Ive tried looking this up on uscis website and cant find an answer.

I have a USCIS A-Number from my withdrawn K1 visa application. When filling out the AOS forms, is that A-Number still valid?

K1 visa - worth waiting for medical school graduation?

Hi guys,

Really helpful forum you've got here, i've learned a lot from the guides up top while i've been filling out the forms over the past few weeks. A quick question for those of you who are more seasoned in this kind of thing. My partner and I were planning to get engaged during my planned trip in March after 6 years of long distance but for obvious COVID reasons that didn't happen, so we're deciding to just be engaged via Zoom and start the visa process anyway.

Here's the kicker, she's currently a final year medical student, due to graduate and start her residency in the Spring, if we filed now we'd need a sponsor so i'm not a public charge etc etc. Her folks are happy to do so, but here's my question - given the delays that are now likely is it a more sensible move to simply wait until Spring when she's graduated and employed than apply now with the need for the extra form/evidence etc? I guess what i'm really asking is - how much extra time does the sponsor form tend to add to the process? If the answer is 'basically none' we'll just go ahead and file, if the answer is 'probably several months' then we've got a decision to make.

Thanks all!

P85 - Income tax refund when you leave the UK!

Hi all,

Just here to remind everywhere to fill out a P85 form to get your income tax refund with HMRC when you move. I saw it mentioned here once but don t see many people talking about it. You have to do it after you ve left the UK, but it s all online and really simple to do!

I did mine when I moved in late September. It took them a while to write to me (the letter just arrived today - over 2 months later) but I just found out I m due a repayment 1249/ $1676!! They enclosed a cheque with the letter. That ll help us recoup some of the costs of me moving here and will help with Christmas presents too.

DO NOT FORGET!! You could get a decent amount for just 5 minutes of your time.

Anyone else unable to save their edited PDF for filling in USCIS forms on Mac??

Having a real problem downloading and filling in USCIS PDF forms on Mac. When I enter any text into the boxes it tells me 'the original document can't be changed'..... So how exactly do USCIS expect us to submit their annoying forms if we can't actually fill them in?!

Then when I try to save the duplicate version, again, it tells me 'the document can't be saved'..... What did I do to deserve this?!

Anyone else stuck in this nightmare using Preview on MacOS? Is it any better on Windows or Adobe Reader??

Hi everyone, I became a naturalized citizen in October 2019, and I never realized I had to go into the Social Security office with my certificate to update my file. I m now onboarding for a new job and was good my SSN isn t verifying as a citizen, I explained the situation to the employer and they said it should be no problem, since my old LPR status is still active...should this even be an issue as long as I have my Naturalisation Certificate? No matter what that replaces the LPR status right? Of course I ll be making an appointment to update my file ASAP, but I thought this was an interesting situation
