Thank you everyone for taking time to reply. Much appreciated

I couldn't find an answer on the forum and I am crossing Wednesday :
When you active your K-1, do you need to provide an estimate worth for the personal belongings you are travelling with? If so, how do you estimate used clothes value...? I am just taking 2 luggage of clothes, shoes and some jewelry. Do I need to go over everything and estimate the total worth?
Any advise is welcome. Thank you!

I thought if you stayed in the US for 6 months you had to stay out for the same period of time to reset your 6 months time allowance, but don't believe me; ask or call your customs office.
Good Luck
The law doesn't require you to stay out of the US for as long as you've been in but no POE officer will not let be what they call a de facto resident. Makes sure you don't give a hint of a lie and answer truthfully otherwise it could hurt your visa application. And yes, brings lots of ties to Canada (proof of residence, letter from work saying they expect her back by XX date, car ownership title, etc).
If they deny her the extension she will have to go back to Canada and will most likely not be able to travel to the US again until the visa is issued.
Good luck!

They said they do pick them up daily.

When did u get your email, im hoping to get one too, just not sure if its too late already
I got the email around 6:50 PM last night. It was first scanned at 6:43 PM.
When I talked to DHL earlier this week, the operator told me the visas are picked up during the day and on the road to the DHL branch by 7 or 8 PM that same day. Mine transited through Dorval and has now reached its destination. CSC website has also update to show the waybill.
I hope you gets yours quickly!
-
Just got an email from dhl with the waybill # !
Right now tracking shows it is in a processing facility in montreal. I guess we'll expect it tomorrow or monday.
Hopefully a bunch of you just got emails as well
Our visas must've been in the same pile, I got my waybill number as well!!!! Can't wait for a confirmed delivery and go pick it up

Does someone need to be at home to sign for it or just left in the mailbox?
Just in the mailbox by regular snail mail. You can be updated on your case by calling Department of State (1-202-663-1225, press 1, press 0). Have your MTL0000000 case number ready.
There is nothing more in your Packet 3 instructions than what is listed on the consulates website here : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=index
Tip : save time and start gathering everything now. As soon as DOS tells you it's been mailed to you, send your package to Montreal.

Octopus :
Go to http://www.dhl.ca/ca/wfHomeOpen.aspx and log in your Reference ID number and select "Reference" in the "Track a shipment" section.
You can find your Reference ID number on the CSC website. Once you're logged into your account, it shows right by your passport #.
If you still can't see a waybill number, drive to your local DHL branch and ask them in person.
-
Octopus : I did not receive my visa yet but it was issued June 6. My interview and every step is in my timeline (see my signature).
Good luck for yours!

Did the DHL or CSC sites tell you anything last night? Ours didn't, but our visa was only issued on Monday, whereas they told you it would be shipped yesterday.
Mine was issued Monday June 6 and nothing shows up either on CSC or DHL.ca. I called DHL yesterday and they explained that they pick the visas at the consulate during the day and the truck leaves for its destination around 7-8 PM. It's ready for pickup the following morning.
AplusJ : I know how you feel and I hope you get good news soon

Is there a way to extend that visit? Could we not file for an extension and get a tourist visa or maybe even a student visa while the CR1 is being processed?
Good question but I would think not. You cannot use a visa for another purpose than the one it grants you. If she still has a visa in process, why would they consider delivering another one?
I did consider this option to be with my fiance during the K-1 process and I decided against it. Also keep in mind if she stays out of Canada for 181 consecutive days she will be considered to no longer reside in Canada. It implies resigning her driver's license and public health care benefits.

I'm sorry if these questions are so irritating... I'm actually the petitioner and trying to figure out what to do for the beneficiary (then I try to explain it to him instead of complicating things). My fiance is flying into Montreal a few days before the interview (it's on a Monday) and getting the medical done then. I'm seeing some places say three business days ahead, so hopefully Wednesday before will be ample time. The reason being is that Montreal/Toronto are about a 24 hour drive for him (he's just east of the Manitoba/Ontario border).
Does anyone know if the medical is sent to the consulate directly, or if he has to go and pick it up?
Thanks again for all of your help!
Your questions are not irritating but it is appreciated when people do a little research before asking questions that have been answered on this thread before
Your fiance will need to pick it up himself and 3 days are required for Medisys to process his medical results. That's if he doesn't need anything retested. If he goes Monday it means his results should be ready some time Wednesday. Not sure about the other place in Montreal.
If the results are not ready by his interview, the clinic will provide him a sealed letter and he will need to mail it in later with his passport. If you complete your application by mail after your interview it results in a 6 to 8 week delay from the moment they receive it.
Edit : you might want to start your own threat for case related questions. You would get more answers.

Thanks for the help guys. Still no waybill # on my visa site so far, however it's only been 24 hours since the interview. So what is DOS? Department of State? And how do I call them to check on whether or not the visa has been printed? I have everything prepped and ready to cross, with the presumption it would be this friday, but I'm getting worried it might not be until next monday now.
That's why they tell you not to make any plans until you have your visa. You can call Department of State at : 1-202-663-1225, press 1, press 0. Have in hand your consulate case number. Th operator will be able to tell you whether your visa was issued or not. If it is, count 3-5 days before DHL actually picks it up.

Weeks
Could be faster but that would be average.

Hi Everyone,
We just got our NOA2 approval for I129F. Can somebody help me out and let me know what's the next step. I am leaving for Chicago on Fri and I will be back end of June. When does package 3 come? Any information will help.
Thanks!
Edit : Congratulations!!!
Your case is transiting through National Visa Center (NVC) and will be transferred to Montreal's consulate. You can start calling NVC to obtain your local case number. That's what you will need to track your case once it makes it to Montreal.
Expect your case to sit at NVC for 2-3 before it makes it to your local consulate. Packet 3 will be mailed 3-4 weeks after the consulate gets your case. Montreal is notoriously backlogged and slow. You will likely not receive your Packet 3 for another 5-6 weeks (sorry!).
Good thing is, once your case is transferred to Montreal, you can call Department of State (DOS) to get updates. Montreal doesn't take calls and rarely answers emails. Once DOS tells you Packet 3 has been mailed to you, you can send the consulate your package. If you wait for your actual letter to arrive by snail mail, it could make you wait for another extra month.
Everything you will need to provide is listed here : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=index
Good luck!

Have you tried using the RefID on the CSC website on the DHL page, tracking by reference (not waybill)?
Yes, nothing shows yet. I'll keep looking!

I hope you all get your visas. My fiance's visa was issued on May 26th. We're still waiting for them to mail it. Hopefully you all get yours immediately like many others did. One lady at the DOS number told me that if the consulate it busy it can take a week or so for it to go through QC and mail out or whatever. I'm getting pretty close to contacting my representative in congress.
2 weeks out and it's still not mailed? Does the waiting ever end...
I hope we both get it by the end of the week!
Unless you made arrangements with the Quebec branch (through CSC website) your fiance will need to drive there to pick it up. Good news is once it's mailed it's an overnight delivery.
-
I hope you guys get your visa soon as well

So using the usvisa-info.com site I used to book my appointment? Where would I find the waybill #?
http://csc.public.s3.amazonaws.com/waybill_instructions_en.pdf
Congrats on your visa!
-
I called DOS yesterday late afternoon and was told my visa was issued on June 6
Just waiting for that waybill number now... I can't wait to go pick it up and book my flights!!!
-
Yay!!!! I called DOS yesterday and was told my visa was issued on June 6. Guess I can finally start planning that wedding
There was no waybill available yet at DOS or anything displayed on CSC and DHL.ca websites. How long does it usually take until it's delivered to my DHL branch?

Does the I864 need to be completed for the K1 visa??? http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/visas/pdfs/visa_checklist.pdf <<< it's listed in this checklist... can anyone tell me?
As a K-1 you file I-134 Affidavit of Support only for now
-
Any suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated, or do I just keep checking the booking calander ?
Keep looking on the CSC website for earlier appointments. In the last few months they've been releasing earlier appointments mid to end month. Ex. At the end of April there would release new May appointments.
-
Thank you.
Yes, I do have the MTL number. Where would I find the DOS' number?
If/when DOS tells you Packet 3 has been mailed to you, you don't need to wait for it before mailing your packet's content to the consulate. Some people never receive their mailed copy (including myself) and it can save you weeks. From the moment DOS tells you it's been mailed, you can send in your stuff. It should take about 10 days between them receiving your Packet 3 and mailing your Packet 4.
Everything you need is listed here : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_pkt3
For your medical appointment, you need to provide either your immunization records or a titer test showing all immunization and boosters. Other than that, they request you declare all drugs/medication history, major/chronic/communicable, physical/mental illnesses and diseases. They will take a chest X-ray, draw some blood and ask you very basic health questions. You should make sure your immunization is up to date before going to your medical appointment. They can provide anything missing but it'll cost you much more than at any other clinic. That's it.
Good luck!

Whatever you write in that slot, it has to be in years. You are applying for a permanent immigration visa
I wrote 50 years on mine.
