Hey all. I need some advice on a situation i am stuck in. I finished my grad school in summer 2022 and started working for a tech company in August 2022 on OPT. My H1B had gotten approved while i was still in school which is the reason i opted for 'consular notification' instead of 'Change of status' to make the switch to H1B since i needed to maintain my F1 to finish grad school. I travelled back home in December 2022 to get the H1B stamped. Sent my documents to the consulate in mid-december because i qualified for the interview waiver. After a month they sent my documents back and asked me to come to the embassy in-person. My interview was in mid-February. Unfortunately i got put in administrative processing and have been on the same for 4+ months now. So far i was working remotely, but now have been forced on a leave of absence due to tax related issues because i can't work from abroad for more than 6 months according to some tax law. I was thinking of coming back on my F1 which is still valid till January 2024 and extending my OPT (current one expires in mid-August). Do you guys think i can/should do that? Is there a chance i might be denied entry and forced to return from the airport? Can doing this have an adverse effect on my H1B in processing? My main motivation for coming back is so that one i can of course start earning again since i still have to pay rent on my apartment and all that. Plus i do not want to lose the opportunity of extending my OPT for another 2 years just in case this processing takes a really long time OR worst case my visa gets refused. I even asked the congress person from my area to file a congressional inquiry on my behalf. Even they got sent the same info that my case is in AP and i will get an email once its done. Being in this transient phase has gotten really frustrating now and i am now in a state where even logistical things are starting to become a problem such as should i renew my lease or not. Any advice would be really appreciate. Cheers!

Good morning, My mom arrived a week ago and the address I provided time I filed and I don't live there anymore. I filled out AR-11 form online where I chose the option "No" updated old and new address and provided the visa registration number as well. I received back a confirmation number I still haven't paid the green card fee so that it can ship out. I'm not sure if this will deliver to old address or new address now. How would i find out where it is going. Will USCIS provide me the tracking information? I have the same issue for the Dad but he is still going through administrative processing. I used to live in NY and moved to Texas, Can he fly straight to Texas and give the officer the new address for his green card delivery or he needs to go to NY first? Any good advice will be much appreciated

Hello i filed for mother for adjustment of status; they mailed me an RFE asking for medical documents 1-693 and her birth certificate; i didn't read (which is awful on my part) that it clearly stated " SEND in ONE PACKET" i sent the birth certificate in one packet and im waiting for my mothers i-693 result which i will mail in another packet. I will send a RFE notice in both packets and explain the situation; i have mailed (through the secure inbox) in her profile explain the mistake. IS there anything else i can do? will it effect the situation; her case negatively ?

My mother lost her GC, she is currently in US and we have her ticket booked for Canada for next week. I just applied for I-90. Any chance I can get her a ADIT stamp in any of the NYC offices or can she travel based on the online Receipt I received after filing I-90?

Hello all, We are expat and going to have an interview at U.S. Consulate in Almaty, KZ. After the interview, we have to travel to Shymkent by flight. However, our concern is that the passports, which are our only ID documents here in KZ, will be kept by the consulate. In the worst case that we have to go through the Administrative Processing, which may take weeks (even months) to complete, we definitely miss the flight and suffer some consequences (we have small kids with us). My question is whether by any chance, we can ask the C.O to see how long they will keep our passport? This information is necessary to plan our stay. Moreover, is there any way to travel in KZ without the passport? Maybe by train? Thanks in advance.
