That is a form of gender discrimination in that he was sexualizing her because of her gender. Whether she was replaced by a man or a woman is irrelevant.
Ruling that a man is incapable of controlling his sexual desires is laughable. And men should be insulted in this, as it basically implies that men are no better evolved than animals. It also makes them unaccountable for other sexual actions, like harassment, assault and rape. All of this falls under similar categories as victim-blaming and #######-shaming. The woman did nothing wrong and should not be punished for doing nothing wrong. The man should be held accountable for his own actions. How can he get away with blaming someone for his own thoughts and fears?
I am extremely disappointed that we live in a society where this sort of sexism, discrimination, and male supremacy can still reign in the eyes of the law.

Seriously, this country has outstanding designs and clothing for petite women. I refuse to believe that a petite woman is unable to find fantastic, form-fitting clothes. As long as a woman is willing to spend a few dollars on finer fabrics and cuts, and maybe invest in a good seamstress should things need tailoring, one can have lovely clothes.

I'm worried about irresponsible idiots with guns, wherever they may be.
One felony conviction might be due to a single mistake. Three is due to a pattern of irresponsibility. In most cases, that's a 4th felony waiting to happen. Rather not have a gun involved when it does.

Most parents don't want any guns in their schools. I be willing to bet that even after this tragedy, most of the parents from Sandy Hook would still be agains guns in school.
Why don't you go down and ask them? I can see it now. "Hello Mrs. so and so, sorry to hear about your 6 year old. My name is Kip, I'm a gun nut with 3 felonies under my belt, can I ask you a few questions?"

Seeing you're a 3 time felon, I'm sure being surrounded by armed guards is the norm for you. But I would gather that most parents of grade school kids would think otherwise.

You might live in a cave up there in Alaska but the nation as a whole cannot survive without having the next generation brought up educated and ready to take over while we retire. I know you folks like to pretend that in this country it's each man for himself but that is NOT how this country became the economic superpower that it is. That is NOT how this nation became a global leader. That tunnel vision you suffer from prevents you from seeing how interdependent people in a nation are. Countries that function the way you seem to favor are what is commonly referred to as failed countries. Somalia being a prime sample. That country is your ideal world. You should really check it out. Meanwhile, real Americans will deny you and yours the opportunity to turn this great nation of ours into a failed state.

Generally speaking, galactically stupid stuff emerges when people that have no skin in the game want to make the rules for the game. You know, like when a bunch of old geezers with no medical background feel that they know best how to address women's health issues. It also applies where we try and figure out how to keep our children safe in school. Having some involvement in the education and schooling of our young - whether as a parent or a staffer in the system - would be a prerequisite to meaningfully participate in the debate. That circle widens when we talk about safety issues - then our public safety professionals get a seat at the table, too. Gun nuts? Not so much. They can meet separately to talk about improvements at the gun range or some useless ####### like that.

Yeah I knew how to use power tools when I was 12. But I wasn't using my dad's power tools at 12 years old if he wasn't there. And if he was there, I wasn't going to be using his power tools to get his guns out of the safe.

I seem to recall reading that there were no fatalities in the knife attack. That sort of jumped out at me as a big difference.

Something needs to be done about guns in this country. I'm not against someone owning one, but let's stop being in denial that there is a serious problem here.

The Newtown Bee is reporting multiple police, ambulance and emergency crews are at the scene, and there are multiple reports of injuries being reported.
