Hello Everyone

My husband and I got married in October 2020 and want to file for adjustment of status soon but he hasn t done any taxes in the last couple of years because he wouldn t make enough to report I guess, but now we have a small business with the help from his dad that is going to be our sponsor, does my husband need his own taxes file to apply or the sponsor taxes are enough to start.

I have also overstayed my tourist visa and never file tax before. We ve been together for almost 5 years, never really had a real job with a paycheck and I don t have my itin. thank you in advance I know is a difficult question hope someone can answer me.

Applied I485 for Parents in Florida, i693 RFIE for Memphis Field Office

Hello!

I m wondering if anyone has had a similar situation.

I (U.S. Citizen) am sponsoring my parents for their Adjustment of Status. We applied in August 202, and their local field office is in Fort Myers, Florida.

Earlier this year, they received the RFE for the i944, we responded to it with screenshots indicating that it was no longer required per the USCIS website. This was sent and received Nebraska Service Center.

Recently, I received notification that both their I-130s had been approved, and we just got an RFIE for the i693, Medical Evaluation. The return address is for the Memphis Field office in Tennessee. I can only think of two possible scenarios:

1. Even though their local field office is in Fort Myers, their case has been assigned to the Memphis office due to backlog in Fort Myers. (Memphis is pretty far though, so I m sure a closer office could have been assigned)

2. Because it is AOS for my parents, the i693 is being requested via mail because they may be eligible for an approval without an interview.

Have any of you had a similar situation?

K-1 NOA2 Expiring soon, no word from NVC

We received NOA2 dated Feb 11, 2021, and it says it's valid from Feb 10 to June 9, 2021.

We have not received any other communication. This week, I sent an e-mail to the NVC inquiring about the case, and the estimated processing time for e-mails is currently two weeks, which puts us right at the June 9 deadline. I just called the NVC, and there was a recording saying to call back later. Do I need to call back?

My fiancee talked with the embassy yesterday (in Spanish, yay!), and the agent was very friendly and helpful. He told her it was very important that I call the NVC immediately, because if the notice expires on June 9, according to him we can lose our whole application process.

What do I do?

Could this have to do with my I-134? I was following instructions on the K-1 guide here, and it said to keep the I-134 and also to send one to my fiancee, but not to submit it yet. Do I need to send it to the NVC?

Thanks!

Aaron and Cintya

DS-160 for K1 Interview

Hello,

After NVC assigned our case number, we worked on the DS-160 while waiting for our case to be forwarded to the consulate. Normally in Mexico, K1 case is forwarded to Ciudad Juarez. Just recently, they opened up another consulate in Mexico City for K1 interview. This means that our old NVC case number CDJxxxxxx is to MEXxxxxxx.

When we filled out the DS-160 couple months ago, I don't remember we ever input our NVC case number at the time (CDJxxxxxx). My fianc e called the consulate this morning and the person from the consulate advised us that we need to redo our DS-160 so that the new DS-160 reflects the new number (MEXxxxxxx). Tonight, we started a new DS-160 application online and we don't see anywhere in the DS-160 application that we need to input any NVC number. In fact, the DS-160 we filled out 2 months ago is identical to the new DS-160 we are about to start. I don't know what the consulate rep was talking about. Am I missing anything?

Thanks.
