Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any information about DCF in South Africa? My fiance and I are getting married in a few months and would like to stay together as much as possible throughout the process. We are currently in Thailand, but will be moving there for the wedding shortly.

Kind regards,

Dewald & Brittney.

Hi all!

I have a quick question: Can a US citizen petition (for a green card ) their stepchild/stepchildren who are under 21 years old?

Thanks!

Jonan

The guidance from the Bangkok Embassy in packet 3/4 says:

Quote

CONFIRMATION PAGE PRINTOUT OF GLOBAL SUPPORT STRATEGY (GSS) REGISTRATION:Each applicant must create his/her own profile and register his/her mailing address with the GSS system at www.ustraveldocs.com/th. Please print out your GSS Confirmation Pageshowing UID Barcode. Please note that your interview will be cancelled and rescheduled if you do not have a completed GSS delivery address registration.

We cannot for the life of us find anything related to GSS on the USTravelDocs website. We've sent an email to the Embassy, but their response was a generic canned response that did not help. Can anyone provide any insight here? Thanks.

birth certificate "damaged" AKA unavailable

latest status: 04/07/2021 NVC emailed me that they were transferring the approved I-129F to BKK and warned that the transfer could take "...several weeks". more on that later as time (...and my patience) allows.

with some coaching from this end my fiance has started the ball rolling with document requirements on her end.

the good news: Kanya visited the district office in Phitsanulok yesterday and received her name change docs translated to English (sound of crowd cheering) she changed both first and last names this means 1 document each (!) receiving the docs in English

means no need for the extra step (...and time) of sending them out for translation.

the bad news: her birth certificate is "damaged". packet 3 instructions read: "...If an official birth certificate is not obtainable, applicants should submit a Certificate of Birthplace, their Household Registration, and their Thai National ID card as secondary evidence."

ID card = OK

Household Registration: her dad died last year and the farm was settled between her and her siblings earlier this year. it's not clear to me if this is what the embassy is referring to. anybody know ? she lives at the salon she operates in Phitsanulok.

Certificate of Birthplace: the folks at the district office offered little more than "no have". OK ... apparently they only process requests for visa docs once or twice a year, but still. (at one point she was spell checking during typing of name change docs)

bad news pt 2: the above took 4 1/2 hours. she was a little frazzled during our Messenger chat last night. bless her heart... what a trooper

any insight appreciated.

Limit to rescheduling visa interview

My fiance scheduled her visa interview in Bangkok. She rescheduled the interview once when an earlier time slot was made available. Now an even earlier time is available and we are interested in rescheduling again. On the reschedule page it says "If you cancel this appointment, then you will have exceeded the limit of appointments canceled, and will not be able to schedule another appointment until another MRV fee has been paid."

What is unclear to me is whether they mean that if we reschedule again after this time we'll have exceeded the limit of appointments canceled or if they mean if we try to reschedule this time that we'll have exceeded the limit and need to pay again. Anyone know definitively from experience? Thanks.
