Hi I have filed I-130 for my mother. After the petition is approved and moved to NVC, can I change the embassy? (Same country but different city).

Hi all, a relative of mine had an interview at Islamabad today. She was married before but her divorce was not settled until about a week after the current marriage. CO told her that her husband is not eligible to travel because polygamy is against US law. Applicant tried to argue that the divorce was about to be finalized and polygamy is technically legal in Pakistan. But CO did not accept any of that. CO told them that she can travel (if approved) with her kids but husband cannot. Applicant got a 221g with "administrative processing" and got another letter to fill out DS-5533.

Has anyone ever experienced this or know anything about a similar case? What are our options? CO also told them that the family members who are able to travel should sponsor her spouse. Is there a better option? Can they file for divorce and remarry and spouse be able to travel on the same case? Please help. Thanks

Hi Members,

I have a question about kids under 18 years.I want to know that my kids under 18 are going to get green cards or passports when they arrive here or do i need to file any kind of papers to get them passport and petitioner is citizen .

We are getting anxious out here waiting for news on the i-130 we filed last April and we know one of the next steps is to file the i-864. However, everything I see online says they can take another 8+ months to process that form? Did we screw up our timeline and we are going to be stuck abroad longer waiting for them to process the financial documents?

Overstay of visit visa, now married to US Citizen

Hello everyone, after so many years I'm back to my favorite place for information. This time to help a friend who has overstay visa. However after several years, has married a US Citizen. I'm thinking with this she can apply and obtain a green card. Am I correct and what form is applicable? I485 as she is already in the US. Thanks so much and sorry I tried a search.
