Lost my I-683 help!

I did my medical exam and received the Do Not Open Envelope from my doctor.

The hot mess that I am, I lost the envelope before I got a chance to send it to USCIS. I called the doctors office to reissue the form, but I won t know what s going to happen until the doctor is back in the office, which is Monday (in 4 days) and the anxiety is killing me.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Are they going to make me redo the whole exam and pay again? - the latter is what I really do not want to do.

When are they finally going to make these electronic? It s ridiculous

Good afternoon,

It has been a while since I have posted. I have originally applied for LPR via marriage in 2017. I got the 2 year green card and then I got the 10 year green card August of 2020. My divorce was also finalized August of 2020. Since I am divorced, I have to wait the 5 years in order to apply for citizenship which falls on this year around August.

Anybody recently applied that is in the same situation as me? How long is the wait usually?

Just asking some questions so that I am prepared for when my time comes.

Thank you.

Hello all, I am asking this question for someone else. He got married to his now-wife over video call. He was in Saudi Arabia and she was in the US. After this, the religious official (who was physically present in the US with the bride), wrote them a religious marriage certificate (holds no legal standing in the US to be registered as a marriage).

She then brought this certificate with her to Saudi Arabia when the two of them finally met. They took this certificate to the American consulate in Saudi Arabia and had it attested there and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Based on the USCIS website, it seems like this should be valid:

Quote

Exceptions: Only the Saudi government is authorized to create legally-binding marriages that are valid for immigration purposes. In the cases of third country nationals who get married outside of a Sharia Court in Saudi Arabia, that marriage must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There are MOFA offices located in most major cities. For example, a third country national who performs his/her wedding ceremony at his/her country s embassy in Saudi Arabia must have their wedding certificate and/or marriage contract endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will affix a small stamp with two crossed sabers and a tree on it when they endorse the document.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SaudiArabia.html

The question I had was, will the USCIS still accept this document even though the marriage was done online? I know surrogate marriages are only allowed if you later show proof that you consummated the marriage but I thought that was only for fiance visas.

Thank you!

I have a problem with my immigration visa at US embassy at Warsaw. After uscis and nvc aproved my visa in f2a category and scheduled interview in may 2021 in Poland consul said that im in wrong category because im aged out. Consul said that I have to wait for group f2b. My priority date is 18 November 2016 and now visa buletin stop and is huge backlog. I just came to Poland just for 2 weeks and now I'm here almost 10 months. I wanna ask you that you heard about case like mine? How is possible that uscis and nvc used filling dates (chart B) of visa buletin and scheduled my interview in category f2a and us consul at embassy change my category to f2b. They said that they have inside law and now they use final action chart. I know that is on uscis page that we have to calculate CSPA by chart A but uscis and nvc used chart b.

DOB: 23 SEPTEMBER 1996

PRIORITY DATE: 18 NOVEMBER 2016

I-130 APROVED: 28 FEBRUARY 2018

Do you heard anything like that?

Do you have any idea how I can deal with that?

Getting SSN after getting green card

Glad to say we got our green card approved on 1/24/22, the day of the interview, and received it in hand at home on 1/31/22. The question is about the SSN. We never got the EAD since we got the green card first. Does USCIS already submit an application for a SSN on our behalf or do we have to go do it ourselves?

Thank you!
