US Immigration from United Kingdom

Hello, my US fiance who will be my sponsor has various convictions/arrests including 2 domestic violence and 3 drug charges. These are over 15 years old. I have tried to do research on whether we can file the forms for a K1 visa ourselves or if we should be assisted by a lawyer. Can anyone help with this? Im from the UK. I have seen information about getting a waiver from a lawyer but it is unclear if thats if the beneficiary has a record or the sponsor.

Hi all, my wife, my son, and I have received family immigration visas (F3). I went for the interview first (as I was initially in an F1 category), received my visa, and they returned my visa packet with all the documents.

The financial form I-864 only has my name on it, and there are no names of my dependents on it.
My derivatives were later added to my case.
My wife and son had their interviews, and they were not asked for the financial support form, even though we had prepared it and brought it with them. So, their visa packets do not include the financial support form.
We have a flight in 7 days. Since my visa is about to expire, I am concerned about what will happen when the POE officer opens the visa packet, checks our documents, and sends them to USCIS for the green card to be issued. What will happen to the financial documents that are not included in my wife and son s packets? Will they accept those documents separately?

How should I arrange to send i-864s of my derivatives, as they may be needed for processing their green cards?
We live abroad in the UK, and the embassy which issued the visas is not based here.

So my fiancee attended the interview. Said it was very short and brief, but the officer was pleasant. We are confused though and not sure if we should celebrate, or hold off. At the end of the interview, the officer said their system was acting up today but from what he could see and my partner's answers, (and I'm assuming all the relative documents he handed the first officer) that he sees no reason for a denial, so for him it's basically a "pre approved yes" and then proceeded to take his passport and said he will be notified when to come get his documents and passport.

Has anyone else had this issue? This was in London for further reference. We are just confused because it wasn't a clear 100% yes or 100% no..

Hello, I am a U.K. Citizen and my wife is a U.S. Citizen we currently reside in the U.K. and have done since 2020. We have 2 children - both of whom hold U.S. Citizenship and U.S. passports. Circumstances in our personal life have changed and our family decision is that we no longer wish to remain in the U.K. and with this want to move back to be with my wife's family in the U.S. Meaning that we are going to begin the process of submitting an I-130 for me to gain U.S. permanent residency.

Given that we are both employed in the U.K. from what I understand the income in the U.K. is irrelevant and our "actual household income" is 0$. Therefore we need in 3x the shortfall against the poverty line which totals assets greater than or equal to $117,000. We are fortunate enough to be in a position where my wife (the sponsor - U.S. Citizen) can provide a large proportion of the financial requirement from savings in a U.S. bank account. However we're short roughly $20,000, I have the means to make up this shortfall but it is via savings in GBP ( ) and in a U.K. bank.

My question here is, is the best course of action to progress using mine and my wife's savings despite a small proportion coming from a U.K. bank or is the path of the least resistance to request a finical assistance from a joint sponsor in the U.S? Thankfully a few family members have offered and are in the position to do this should it be required.

As you can imagine, my preference is to avoid dragging a member of my wife's family into this process as it is pretty invasive.

I know that the recommendation is that the beneficiary apply for the SSC prior to marriage, but I was wondering if anyone had success with getting it after marriage?

Due to my fiance wanting to spend the holidays with his family before moving here, and the timing of the weekend/flights he can get, we are looking at a really tight window (one business day) to get the SSC before our wedding. We thought about having him fill out the online application first to save time, as we saw someone else on VJ had success with it.

We are looking at options to still make it happen on that one day, in addition to a visit to the courthouse, but wanted to see if anyone had any recent success stories or ways to make it happen after if needed
