US Immigration from United Kingdom

Hi there, I have a potentially stupid question.

My fiance is coming here on his K1 Visa in December. I am trying to get everything in order that I can before he is here in order to make everything a bit easier for him. Most banks and other agencies will require a proof of address, and I believe the easist is going to be adding him to a utility bill. I'm hoping/thinking I can get him added to at least one without a SSN.

My question is....is there an issue with adding his name to utility bills too early? Would it have a negative impact somewhere along the line?

I m wondering if I ll be able to set up a bank account to get a financial history started?

I am a UK citizen current in the early stages of the K1 visa process, as in as have just received our NOA1.
I am planning on calling into the bank to ask this question on my next visit to the US next month. However I wondered if anyone has experience of this.

My fianc and I will be looking to buy a home in the US together in the next couple of years and I know banks here in the UK like to see some financial history ( which I have here already). I was just wondering if anyone has experience of opening an account in the US using a care of address of their partner. I d like to start a financial footprint and also I m not keen on the currency conversion and constantly having to consider the exchange rate.

After months of nvc requesting the same documents we have sent in our joint sponsors w2, schedule form and 1099. After seeing many people say to just upload the whole transcript from irs so we have the transcript now but the file is far too big to upload. Any advice?? We are so stuck and just want to be together!!

Hi all, just wondering about recent experiences with how long it takes to get case number from NVC?

NVC confirmed they have received my case and its awaiting data entry, how long would it take as a general guess/estimate to get my case number?

Has anyone entered the US with a CR1/IR1 visa recently and gotten his/her green card? My husband entered exactly 5 weeks ago and he received his SS card in a week. However, we have been checking for updates on his green card and we get the same response that they will produce it within 90 after the payment/his arrival in the US.

We are worried because he has a potential job that he will interview for soon. And we don t know if they would give him an offer with only his social and passport.

Also, can anyone recommend any bank that would accept only his social and passport to open an account for him? I wanted to add him to my state credit union account but they wouldn t do it without his green card.
