Is my mental health history grounds for a k1 visa denial?

Due to a self harm scar from when i was age 12 (10 years ago) the medical examiners requested a short email directly from my gp stating my current mental health. after contacting my GP, my GP (UK) is refusing to provide an email to the medical examiner about whether or not I have mental health issues both past or ongoing. is there an alternative way for the visa medical examiners to confirm my mental health is okay for the visa?

No recent visits due to Covid an issue?

I've been with my UK fiance for 3.5 years. We've met, he's visited several times etc. We had a courthouse wedding booked here for April 3rd 2020, but days before he was due to travel here for that travel was banned due to covid. So, the last time he was here was well over a year ago, November into early December of 2019. We're just waiting right now for him to be able to travel back here so we can finally get married and file for the CR-1. I'm just wondering if such a big gap in in person visits is going to cause a problem. We're not very young (44 & 56) and don't want to have another visit before we're married, especially considering how long the visa approval times are taking currently.) Just something I'm curious about. Appreciate input. Thanks!

Remote work for non-US employer while living in US

Hello all,

This week, I'll fly to the US on my IR1 immigrant visa. When it's stamped on arrival, I'll become a LPR.

I have had almost 6 months to prepare for my move to the US, but certain things have been impossible during the pandemic.

e.g. I have been unable to gather my personal items from different addresses, and to visit relatives/friends I'd like to see before moving, due to COVID restrictions.

But I am entering the US this week because, if I don't, my immigrant visa will expire and I will need to repeat the medical exam and embassy interview.

I would like to leave the US to gather my personal items and visit relatives/friends. I am also continuing to work remotely for a non-US employer as I have not yet found work in the US, and am not sure if this complicates my situation.

I am writing to ask whether a re-entry permit would be acceptable in my situation. And, if so, if you have any advice on how I should explain my "purpose of trip". Any other sage advice is also welcome.

(I am not entirely sure how long I will need, and think it would be better to express my intention to return without simply leaving, particularly if I'm gone for more than 6/12 months.)

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

My husband and I require a Tax Identification Number for tax purposes.

I have not received the EAD or Social Security number yet. As a result, I don't know what number I am supposed to use for my TIN - does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Beckie

Hi i am not sure if this thread applies to me as I do not know what DQ means? Apologies if not relevant.

I applied for a returning resident visa (SB1) which was approved on 19th Jan. I submitted my application for the immigrant visa DS260 on 26th Jan. I am desperately waiting on a date for the visa as I have a job offer which is past due it s start date.

My visa classification under FAQ is other which is currently not showing up as having any visa dates currently.

I d like to give the job an indication of what timescales we are looking with the hope that they can wait. This is my dream job so I don t want to loose it.

The above indicate it is a 4 month wait time? Would that apply to my situation too?

any assistance would be useful. Thank you in advance.
