London embassy - enrolled or unenrolled deed poll?

Does anyone know if the London embassy accept the unenrolled deed poll for name change (the one you just sign yourself) or is the enrolled deed poll (through courts) required as it doesn't specify what type on the website and technically it isn't required in the UK to get the enrolled one?

NEW <72hr COVID Testing

Merry Christmas members,

A new USA travel advisory has been issued.

With less than 72 hours until I'm due to leave the UK, the UK's foreign travel advice to the USA has just updated (08:51)

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa

Delta/Virgin Atlantic have so far failed to provide any guidance regarding my travel itinerary.
I'm in the process of exploring Heathrow Airport (Terminal) testing, via covidtesting.collinsonassistance.com

Also, in comparing the GOV/Virgin Atlantic information, it seems that the PCR test is the only test accepted by both the US government and carrier.

The issue with the terminal testing is that it is pre-security, and they seem to only offer/operate standard business hours, which won't sufficiently accommodate my AM departure time.

As such, I'll be travelling to Heathrow to test tomorrow (26th), or Sunday (27th).

My only outings in 2020, since my university went remote in February, have been visa based (medical&interview), so I've not yet been(or needed to be) tested.

As always, grateful for any input/guidance.

I will update this thread with the Collinson Assistance / Heathrow (Terminal) testing process, once I am booked & tested, in the hopes it will be helpful to other members imminently travelling.

Spelling of surname in birth certificate and passport don't match, what does this mean?

So I am a UK citizen with a Pakistani Birth certificate. One letter in my surname was misspelled (a instead of e) in my birth certificate when I was born (apparently typographical errors as such are/were common back then in Pakistan) but this was never picked up growing up so I have have been using an the 'a' version of my surname like the rest of my family in my passports and important docs all my life.

When my husband filed for the I-130 in the US, his lawyer told him they had to use the birth certificate version of the my surname ('e') and would just have to explain it to the London embassy during the visa interview of our issue.

Just wanted to know if this could cause my visa to be rejected either by the NVC or at the interview stage and if someone else has experienced similar situations and how they went about it?

Sponsor's household size I-864

having some confusion on this part.

part 5 sponsor's household size.. number 7 (optional)

I started working in October after graduation...

I live with my parents currently.

My mom will be our joint sponsor so she will have to fill out an I-864 form.

My mom and dad filed joint taxes, so my dad will complete an I-864a form.

Would I enter anything for #7 (If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting an I-864a, enter the number here) ? Or will my household size stay remain at "2" with me and my wife.

My wife will be living with me in my parents house when she arrives...

Due to have visa appointment in London on Monday (now Tier 4!)

I am due to have my visa appointment in London on Monday. Due to fly down tomorrow. It has now entered Tier 4, with movement in and out of the area forbidden.

My online visa appointment still says "Attend Appointment", although I am guessing this will change on Monday when someone is in the office to change it?

My main concern is, I am unable to reschedule my appointment online (probably too close to the appointment date), and it will be 1 year since I started the process on Dec 23rd, so am concerned that my case will be marked as "Inactive" after Wednesday, before I have had a chance to attend any rescheduled interview.

It's no help that I need to make a decision on cancelling flights and hotels now, and the embassy doesn't open until Monday to get some advice. Can anyone offer any wisdom?
