Affidavit of support question. Mother in laws brother signed for 5 relatives and three of the 5 have become US Citizens. This was a family of three and a couple. Question is does he have to list those 3 US Citizens on a new I 864 form?

I'm telling the complete story. When you file an appeal you send in the missing information. I couldn't say for sure that the ombudsman made the difference or her file just reached the top of the pile. Based on what I know it looks like the ombudsman made the difference.

For the I 130 do we need to hire a translater for the birth certificate recipient and death certicate of the other parent? It says to include the parents Passport.. Are they talking about a copy of it?

I never hired a lawyer. The lawyer I am talking about works for The Office of Chief Counsel USCIS. She sent my case to the Department of Justice

Thanks for looking into it Susie. Yes when I saw the dept of justice I thought of trouble then when I wrote to them and they never heard of our case I wrote back to the lawyer at uscis who said she sent our case to the dept of justice. Haven't received a reply. I'm sure we need to start over.

Maybe not with immigration but an appeal is a second chance. Often it's heard by a civilian reviews board who tend to be liberal. I'm sure the i-130 is going to ask if we applied before and were denied. I was trying to avoid that. My last correspondence was June 15th I'm going to wait a couple weeks and then apply for the i-130 again. And to answer one of the questions no I wasn't a part of applying for the first i-130

Could be an Appeal was the wrong way to go however I paid for the Appeal and it hasn't been heard.. I was thinking about local matters where the goverment denies you then you appeal. You can't just submit another application. I would never have thought to just apply again.

I was born here and my wife has a certificate of naturization and a US Passport. I just followed the directions on the decision paper to appeal. I didn't think another I 130 would be the proper way to handle this based on that decision letter.

My wife became a US Citizen January 16th 2015

I'm not sure what she failed to include and she says she can't remember. It was 2 years ago now. I'm positive I included everything required for the Appeal.
I failed to say that I copied to the USCIS lawyer the letter I sent to the Dept of Justice as she requested then my last letter was to USCIS lawyer on June 15th 2021 explaining what the Justice Dept said. No response so far.

My wife (Colombian) now US Citizen filed an I -130 on July 5th 2019. She didn't include all the required paperwork and it was denied on April 29th 2020. I filed an Appeal May 16th 2020 and submitted all the required documents. May 26th 2020 received a Receipt on Form I 797C then on 7-21 2020 she received Form I 797C notice of Action which Transferred her case to the Potomac Service Center. On May 28th 2021 Received a letter from Office of Chief Counsel USCIS dated April 30th 2021; Notice to Petitioner Appeal has been forwarded to the Board of Immigration Appeals. To check the status of your appeal write to US Department of Justice in Falls Church Va.
Office of Chief Counsel USCIS included an A number so I wrote to the Dept of Justice June 5th 2021 including a copy of the letter I received from USCIS and they wrote back June 11th 2021 No record of the "A" number and No Record of a case pending. The wife’s mother has a visitor’s Visa and has been in the USA three times never over staying or working.
Any advice would be helpful.

They received the documents and cashed the check on July 5 of 2019. They sent me a paper April of 2020 saying I didn't send a proof of being a US citizen so I appeal and sent the proper paper plus a check for 145.00 that they asked. They cashed the check and said she was back in process and I haven't hear anything since then. Any idea how long is this taking? Anyone experiencing this? TIA

Greetings to everyone in this forum and I would like to wish all a happy new year.
My question is what is the process to obtain a social security card after marriage. Unfortunately I cannot locate a good reference in this web site.
If anyone has already obtained a social security card for their better half, please assist me with what are the requirements.
Best regards to all.

I wouldn't take any chances. If they requested something then your fiance should have it. You don't want to cause a delay. Just send him or her over to DHL to pick it up.

My fiance interview is tomorrow for the K-1 Visa. I mailed my birth certificate to him and according to DHL they attempted delivery but no one at home (which is untrue). His interview appt is 7am tomorrow morning and the probability of getting the DHL package is low.
Please, does the embassey actually need the petitioner birth certificate for the fiancee visa? Help please from people who had been to these interview.
Also, any quick tips on interview questions from people who have gone within the last 7days? What is the trend of questions they are asking now in Lagos?
Thanks,

They didn't care that my wifes name wasn't on the lease. They never even brought it up but you never know. Just ask them to add your name to the existing lease. That shouldn't be a problem.

Hello can somebody advise me please???? I'm married and living with my husband who is a citizen and want to apply a green card for me. We have all the documents that showed that we are married but I'm not on the lease of our apartment because we have not been living together until we got married and it is too late to add me to it. we have to wait until april of next year to renew it and my work authorization will be expired before then and we want to start the process next month. Now we both are worried about that. We have every other documents requested, so do anyone think it is a big issue to worry about? Thanks

We are married. She has my last name. She has a green card, marriage license ,state ID, SS Card all in her married name.
She is flying home to Colombia.
We go to the airport and they say the ticket is in the married name and she has a Colombian Passport and ID with her maiden name. She may not be able to fly.
They call everyone and the brother then say OK. This is at the ticket counter in Pittsburgh. 30 minutes! Airline lady says I have to slid the passport on the key pad and the names have to match.
If I get the ticket in her maiden name then she will have a possible problem returning plus it's not her name. My wife says she don't think she can have her name changed on the Colombian passport because they don't change the names when they get married in Colombia.
Going to Canada they only wanted the Green Card. Mexico wasn't a problem. May have been a slight problem.
Side note is Pittsburgh said we may have a problem in Miami. Miami never compared the names.

My Dominican Republic citizen friend age 25 was the girlfriend of a 61-year-old US citizen from Houston. Her boyfriend was a naturalized US citizen originally from Mexico. Girl became pregnant. US citizen said he was going to Houston to get the naturalization papers. Girlfriend found out he was married. I think he received a divorce but I'm not certain. Citizen had a massive heart attack and died at 61 last October. Dominican girlfriend has a copy of his passport and driver's license. Deceased citizens name is on the 2-year-old's birth certificate and the 2-year-old has the last name of the deceased citizen. Deceased citizens family unreceptive in trying to help the 2-year-old. Question is how should the Dominican mother proceed with immigration and survivor benefits
