Notification of dispatch of the Naturalization Oath Ceremony letter, so checked in online and mine is set for June 2nd! 🥳
Big downside is no family at the ceremony, so my wife and kids won't be able to be in there when I swear the oath 😢 We are very unhappy about that, and I doubt there's enough time for USCIS to update their guidance to allow spouses at least, even though Utah itself is opening up, especially to vaccinated people like us.

Had my interview today in the SLC Field Office - arrived 15 minutes before interview time in the letter, taken back by the USCIS officer 30 minutes later (15 minutes after scheduled time).
Answered the first six questions correctly, read and signed some stuff on the tablet, all he looked at was my green card and my Utah photo ID, and flicked through my file.
Asked the normal questions (no, no, no, I do, I do, no, no, etc 😄), had some small talk amongst it.
Out the door 45 minutes later - no document to say that I was recommended for Naturalization as the printers were broken 🤨
He said that I should get notification of my ceremony date in 2-6 weeks. Just checked my.uscis.gov, and there's the confirmation that I should get a letter within 30 days.

In your my.uscis.gov account, on the 'My Account' page. At the top of 'Your Cases', it shows the estimated completion time.

Finally filed mine in on 8/29 - moved here in August 2011 on K-1, just never got around to naturalizing. Response on USCIS website says doing background checks etc and 13 months estimation, so I may need to to look at renewing my green card if that rings true (expires Nov 2021).
Salt Lake City (SLC) office, if that makes a difference.

Sending it in tomorrow - quick question first, though.
I'm the applicant, my wife the petitioning spouse, and we had a baby in June of this year. I presume that I add my son's details to part 4, and mark that he isn't applying with me?

Hope everyone is well - do I recall that there was another thread started once we'd all finished our K-1 stuff?
Weirdly, we just had an email from USCIS, but it was regarding the 2-yr greencard that they sent in 2011!
Very strange..
We're looking forward to removing conditions, but before that arrives in August, we have a new member of our family arriving June 22...

When I first moved here a girl I worked with told me Hershey's "tastes like sick"
I can see where they come from, although, to me, Hershey's just tastes smokey. It isn't greatly enjoyable to my palette, though.
There are a couple of UK stores around Salt Lake City, and Whole Foods in SLC carries small jars of Marmite & Colman's, Heinz Baked Beans and Weetabix that I've seen.
Organic Ketchup is the one to buy (by whichever manufacturer) as they use cane sugar, not corn syrup, and find Mexican sodas (or Throwback/Kosher) if you miss the taste, as they are sugar rather than HFCS. My brother-in-law's wife is Mexican, and she recommended a Mexican grocery store for bits and pieces too.
One thing I do miss is not being able to buy a gammon joint in the store - I wanted to make Nigella's gammon in coca-cola recipe, but that'll have to be next Christmas, giving me time to find some decent uncooked gammon.

My bouncy dance continues - changed back from Card/Document Production to Post-Decision Activity this morning.
At least it says "On December 9, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. ", so I know for sure that I haven't been denied
Presumably, I'll be back to Card/Document Production at some point, for the third time

USPS Passport Appointment Immediately After Naturalization Oath Ceremony
in Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen

Funnily enough, at my ceremony the IO said that it would be better to wait the couple of weeks for the SSA to update their system to show the US Citizen code, and then do the passport. He said to phone them after about 2 weeks to confirm code change, but the local SSA office said that they need sight of the Naturalization Certificate before they will change the code. The implication was that once the SSA had done the change, the other Government departments would have the up-to-date information.
Now, of course, I have to wait until the local SSA field office opens to normal business as there's no way I'm going to mail in my Naturalization Certificate!
