My expedite was approved through NVC on 08/11/21.

My visa type is IR1.

My status on CEAC says that my case is currently at Cd. Juarez.

Does anybody know how long will it take for my interview to be scheduled by the consulate after my expedite was approved on 8/11/21?

Hoping someone can help. We recently had the consulate interview in Mexico for my two stepchildren coming into the US. I am an American citizen and the petitioner for them. On the first interview the documents were reviewed and the officer marked that everything was good. Their father accompanied them on the second interview and they were denied because they wanted original divorce documents (not copies) for me (the petitioner), original birth certificate (not copy) for me (the petitioner) and a Mexican passport for me (the petitioner who is not Mexican and doesn t have a Mexican passport). My husband tried to explain all this to the officer and the officer wouldn t listen and handed him a blue paper stating we lacked all the above and were denied!!

We could not go back into the Consulate again without a pass (which was not given to him) and all the information windows were closed. After spending thousands of dollars in hotels and airfares, needless to say we were extremely sad and extremely angry. What can we do to complain and/or corrected? The officer also asked my husband questions he was asked in his K1 visa years ago like how we met..nothing related to an ir2 interview. He also told my husband and daughters that very few ir2 visas are approved!!

Suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated!

Denied visa for income.

Our application was denied because on our tax return the "total income" line is zero. All of our income is from Social Security which is shown on a different line on the 1040 form. My Social Security income alone is over the $21,550 requirement. My wile adds another 50% as she receives SS income as well.

I furnished copies of the Social Security income statements from 2020 and the originals of the 2021 income statements. I attached a statement to the I-864 saying that they needed to read the information and the correct lines on the 1040 transcript showing the SS income.

This is a catch 22. If we did not file a 1040 (our income is under the limit) they would have accepted the SS statements for proof of income. Because we did file (necessary because there were refunds) they will only accept the "total income" line which is zero.

They are saying we need a joint sponsor. Is there some appeal process. We do not have anyone else as a sponsor and our income is well over the guidelines.

Hello:

So K1 visa in hand and my s/o from Mexico City is getting prepared before we finalize flights and such. Neither of us is qualified to translate 100% Spanish to English, thus my questions. He asked me to ask here if anyone has any experience with any local translation services (many come up in searches just not sure who is good) who can translate and notarize documents. I found during searches on here references to online resources who will do it, but seemed like a lot of complaints about some of them as well. Any online services you would recommend?

And for documents I know birth certificate, police report, immunizations report, college transcript for potential employers - anything else we should be considering getting translated?

Thanks in advance.
