My wife is from Vietnam. Came to US on K-1 in 2013 .we married, she is now US citizen. She has filed for petition for her brother and sister to come to US paid the fee too. Does it really take all those years for their possible petition to be considered? I don t comprehend the topics or procedures on here at all, so forgive me for not being able to investigate accurately. I mean the fee is non reimbursed even if things change 15-20 down the road ..can they even come over on just a tourist visa or something? Please if anyone can offer any particular helpful incite, please respond here, or please personally email me. (removed)

My fianc has set an appointment for late April at the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh. I understand that I'm not required to be there with her, will being present significantly help the case? I wanted to take a week off my new job to fly to Vietnam and show consulate that I'm present with my fianc . Will it hurt our case if I'm not present ?

Hi everyone, I'm US citizen and my fianc is Canadian H1B visa holder, we plan to get marry in September and start the green card process asap. I have a few questions, hoping someone can clarify. We are currently in 2 different states due to work (CO and MN) but I will move to MN by end of this year or early next year at the latest. All these questions mostly for if we file before the move happens: 1. Do we use different addresses or should we use just the MN one? Will either scenario cause any problems later on? 2. We will file I-130, I-485, I-765 (I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is the EAD) and advance parole together. In that case, can we leave the US before getting advance parole or will we have to wait? Does filing for EAD affect his H1B status? 3. If we file immediately after getting married, does it look suspicious to USCIS? 4. When will I have to file Affidavit of Support (This is the income proof, right?), as well as other proof of our marriage? I'm worried that if we file before the year ends & have to send those at the beginning, we won't have proof of tax joint. We are currently living apart so we have very limited proof (no joint lease nor tax), mostly just health insurance and joined bank account. Thank you in advance for your help

My fianc 's interview is scheduled for the end of April in Ho Chi Minh and I will fly there to be present with her during the interview. Even though it's not mandatory for me to be there, it helps. My fianc and I were video calling and rumors she heard regarding the interview is that the U.S. Consulate officer conducting the case interview has already made a decision at this point in time, way prior to us being present for the interview. It's said that, if the interview officer is carrying a green piece of paper during the meeting, he/she will automatically request a second interview at the end of the 1st interview. Is there is credibility or truth to this theory? If so, it's a bit lousy in my opinion, knowing the consulate officer has already made a decision to serve a green paper to reschedule for a second interview. I'm flying to HCM to stay for a few days to be with my fianc and to be present for the interview with her, if it's only to be there to served a second interview, I will have return and fly back at a later time for a second interview. It's a hassle. Anybody have any thought about this idea? And how long is the U.S. Consulate interview? I've mostly heard 15-20 minutes. But my Fianc mentioned that the interview only takes about 2 (minutes), which I find a bit hard to believe. 2 minutes being that, the officer will ask a few questions and take the prepared photocopies of the Affidavit of support, relationship photos, generated timeline, etc. In and out. Is this accurate?

Hi all, I'm having an issue with my passport application and would really appreciate any advice. I applied for my passport a few days after the Oath Ceremony at a local passport acceptance facility. It has been almost 04 weeks, payment was already cashed about 2 weeks ago, but my status on the tracking system is still "Not Available". I have been trying to call the 1-877-487-2778 almost everyday, but no luck talking with a human so far. This morning, I double-checked my submitted application and found out that I accidently put my husband name in the regular order of "' First Name, Middle Name, Last name"' instead of "'Last name, First Name, Middle Name"' as required by the form. Wondering if this mistake messes up my application? Also started planning to contact my state senator as I sent along the original naturalization certificate and I currently have no other paperwork to prove my legal status over here. Many many thanks!
