did you include a G-1145 for electronic notification?
It's based of marriage to a US citizen (been married for a while). Yes, I did send the I-130, I-485, etc...My issue is that they haven't sent me any notification, even though they received the package since Feb 24th.
I think the B1 is valid since my application is not found in their system yet.

Hi,
I am looking for some insight in this case: I mailed my adjustment of status application (with working permit, travel doc...) at the end of Feb. I still haven't received anything, even though I have this weird feeling that they will return it because of the recent form changes. In all this, my B1 visa of six month will expire on April 8th. Now with the virus, my chance is even lower now at this point. If I don't receive a notice by then, I think my status will become Illegal, basically, which could lead to a entry ban in the future, possibly...I sound like Mister Doum, but I am just not sure on what to do because I don't want to be away from my family anymore.
What is my best course of action in this case?

What forum did you see those discussions? I want to learn more about how to deal with this situation.
I sent my package using UPS. It seems like they don't actually send packages on Saturday but on the following Monday. So the postal stamp is on Feb 24th. That's why they rejected it.
It was here on this website actually; Not sure how similar is it to your case, but here is the link:

My package got returned today and they said our forms are out of date. I hate it... I thought it was safe to send on Feb 22.... Now I need to figure out what's new. This is so frustrating
Wow! I will definitely get mine also then...I saw some people talking about that in another forum. Such a mess!!!

Mine was mailed on Feb 22 too; delivered on Feb 26th. I haven't heard anything now... I am worried that COVID-19 is gonna slow everything down
It is worrying indeed! I want to wait until the 30th days to maybe contact them

It can be up to 30 days - official information.
Thank you for your input; After 30 days, I guess I will have to contact them.

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has seen such a case before...I mailed my application on Feb 22 (canadian married to US citizen with kids) and it was received at Chicago Mail box on the 24th. I mailed I-130, I-485, travel document, work permit forms and the fees. Until today, almost a month I still haven't received any notification; My 6 months visa is about to expired and I am seriously concerned.
Any thought on this?

Hi, what type of visa are you adjusting status from? Here is the forum for adjusting status from work/tourist/student visa, and the forum for adjusting status from K1 visa, depending on which one you are adjusting status from. You may be able to find answers in one of those, since us here at NVC are not adjusting status but instead applying for visas from outside of the US
Oh great; thanks for the links; I found a thread with people asking for the same question that I had.
Cheers

Interesting here! I was so worried as I still haven't heard anything: Application mailed on Feb 22; Delivered on Feb 24

I am wondering if anyone can help me post this question at the right place:
I mailed my application to Chicago on Feb 22 for Adjustment of status, and it was received on Feb 24. However, I still have received any notification, no fund was withdrawn from my bank account. This is making me worried a lot nowadays...What could be the reason of this delay?

If you entered the US as a non-immigrant, the guide applies to you. Are currently inside the US?
Well, yes the guide applied to me, but the section you are quoting might not...
Yes, I am in the US, been for few months now;

Hi,
I have thought about this, even asked about it on this forum. We have been married for more than 5 years ago, while I was away for work. I don't need a visa to come to US, as I am from a visa-exempt country (but have visitor status as far as I know), so I thought the rule cited below wouldn't applied in my case...
Am I wrong?

I thought so too....I think I will send all by mail
1 hour ago, Pengunista said:I suggest you submit all of them together a long with the I-130. Don’t forget you need to submit I-130A also.
Indeed. Thanks

Hi,
I am about to submit I-130 online for adjustment of status (already in the US, living with American citizen spouse). However, I am wondering when I should submit the I-485 forms, including travel doc and working permit. I wish to have them processed the fastest and efficient way. Any take on the steps of submission in this case?

Changing your address won't cause a delay. Just update the address to USCIS on their website when the move is finalized. I wouldn't recommend making the new address the mailing address on your case so far ahead before moving, or else how will you receive your mail on your case?
We already have some family members there.

If you are adjusting status (sounds like you are) then I would use the new address from the start, as long as somebody is there to get your mail. Changing addresses in the middle of an adjustment of status case is something to be avoided at nearly any cost. USCIS is terrible about address changes during adjustment of status and the results can be a denial.
Note that if you use the new address, your biometrics appointment will be at an office near that address. Better to make a trip for than than to try to change addresses in the middle, in my opinion. That's what I thought. Thanks; will make sure

We are about to send our application for AOS, and we currently live in NY. However, we are planning on moving to another state in few months, for lifestyle reasons. The wife is working here in NY, while I will be waiting for a Working Permit. We would like to send our application, and making the new state our home (already have address there) before we finally move there. We believe that changing address while the application is processing might cause further delay....Could this situation cause problem?

Hi,
I have been living in Canada for the last couple of years, now we have made a plan to start the application process with my wife. I recently came to the US (using Canadian passport). Can we apply for concurrent filling, instead of consular proceeding? We have been married for long time, with 3 kids....

I would like to receive you guys’ thought about my situation. I am going to finally qualify for citizenship in February of this year, after waiting for almost 5 years. I temporary left two years ago for around 7 months to see my husband because our little boy was missing him. I have been here since then without a trip.
I am planning to submit my application in February (location: NY), and join him because we have almost been away for 5 years now, while my application is being processed. I have a secure place for mailing, so I should be able to quickly return for my fingerprint and also test and oath. My plan is to become citizen and then sponsor him so we can all move to Seattle.
Any advise? Can I travel while my application is pending? Any implication?
