Hi all, I just became a US citizen two weeks ago and I am ready to file for my parents , my case is pretty straight forward and I am still married with my US citizen husband and naturalized via 3 years rule(i485,i765,n400 all self filed and no issues)

My question is

1. do I need a lawyer for this process?
2. Is it complicated or different? Since different steps are involved?

3. Anyone that recently did this from Nigeria what was your timeline?

thanks in advance for responding

Help!

Joint sponsors spouse decline to sign form i-864A.

Joint sponsor makes sufficient funds independently (an MD), but files tax jointly with his spouse. nvc asked for i-864a from spouse but declined to sign.

Don't know anyone else who can be a joint sponsor. This is the only person we got. Would appreciate suggestion for best course of action. Thanks

I am in EB-2 category and I wasn't to transfer my case to Frankfurt. But I am not sure if the queue/backlog is long.

YOUR Husband WILL BE different now that he is in the USA - Beware

To all women marrying abroad. Please understand the reality, when you travel to the other country to see your husband of course it will be laid on thick for you because if they aren t contributing anything in the financial process the goal is TO GET TO AMERICA. You will never be the only reason why they want to come here. You may be part but not the only reason , in their mind they want to get money to take care of their family back in Africa. They think all Americans are rich and don t want to spend their money. I am still with my husband he is a hard worker but he is nothing like I thought he would be towards me . If I can give you any advice have every conversation possible that you can think of before he arrives to the USA so you can see where his mind and heart is with his goals when he arrives to the USA. I would advise that you highly consider what choice you are making before you start the process. I know all men are not the same BUT understand you are marrying a culture as well as a person. If you can don t rush and get married and make him pay for things that the IR1 Process calls for.
