My wife and I are being told to appear for our I485 interview in a month's time from now. However, we recently had a baby and we have been in self quarantine for the better part of this year. We'd like to possibly delay the interview if we can until infections get a bit lower, but are afraid that we will give USCIS the impression that we are avoiding the interview since our 2 year anniversary is only 3 months away. My USC wife is a total quarantine lover and has not left the house except for a few times this year. When the interview letter came through I had a panic attack because I know it will be hard to convince her to leave sine she has mentioned a couple of times that public buildings are places she doesn't want to step foot in.
My questions right now are:
1) How long would it take to get a reinterview scheduled?
2) Will USCIS think we are delaying the interview to avoid being interviewed before our two year anniversary? (I've read this concern on a few forums here)
3) Suppose my wife is convinced and agrees to go for the interview, what are the chances that the officer will leave us some *gray* area and assign the 10 year GC instead of the 2 year GC? Our case is very strong and we have tons of evidence to back up our relationship (photos, timeline, relative affidavits, receipts, bank accounts, list goes on...)
4) What is the chance that our application for interview rescheduling gets denied?
