  1. This morning my fiance received a call from the consulate in South Africa telling hime to come to the consulate between 1-4 on Monday. We've been on AP since November. They didn't request that he bring any documents but said that a decision will be made then. I just received a call from my senator's office and the contact person there said that on Monday he would have an interview. Anyone have any ideas? Should he take in more proof of relationship or any other documents? :help:

Hey Ochili i pray Monday all is over with and he gets the visa...Follow the previous suggestions and tell him do bring updated evidence and continued proof of relationship.

    Best of Luck

Oh Really?? I didn't know thasnapback.pngt the US Department of State had arrest authority in Haiti.

If I understand the concept of embassies correctly, any embassy is an extension of its country in another country and thus is considered safe haven for a citizen of that embassy's country(provided that the laws of the foreign country have not been violated) or in case of conflict, an extension of that country and a place to be shut down or put under surveillance at the least by the country in which the embassy exists. In other words, an embassy is a piece of a given country in another country.

OMG I can't believe the OP's question turned into a confusing dispute about whether or not the embassy has a right to arrest on the spot....Her fiance was denied the visa and she is looking for help....She may not know how to write perfect English but she is trying to get some help.

Again wait for your petition to be returned to USCIS and then contact them.

  3. Hey all! I just found out my K-1 fiance visa is in AP at NVC...anyone know the average wait time for this?

After searching, the only post I found was started in November 2011, and a lot can change in 5 months. The last I saw was about 2 weeks.

    Hey cadyinhaiti,

I am sorry to hear about your AP so early in the process, did they tell you why your on AP?

    Chynna

  4. Hi mauguste27, you are in AP and must wait until they are complete. This means between 30-90 days or more if extensive research on your case is required. I am sorry to hear about your AP. If everthing checks out then your wait wont be long at all. Good luck and keep us posted.

  7. Ok after hearing all that great carnival music today....maybe it will be worth going to Aux Cayes... Anyone else hear the new carnival music that is out now???? Please don't tell me I am the only one who enjoys carnival festivities :wow: ....

  8. Hey mani0118 the medical was like $280.00 but I will double check that for you tomorrow and the police cert he didn't need because he has never been arrested or committed any crimes which he was convicted for....The visa is only $10.00 american dollars.

The reason there are so many prices for the medical is because they are scamming people out there. It is a competitive business and the Doctors know we are at their mercy. Please read the reviews as far as medicals go because there is one doctor who really took advantage. So becareful and beware.

  9. I am sorry, I am christian, I do not go to ball. So I do not know if ther will be ball or which group is playing.

Lol oh ok so Christians don't know when balls are playing  ???? I have never heard that one but ok I understand.

    Thanks for trying to help.

  10. I do not go to clubs, i ma not a party person but i will try to ask some people for you what is the best places and i will let you know

There is a restaurant in El rancho, you cna have fun there too.

Thanks Rujby, I see in Haiti it's all about connections. Are there any Balls happenning next week?

  11. Hey Chynna,

Have fun on your trip. Sounds like you are ready to have some fun with your hubby! I've never been to Haiti but I would like to go and visit my future in-laws. Have fun! Blessings

Thanks Barbie, I know I will have fun. I always do but this time it is different because I have a chance to do more then ever before. Oh wow so you have never been to Haiti, despite what you see in the news it really is a wonderful place and the people know how to party regardless of the reality.

  12. Hey Haiti Portal,

I am going to Haiti next week and I want to do some different activities this time on my trip to Haiti. Each year I go and it's all about Carnaval for me. This year Carnival will be in Aux Cayes and I will not be traveling out to Aux Cayes to party soooooo i would like to know what else is there to do, that is fun, safe and of course romantic. I am looking for places to take great pictures with my finace but I am also looking for nightly hot spots for fun.

I also would like to hang-out and or just meet some of you Haiti VJ members who are currently in Haiti. It would be great to share a Prestige or a shot of Barbancourt with someone from VJ. I live in PetionVille very close to El Rancho. I am on the Digicel network so if anyone wants to give me info while in Haiti PM me for my cell number.

Some examples of what I am looking for are:

    Clubs

    Beaches

    Restaurants

Library- not romantic-but I can change that  hehehe.

ect.....anything you can think of would help. Without working internet at home it is not easy to know where the party is at unless you are glued to the radio.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  13. Hey mani0118 after getting your NOA2 the expenses start....You will get packet 3 and ask for it via email. It will never reach your fiance by mail. Then the medical needs to be done for your fiance. It does not cost what packet 3 says it will. It is way more money than that. Then you get a date for your interview. Make sure your fiance has a full copy of everything you sent to the embassy.

Will you be going to the interview?

  14. I never said that we have no money at all! :bonk:

Question on this poll is: "Would you give up the whole Visa process if you were offered a million dollars to never contact or come into contact with the beneficiary ever again?"

    My answer is: NO!

Thanks for your opinion. Also I can relate to your quote about the big wheel that spins you up---then---down. The goal is to always stay up as best you can.

  15. Hey mani0118,

Don't get to frustrated at this point in time because there is much more waiting to come. If you don't get anything by the date they stated then by all means file a service request if it has been longer than 5 months. The USCIS website is good but it doesn't always give timely updates. It did work for me, I recieved a text and an email and it would document each time my case was touched. Basically utilize VJ as the great resource it is and use the strategies wisely and by all means use them when you need to. Keep busy. Heck plan your wedding, that should take your mind off the waiting.
