Should be posted in the regional forum.

Like Andy and Kayla said, undeliverable usually means it's ready for pick-up.
Mine was "undeliverable" too. It just means they don't have permission to mail it to your home address. Go pick it up (and bring an ID)!
Congratulations

I received mine after my interview took place. Go figure. Don't wait to receive yours and see their website to send your package asap : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_pkt3

I would definitely go back to my hometown (I am close with both family and friends), Quebec, or try Vancouver. I have great things about Canada's West coast. But now living in New Mexico, I got used to the sunshine and awesome weather... I don't want to have to shovel snow anymore!

So, we finally got our marriage certificate(s) so we can now begin the AoS process and name change process, as my wife is changing her name. But I'm not sure if I should officially change her name before, during, or after submitting the AoS application? Ideally we would like to have it done ASAP, but is changing during the AoS process going to be trouble. According to information from the consulate, the name change is going to be a drawn-out process...
Thanks for your help!
Don't forget to apply for AOS with her new name. Marriage certificate should be enough to changer her driver's license and most stuff (utility bills, Canadian passport, etc) but I am pretty sure you will have to wait for her green card to changer her name on SSN.

Not sure about what you can do about your credit but if you want to check out a good car value for your needs, here's a handy website : http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com
Good luck!

IzaKing : If it hasn't been issued yet you will not find anything through DHL. You should get it soon. Hang in there!
Angela : You will not be able to reach someone at the consulate by phone. You can pray they answer your email or you can contact DHL (phone or in person at your local branch). Also double check their email with tracking number is not in your spam folder. It can take a few business days for them to mail the issued visa.

Oh, thank goodness. Thank you!!
I have the same on my DS-3025. Some vaccines are not age appropriate (ex. rotavirus). In that case, you will not need to complete another medical as long as yours is still valid when you apply for AOS (it's good for a year). Instead of having a a whole new medical (I-693), you will just send in your DS-3025 with your AOS, EAD and AP applications.

I am in the process of getting a K1 visa, and have recently gotten the NOA2 approved. I just received a letter from the consulate in Montreal asking for proof of legal immigration status in canada. Have others received this? What documents did you submit?
Im assuming PR card/landing document is what i'd send. Do originals need to be submitted or will copies do? Is there anything else I should send along??
Thanks for the input!
Might want to move your thread to the Canada regional forum. You should have more knowledgeable answers there. Whatever document you provide, do NOT send the original. Keep all originals for your interview.

Nope not approved, still pending. 1 to 3 months for EAD and AP, AOS slow here in Arizona. Sept;ember is the end of the physical year.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. However I am still clueless what this is about.

Hi fellow VJers,
My husband and I applied for my AOS this July. I had a biometrics appointment done 3 weeks ago and we are now waiting for them to update status on my EAD, AP and I-485.
However, I received this weird email with a I-129F update. Need I say my visa has already been issued? I am a little confused about what this means. Does any of you have experience with this? Why are they updating my I-129F when it has long been approved and issued? My biometrics have also been provided already...
Are they just slow at sending email updates?

Your medical is only valid for a year, so most people wait until just before your interview to have it done, that way it will still be valid for when you do AOS.
Correct. If you file your AOS and your original medical is still valid (it is for a year), you can just send in your DS-3025 (vaccination sheet) and not have a whole other medical done.

Metro (subway) all the way. Convenient, fast and reliable. Forget about cab/bus. Horrible in traffic downtown.
Map your itinerary here : http://www2.stm.info/taz/index.php?lng=en

How long did it take for you to get your passport back?
5 weeks. 4 days from the moment I called and DOS told me it had been issued & printed.

On a slow cooker note.... I gave my old slow cooker away because my husband-to-be already had one. Turns out his wasn't as good as mine so now I'm back in the market for a new one.
What kind does everyone else have, and are you happy with it? I can't get my old kind anymore because it was one of the originals. It's older than some of our members
and still going strong.
I wouldn't trade my Crockpot for any other kind

If you did mail them additional info by mail after your interview, it is at least 4 weeks before they do anything with it. Happened to me and I went crazy. I hear back from them by week 5. AP means nothing good or bad. Unless they did raise an issue, it's just that in-between phase after the interview and when your visa is ready.
You should hear from them soon. Hang in there and use those last days in Canada to the fullest!

Thank you Udella & Inky for the helpful information. Being from Quebec, I am used to the up to 25 weeks parental leave in which you get paid for at least 55% of your base salary. And you can split it between both parents. Even if it's up to 3 unpaid months in the U.S, it's still a big adjustment for me. I guess not paying as much taxes makes up for it.

Well I'm at a loss on what to make for supper, I figure if I get started soon I can actually make something decent and not have to get the kids to finish what I started. Good thing they can cook. So what is everyone else doing for supper so I can get some ideas.
Invest in a slow cooker! I cut my veggies and meat the night before. In the morning, I toss everything in the slow cooker with broth and I forget about it. First thing I know, my husband is home from work and the house smells like I've been cooking for hours!

And I did not realise that this was in the Canadian section but it still applies!
Sorry for intruding!
I'm sure we can make this a Commonwealth thread
Haha wow you guys have spirit! I just moved this June and I am still adjust (and probably will for a while). Love your advice to divide and conquer the chore Udella&Wiz, and Aloe's NEWSFLASH. The wedding itself was easy for us, we both come from non religious families and we had a ceremony held in our backyard with a friend officiant and our 2 witnesses. We will do a big reception with both families and friends later.
I've been a career person for all my adult life and I found it unsettling to have to sit around and wait during the visa process. Now that I am in the U.S., that's still what I am doing. I am waiting for my EAD/green card and my fiance and I also want to start a family. We're not getting any younger so... I kinda hope I'll get pregnant before I get it. I have to say work benefits here sucks when you compare them to what we had in Canada. I have a friend here who just got a baby, and barely a month and a half later, she had to get back to work
The way I found to cope with my boredomness was to find a rewarding volunteering position and make new friends. I am also fortunate my husband and I could afford a second car for me, so I can do whatever I want whenever I want. Being in NM, commuting is practically non-existent and being stuck at home watching Real Housewives reruns was not the greatest for my self esteem. Overall, I would say my husband and I are adjusting pretty well to living together. We both do our best to keep an open-minded attitude about our differences. It's almost shocking that us Canadians think moving to the U.S. is no big deal, because after all we're neighbors, only to discover that it is in fact a whole foreign country and is about as different from Canada as any other. I have vacationed on the East coast several times but living in the Southwest now, it's a whole new thing.

Count me in!
I've been looking for Canucks and French speaking groups around here (NM) but I haven't had much luck. I never understood ghettos but now that I am living abroad, I feel this need to try and fit in some Canadian community. Skype with my family and friends in Canada can only do so much.
I just moved this June ans I am still in my newlywed bliss. Being a lazy bum scratching my butt watching tv and cooking for my husband. I found a rewarding volunteer position for a local non-profit to keep myself busy and involved. But there's just not that much butt to scratch... and watching Real housewives reruns is only distracting for so long. I've always been very focused on my career so I'm kinda still getting around this new rhythm (and life). On the other hand, I've been waiting for my visa for so long that I don't feel like waiting for anything anymore. So I'm hanging out until I get my EAD. Or I get pregnant. Whichever comes first
Oh and I'd love to hear about Visa Nazi chick too

If he does get denied entry for some reason, would he be able to try again? We know that it depends on the customs officer he gets, but we have 2 entry spots here in Detroit and maybe if he gets denied at the bridge he could cross at the tunnel?
They compile everything and scan passports nowadays. No matter where he would try next, once he got denied, he's flagged in the system. He can try again but he would need more proof than the last time (and a more lenient officer). Trust me, I had to turn around in Detroit a little over a year ago and I had quite a few proofs I would go back to Canada when I said I would and they still wouldn't let me go visit. I had a long history of visiting too and it made no difference.
I'm not saying he should stop visiting. Just keep in mind it is a possibility that one day, he might be denied entry. And absolutely bring as much proof of ties to Canada as he possibly can
For instance, in addition to a lease and pay stubs, he could have a letter from his employer saying he's expected back by 00/00.
-
As I said before, no guarantees in border crossings.
Unfortunately, he could be denied entry even if he has the proper documentation. Just be aware it can happen so you won't be too disappointed. If so, it will not hurt his application as long as he tells the truth and stays clam and polite. It's a decision that's always up to the custom officer and most don't like to hear about a wife and belongings being across the border. Once denied, he would have a hard time visiting again before he has his visa in hand. However, with the visa issued, he will have no problem.
You can marry anywhere as long as you obtain a valid marriage certificate. Enjoy your special day!
Good luck!

Be aware that entry in the U.S. is not guaranteed during the process, even if you legally apply on the proper visa, and it will take about a year for him to get his visa. A lot of people, including Canadians, are denied entry every year during their visa process. It's always up to the custom officer. And some get cold feet when they hear you'll be visiting your better half across the border and you have plans to move across the border. Make sure he always carries both proof of residence and employment in Canada when he visits you. Should he ever be denied entry, it won't hurt the visa application as long as he tells the truth.
Good luck!

I need my social security number for to send my papers of adjustment of status?
If you have one you need to disclose it. If you don't have one yet, don't write anything in that box. Most people don't wait to have one to file and I certainly wouldn't
Preparing for Interview in Montreal HELP
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
For specific questions regarding Montreal, you'd have much more luck in the Canada regional forum.
Only way to pay for your interview in advance is online when you booked it. Otherwise it's 350 USD$ cash only at your appointment. I assume you are talking of DS-160 printout. You complete it once and cannot return to edit any data afterwards. Your printed confirmation page with bar code is enough. The interview experience has been discussed in great lengths (in the Canada regional forum) and you can read reviews here : http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/
And you can read some more about here on the consulate's website. Everything needed is listed there : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_pkt4
Good luck!
